As per Article 3 LHGebG (Baden-Württemberg Act on State University Fees), international students from third-countries / Non-EU countries attending bachelor’s, teacher’s, and consecutive master’s programs and free movers will have to pay the tuition fee of amount EUR 1,500 per semester. In the case of a bachelor’s degree, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology takes 3 weeks to process the applications, whereas, in the case of master’s degree, 4-5 weeks is the processing time. The applications can be submitted online at KIT’s official website. The applicants are going to receive the outcome of their application via email. After this, log into to the portal and download the notice from there. In case, the applicants have received the admission letter, the applicants are required to then accept a study place in the application portal.  

Admission to th KIT is selective with a 26% acceptance rate implying that admissions are only difficult at some levels thus candidate must maintain good academic standing, have the previous qualification and present all required documents as specified in the document checklist.

Bachelor’s Courses

• First of all, fill out the online application of KIT
• Then, submit the application to International Students Office (IStO) as per the deadline
• After this, the application is processed by IStO
• Next, the confirmation of admission takes place, which includes DSH and Admission Test for German classes / preparatory college and enrollment at KIT (if direct admission) for higher education studies

Master’s Degree Courses

• Firstly, fill out the KIT online application
• Then, submit the application to International Students Office (IStO) according the application deadline
• After the submission of the application, it is processed by IStO
• Processing of application by the Departmental Commission is also done
• Next, the confirmation of admission happens. This includes enrollment at KIT (if direct admission) for higher education studies
