  • Applicants must hold a Bachelor degree in Engineering, Forestry or Medicine, Bachelor's degree with First Class/Division 1 (65%) or Very Good (8 on a 10-point scale)
  • Applicants must have an MD or equivalent (e.g., dentistry or veterinary medicine)
  • Generally, university-level math (calculus, linear algebra) or statistics courses are accepted with a min. final grade of 76% (B+) or higher. Key topics from acceptable courses include descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing and confidence intervals, bivariate analysis, two-sample t-test, analysis of variance, chi-square test, correlation and regression, and parametric and nonparametric statistics
  • Quantitative Skills: Applicants must meet one of te following:
    • A B+ or higher grade in an approved undergraduate statistics or mathematics course. The course must appear on the transcript and have been taken within the past ten years, or
    • GRE Scores

  • With 22 in reading and listening & 21 in writing and speaking

  • Typically, applicants are working professionals in the health care sector and who wish to extend their knowledge in their field and expand their understanding of health policy, business and management, and leadership. Many applicants have Baccalaureate degrees and work experience in the healthcare field including medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, nutrition, pharmacy, kinesiology, biology, psychology, public health and business administration. The university is also looking for evidence of leadership and initiative in working with people, either in a healthcare setting or other private and public sector environments
Conditional Offer


If you have a strong record of academic achievement but do not yet meet the UBC English language requirement, you may be eligible for the Conditional Admission Program, which offers English language preparation leading to an undergraduate degree program on UBC’s Vancouver campus for bachelor degree programs in all faculties

  • Letter of intent: Please answer the following three questions in your letter of intent:
    • How have your non-academic experiences prepared you for the MHA program?
    • What new knowledge and skills are you most excited about gaining from the MHA program?
    • How do you envision your career evolving within the first two years after you complete the MHA program?
