Wright State University History
Wright State University had opened up in September 1964 with around 3,200 registered students and more than 50 faculty members on campus. The State Bill 10 was passed in the next year and Wright State University became an independent state university. The university was later granted its independent status in 1967 with having over 5,207 students on campus. The Student Union of Wright State University was established in 1969 and the first Dormitory Hamilton Hall was founded in 1970.
The Wright State University Medical School was founded later in 1980 and the College of Business was founded in 1981 following its higher education system development. By the 21st Century, the university was mainly focusing on research and also building the regional economy. The Veteran and Military Center was later established in 2014 which has a 4,500 square feet area to provide services to military students at the university. Wright State University had an enrollment of more than 15,000 students on campus by the year 2015.
