Undergraduate Admissions

Students are required to have a high school certificate or Diploma with an average of 70% in any five best academic subjects during the final year of study and at least 65% in core English subjects or any first language. Indian applicants must have received grades of A, B, or C in their Grade 11 and 12 with a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. Graduate Admissions

The Mount Saint Vincent University courses are comprised of over 190 courses at levels like undergraduate and graduate. The university offers more than 50 undergraduate majors, 34 graduate courses, and 8 certificate and diploma programs. At the undergraduate level, it offers only Bachelor of Arts and Bachelors of Science programs with 30 majors and minors options. Q:   Is visa required for Mount Saint Vincent University?

Visa is a requirement at MSVU as it is situated in Canada which requires a student visa to study as an Indian student.  The students have to visit the Canadian Embassy for visa Interview with the required documents and filled forms.

After getting the admission confirmation from the Mount Saint Vincent University, the students must arrange all these documents with the VISA fee:

·         Passport

·         Official documents transcripts

·         Provide a provincial attestation letter (PAL) from Ontario's provincial government

·         English Language Proficiency Proofs

·         Proof of Funds certificate

·         Support letter issued by the bank in case of a loan

The VISA application fee for Canada, is CAD 150 (INR 9,114) which is non-refundable in case of a rejection.

Q:   Can I work while studying at Mount Saint Vincent University?
A: 

International students are allowed to work on campus while studying at the university. Students can work full-time during spring and summer programs. However, during fall and winter programs, students can work part-time only, i.e., a maximum of 12 hours per week. The average hourly pay of on-campus employment is CAD 14 per hour and a 4% vacation pay. The wages are 100%, subsidized by the Financial Aid Bursary budget at MSVU.

Fall and Winter Program (Part-Time): Students can only work part-time for a maximum of 12 hours a week.  They can apply for on-campus jobs during September. The on-campus employment starts from late September to late March.

Spring and Summer Program (Full-time): Students can work full-time during spring and summer programs up to a maximum of 35 hours a week. The on-campus employment starts between May and August.

Off-Campus Employment: Students can work off-campus if they are registered as full-time students at the university and have a valid study permit and Social Insurance Number (SIN). There is no limit on work hours while working off-campus during vacations. However, during the semester, students can work for a maximum of 20 hours per week, i.e., between September and April.

MSVU offers on-campus housing to all students in its three fully furnished residences – Assisi Hall, The Birches and Westwood. Living on campus is the most convenient way to be a part of campus life, enjoy the commute to class, and build a social network. With a Metro Transit U-Pass, students can travel around Halifax easily. The annual residence fee, including fall and winter term fees, for 2021-22 are:
