A computer Science background is not strictly necessary to apply for the MSc Computer Science programme at McGill University, but certain prerequisites must be met. Students with a minor in computer Science or those with similar backgrounds, including electrical and computer engineering, may have done comparable courses and have enough experience to apply straight away.
Applicants are expected to have taken courses equivalent or analogous to at least four of the following core courses offered at McGill.
- COMP 206 Introduction to Software Systems
- COMP 250 Introduction Computer Science
- COMP 251 Algorithms and Data Structures
- COMP 273 Introduction to Computer Systems
- COMP 302 Programming Languages and Paradigms
The application fee for the MSc Computer Science programme at McGill University is $132.90 CAD (INR 7,971). The application fee is non-refundable and can be paid via a MasterCard or Visa credit card. Application fee waivers are not available for Graduates and Postdoctoral Studies.
