Academic excellence at the University of Birmingham
Tips: Transition to this country, particularly with the cultural change is a little challenging but the friendly and diverse campus community made it a more comfortable experience. Although I received a scholarship. University offers many types of scholarships you can check the website according to your suitable scholarship. University and courses have exceeded my expectations. This university provides excellent education and living in the UK has been culturally enriching and the best experience.
Likes (Indian Food): Near the college, you will find selective restaurants. Some are budget friendly, costing around 35 to 310. Mid-range options, offering diverse cuisines, may range from 315 to 330 per person. Fine-dining can be pricier, exceeding 330 per person. I enjoy both dining out for convenience and cooking at home for a balanced experience.
Dislikes (Safety): At our college, they take student safety seriously. Apart from campus security, they have well-lit pathways, emergency call boxes, and a 24/7 security team. Birmingham is generally safe, but it's wise to stay aware. My experiences in the city have been mostly positive, enjoying the culture and friendly people. While there were minor inconveniences, my overall time at the university and in the city has been enjoyable.

Navigating challenges whilst appreciating support
Tips: I haven't undergone any transition as such. I personally think the way to look at a problem statement, my approach towards working on an assignment, and perspective about living has slightly changed. I tried availing scholarships but did not get any probably because it was a late application. But to my best knowledge, one can expect up to 310,000 scholarship. I am happy with the exposure but the fee is definitely very high.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty in my opinion is really approachable and address the queries/ guide to respective stakeholders. As an international student, one thing that I personally felt difficult is to understand the rubrics of the grading system. It is difficult to understand the expectation of the faculty.
Dislikes (Internships): There is definitely plenty of guidance and advice available regarding graduate opportunities but the preference is usually given to graduate students over post graduate students. Possibly because of the tenure of the study and the visa. Also, I didn't quite find any internships available to PG students because they already had a handful of Ph.D. students.
