For Fall intake the application deadline is closed. The school has an ethnically diverse community of around 14,356 students and 285 professors specializing in every area of business. About 10,521 students have enrolled for undergraduate and 3,708 students for post-graduate programs. There are nearly 4,149 international students from about 151 nations of the world. HEC Montréal acceptance rate is 17% which makes entrance extremely competitive, with a 17% acceptance rate however, it goes higher for MBA, and the acceptance rate is somewhere between 35-40%. International applicants must have a GPA of 60% or higher to be considered for admission to MBA and MSc programs.

Q:   What are the eligibility requirements for Hec Montreal?


International students should check the respective course pages for subject and course-specific requirements. In general, the requirements are as follows:

Undergraduate Admissions: Applicants should have at least 120 credits in Grade 12 with relevant subject credits. ACT or SAT scores may be required as per course. Students should also showcase French and English language proficiency. French requirements include either one of these:

  • Passed the Uniform French, Language of Instruction, and Literature Exam of Quebec CEGEPs

  • Completed French course as a second language

  • UCLAN French test

  • TFLM

  • High school Diploma in Canada in the French language

Graduate Admissions: A bachelor's diploma/degree or general license accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education is required. Three years of university study is mandatory. Apart from this, French and English language proficiency is required as per course.

Doctoral Admissions:  The eligibility criteria for all international students to pursue any Ph.D. Programs in HEC Montreal are:

  • Students must have a master's degree or Specialized Graduate Diploma (DESS) from any European Educational system

  • Any Graduate Diploma in business administration or any related field with an excellent grade at the school

  • Pass any of the programs mentioned below with an aggregate 70% or the equivalent of aggregate marks:
