Q:   Which is better, HEC Montreal or McGill University (Business)?
ShikshaGPT says
A:

Both HEC Montreal and McGill University are highly respected universities known for their business offerings. Ultimately, the "better" choice will be determined by your own needs and objectives.

HEC Montreal is a French-language business school based in Montreal, Quebec. It is acknowledged as one of Canada's the finest business schools, with a particular focus on international business, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. HEC Montréal is also noted for its strong ties to Quebec's corporate scene, which can provide students with significant networking opportunities.

McGill University, also in Montreal, is an English-language institution with a prestigious business school, the Desautels Faculty of Management. It has constantly been regarded as one of the best business schools in Canada is well-known for its emphasis on building leadership and managerial skills. Desautels is also noted for its strong emphasis on research, which can provide students with great opportunities to work on cutting-edge research projects.

When deciding on the "better" university, evaluate the language of instruction, the precise areas of specialisation of each program, the campus culture, and the resources accessible to students, such as internships, career services, and student organizations. It is also critical to examine your own personal preferences and objectives, such as location, cost, and professional goals.

Finally, both HEC Montreal and McGill University have great business programs, and the choice between the two will be based on your specific circumstances.

Q:   Is McGill in the Ivy League?
ShikshaGPT says
A:

No, McGill University is not part of the prestigious group of Ivy League institutions, despite maintaining a high academic standard, & a quality educational environment.

A simple reason for that is the university's location as an Canadian institution. The Ivy League only takes into consideration the universities based in the United States, & as a result, McGill doesn't make the cut.

The Ivy League universities are considered the pinnacle of quality education, & are among the most sought-after institutes, globally.

Q:   Is McGill University a top university?
ShikshaGPT says
A:

Yes, McGill University is part of the best institutions in Canada, performing well, as part of country-level & global university rankings given by some popular ranking publications, including Shiksha.

The institute secures a Canada-wide rank of #15 as part of the latest Shiksha Rankings, while some of its courses also rank highly as part of Shiksha's course-specific rankings, given below is a description of the same:

It is for your dream come true university.
Tips: When I came to McGill University, things were a bit different. Montreal's mix of cultures was interesting. At first, it was a bit strange, but I liked learning about new traditions, foods and celebrations. Being part of McGill's diverse community has made my time here more colourful and exciting.
Likes (Public transportation): Getting around McGill University is pretty convenient with good public transportation. The system connects well with the rest of the city, making it easy to move around and affordable. The weather is generally nice but if you plan to work in the long run, having your own vehicle like a car, might come in handy.
Dislikes (Student Life): Life as a student at McGill University is a mix of studies and some chill time. The campus in Montreal is cool with open space to relax during break. I am not much into events because I am busy and there are not many specific student clubs. It's a laid-back vibe. But I have found my own routine.

Good student life with the McGill's MBA.
Tips: It is a pretty intensive course and it requires long hours. French language is not necessary. But it’s fun to learn from professors and guest speakers. The fall semester is the hardest with maximum number of subjects in one semester and it is pretty fast paced as well.
Likes (Student Life): Safe environment for students. Clean and quiet places around the campus are there to sit and study. Study rooms for group study in library as well as in the department building are there. Special care is given for the physical and mental well being of students. A lot of fun events are organized on almost every weekend.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Less options for Indian cuisine are available, but a great place for people who are interested in trying different cuisines. Plenty of affordable eateries near the campus are available as well, although you can find good Indian restaurants outside downtown and they are pretty cheap as well.
