Established in the year 1962, Northern Alberta Institute of Technology is a government institution offering education in various disciplines of business, science, health and skilled trades. On 1st October 1962, the institution welcomed its first class of 29 communication electrician apprentices. In the year 1965, this institution hosted its first convocation ceremony. In 1989, the campus radio of the institution went on AIR. In addition to this, it has established ties with 80 partners belonging to different industries. This institution has undertaken 89 leading research projects of which 99% were in partnerships with the industry. NAIT has earned a phenomenal 98% employer satisfaction rate.
Northern Alberta Institute of Technology has four different campuses, in which three are located in the beautiful city of Edmonton and one is in Spruce Grove. These campuses offer a safe academic environment for the students so that they have a comfortable student life. The main campus of the university is home to the Centre for Applied Technology, the Productivity, and Innovation Centre and HP Centre. The Patricia Campus mainly offers different programs under the NAIT's School of Skilled Trades. Additionally, Spruce Grove Campus hosts the different the Crane & Hoisting Equipment Operator apprentice programs offered by the institution and Souch Campus is home to apprenticeship training programs.
Each year many students from different parts of the world enroll in the various programs offered by this institution. The credit program enrolment of this institution measured up to be 16,400, and the non-credit program enrolment of this institution measured up to be 14,200. In addition to this, there are approximately 1,700 international students from 91 countries enrolled in credit programs. The number of total staff members in this institution calculated to be 2,900. The total revenue earned by the university measured up to be $378 million. It has also provided $5.6 million as bursaries and scholarships to deserving students.
