Technical University of Denmark History
On November 5, 1829, the father of electromagnetism - Hans Christian Ørsted created the Technical University of Denmark. DTU started its journey as the College of Advanced Technology in 1829 and offered its first MSc programme in Engineering at a high academic level. In 1933, the university was renamed Danish Technical College. Later in 1994, the university acquired its now-known name - Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

Technical University of Denmark Admission Requirements for International Students
In order to secure admission, all international students must meet the DTU admission requirements listed below:
- All MSc Eng. programs: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSc Eng), Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or a Bachelor of Natural Science (BSc) degree obtained at an internationally recognised university/higher education institution;
- MSc in Technology Entrepreneurship program: A bachelor’s degree within any discipline obtained at an internationally recognised university/higher education institution;
- Strong academic competencies within an engineering or Science field related to the MSc programme of interest;
- Grades: Approximately 75% overall (individual GPA of subjects are given weightage);
- English language requirements;
- Resume/CV;
- Statement of Purpose (SOP);
- 2 Letters of Recommendation (LOR); and
- Other course-specific requirements.
DTU accepts all IELTS/TOEFL scores as proof of proficiency in the language.
