The University of New Mexico Admissions 2025: Application Deadline, Requirements & Costs

University of New Mexico admissions are open for the 2024 intake. International students have the option to apply through the Common app or the official website. Below is the Step 1: The Application Process can be made through the Full Sail University portal. (unm-apply.force.com/apply/)

Step 2: Check your requirements thoroughly and see if your current qualifications are recognised.

Step 3: You should meet the entry requirements checklist before applying:

• Transcripts of your degree.

• A minimum score of 6.0 and above in IELTS

• SOP ( Things you need to know about SOP)

• LOR ( letter of recommendation, optional)

• Creative Portfolio ( optional)

• Resume/ CV ( Optional)

• Full Sail University Application fee of USD 25

Step 4: Make sure your English requirements meet the standards of the University.

Step 5: You can submit your application after your requirements are ready.

Step 6: The application fee might vary depending on the programs and courses the applicant chooses. However, for MBA the application fee for PG courses is USD 70. If the applicant can’t afford the application fee, they can waive the application fee.

Step 7: After applying, applicants can check their status by logging in with their credentials through the University of New Mexico. 

International students have to submit their IELTS score to meet the English language University of New Mexico requirements. However, the university also approves other English tests such as TOEFL, PET, and Duolingo were completed within 2 years of the applicant's course date at the University of New Mexico rather than the general 2 years. Admission to the University of New Mexico is moderately competitive. The university wants well-rounded applicants excelling in extracurricular activities as well as in academics. Candidates with unique ideas and innovative interests will surely stand out. It is suggested that applicants should highlight their unique experiences, interests, and perspectives to help the examiner or the interviewer understand the applicant's potential. Students must talk about experiences and challenges that they've overcome, as that shows how the candidate takes on tasks during tough times. Coming to the essential part, students are suggested to have strong SOPs and LOR which can persuade the examiner to give them admission at the University of New Mexico.

Below are the qualifications an applicant must have before applying for the University of New Mexico:

• Applicants must be full-time students to avail of the scholarships.

• Prospective students must have a good GPA, a minimum of 3.5 GPA on a US scale in upper secondary/ high school coursework  

OR  

• 3.0 GPA on a US scale AND either an ACT score of 26 or SAT score of 1240 

• Non-immigrant visa status (Preference is given to student visa holders- F1 or J1.) 

• Lastly, students are automatically considered, which means international students will only be offered one scholarship and can’t combine the aforementioned awards with any other UNM scholarship.
