New York Film Academy Admission Process

International students who are willing to take bachelors, masters, or short-term certificate programs have to go through the following NYFA admission process:

Submit application form: International students are required to fill out the application form for the respective programs. The application includes general basic information about the candidate. It will hardly take 15-20 minutes.

Submit application fees: After filling out the application form, international students have to pay a non-refundable USD 75 (INR 6,216) as a part of the application. If the student is applying twice or more for the NYFA, they have to pay the application fee each time. (USD 1= INR 82.89)

Transcripts: International students pursuing a Bachelor must submit their high school transcript and students of masters have to submit their undergraduate transcript to complete their application.

Creative portfolio: International students have to create a portfolio that has different requirements from writing samples to short films to photographic series.

Proof of English proficiency: The students whose first language is not English have to submit their English language proficiency in the form of a TOEFL, or IELTS score.

Interview: International students have to give an interview as a part of the admission process. The interview mode can be on the phone, in person, or virtually. The purpose of the interview is to identify student’s goal and experience and their level of commitment to completing the program.

Tuition deposit: Once the international student secures their place in NYFA, they have to submit the application fee of USD500. NYFA returns most of the tuition fee to the students who do not attend or enroll in the program.

According to the students of NYFA, the acting course is intense and quite challenging. But the best part is the teachers are motivating, and extremely helpful. The staff expects their students to be very professional and they will treat you like a professional actor not like a student, which is a good thing.
