Founded in 1966, Loughborough University is a public research university located in Leicester, Leicestershire, UK. Loughborough University History
Loughborough Uni started its journey as a small Technical Institute in the centre of Loughborough, in the year 1909. Back then, the university provided local facilities for further education and offered courses in technical subjects such as Science and Arts. In honor of the excellence achieved by Loughborough College of Advanced Technology and its predecessor colleges, the university was awarded its Charter in Apr, 1966. In the same year, the university acquired its now-known name.
In 2015, Loughborough opened a second campus on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
