Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management - Batch of 2023

Try to connect with the faculty, seniors and alumni to know about the college.
Tips: Before joining students should be aware of the college's campus. Dig deep into your chosen program. Talk to current students and alumni. The curriculum here can vary drastically, and some programs are more cutting-edge than others. Check to see if it's relevant to your chosen industry. Not only that, but the quality of the faculty isn't uniform. Some professors are passionate experts, but others can be less engaging. Don't rely solely on them to find you a placement. The college advertises its industry connections, but the quality of its placement assistance depends heavily on which program you're in. You need to be prepared to hustle.
Likes (Value for money): The University has an impressive infrastructure with modern facilities. The campuses are well-maintained, and it creates a good learning environment. There are lots of different programs, including some that the university has only recently added. I was impressed that they seem to connect students with the industry, with guest lectures and internship opportunities. The quality of these opportunities varies by program, but they do seem to be available. Campus life is amazing. There are so many activities and clubs so do participate in them.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Amity Global Institute’s campus food quality is neither good nor bad, just acceptable. They have a handful of decent dining options, but none that are worth seeking out over others. The main dining hall is a prime example. Its meals are just good enough that we usually don’t seek out other food options very often, but they aren’t so good that we seek them out. Eating on campus often centres around the campus dining halls and convenience food stands. The problem is that there's often a gap between the price point and the quality of the food, so eating there frequently doesn’t always make sense.

Amity Global Institute provides great exposure to its students.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should understand its academic expectations, campus culture, and available resources. Academically, the college likely has a rigorous curriculum, so students should be prepared for an environment that values independent study, critical thinking, and time management. It's beneficial to familiarize themselves with the specific course requirements for their major, as well as the faculty and any unique learning opportunities, such as research projects or internships, which are often crucial for professional development. Campus culture can vary widely between institutions, so understanding the social environment can help students transition smoothly. Financial aid and scholarship opportunities are also essential to explore beforehand, as managing finance is often a significant concern for students.
Likes (Part time work): The campus offers a diverse range of clubs, organizations, and events that allow students to explore their interests, meet new people, and develop skills beyond the classroom. Whether it's academic societies, cultural groups, sports teams, or volunteer organizations, there are countless opportunities to get involved and make meaningful connections. The college also hosts regular events, such as workshops, guest lectures, and cultural festivals, which enrich the campus atmosphere and provide students with the chance to learn, relax, and celebrate together. Additionally, the student support services are excellent, offering resources like counselling, wellness programs, and career guidance. The diversity and inclusivity of the student body contribute significantly to the positive environment. Meeting people from different backgrounds and perspectives has broadened my understanding and allowed me to grow both intellectually and personally.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The professors in my programme are not only highly qualified but also passionate about their subjects, bringing a wealth of real-world experience and academic knowledge into the classroom. They make complex topics accessible by using clear, practical examples and actively encourage critical thinking and open discussion, which enhances the learning experience. They go beyond their scheduled office hours to help students who need extra support, showing a genuine interest in each student's progress. This mentorship has been invaluable for me, as it not only aids in my understanding of the material but also motivates me to strive for excellence.

Master of Business Administration - Batch of 2018

4.6
It’s a safe place for students to study and work.
Tips: Students must know the current ongoing scenario concerning job offers and the country being flexible towards students working part-time. The toastmasters programme would help students connect with faculty members.
Likes (Safety): Considering Singapore’s strong rule and safety. The country makes it a safe place for students to study and work as well. A strong department in the country that checks even the students' passports on the go makes it completely safe and avoids illegal entry. Strong economic policies.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Permanent migration is quite a challenge unless there is strong support and a reference in the study country due to opposing government policies in migrants working in their country. The country was quite tough on migrants setting up during 2012. The salary structure is quite low compared to other countries.

JCU is a university that rewards you for what you put into it.
Tips: You can get a lot of scholarships/bond to lower the cost of tuition fees at JCU. I think I'm pretty adaptable, so transitioning to living in Singapore was not a problem at all, and while there have been highs and low lows, all in all, I'm quite happy with my university life. The faculty is very diverse and quite friendly. The course material taught is a great balance between practical and theoretical knowledge.
