The Cockrell School of Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin established in 1884 is ranked as a top Engineering school with the No. 1 program in Texas and has been a global leader in technology advancement and engineering education for over a century. Taylor’s first college engineering course to the renaming of the College of Engineering in honor of the Cockrell Family, to the grand opening of the one-of-a-kind Engineering education and research center, Texas Engineering has experienced many milestones on its path to becoming one of the world’s highest-ranked and most respected engineering schools. Over a 30-year period the Cockrell Foundation has given almost USD40 million to the school, which through investment and matching gifts from other donors has grown to almost USD130 million. The Cockrell Foundation’s charter reserves additional funding for the school in perpetuity.
The Cockrell Foundation funds have enabled the school to attract 30 Engineering faculty who are members of the National Academy of Engineering, placing the school fourth in the United States behind the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley.

Admissions at Cockrell School of Engineering happen twice a year. Initially, admission begins in August for graduate programs and September for undergraduate programs. The international students can either enroll in Summer/Fall semester or Spring semester.
