Wroclaw University History
Wroclaw Uni began as the Leopoldina University after the efforts of the Jesuits. The Emperor Leopold I Habsburg issued the foundation document, also known as the Golden Ball. In 1881, it merged with the Protestant Viadrina of Frankfurt (Oder). By 1911, the University of Wroclaw Poland began welcoming women for higher studies and Nobel Prize laureates for research.
