BS in Statistics - Batch of 2027
3.7
Exploring my academic potential.
Tips: My transition here was surprisingly smooth and I found the city peaceful and welcoming especially compared to more fast paced cities. The orientation and first week or so here is all you'll need and you'll figure your way out. Keep time for jet lag and accommodation hunting. Classes are interesting but discussion heavy too so you'll be required to participate more.

Learning and growing each day.
Tips: Some of the programs here are intense but will leave you feeling very prepared. What stood out to me was the co op programs and the industrial experience and also the fact that Cincinnati is more affordable than most other places in the US. Limited on campus jobs and also limited time to actually dedicate to them. Great learning though.

Come prepared and you'll learn a lot.
Tips: I did not expect the work load to get this rigorous from the very beginning but I can't complain as it has truly benefited me a lot. Living in a different country has its charm of it's own; there will be days of feeling overwhelmed but the routine and people here make it easier to adjust. If you manage to get an internship here it will be easier to land a job as well but times are unpredictable so we can't really tell.

Beautiful campus situated in a quaint town with cool vibes.
Tips: This particular university has a lot of Telugu folks, which can be a language barrier for people from other states. The professors and advisors are very approachable and helpful. This school provides scholarships of around 12,000 per semester for MS Thesis programs. The VLSI track has a good set of professors and the courses are well designed.
Likes (Public transportation): The shuttle service by the university is very convenient for travelling to college. There is a bus and metro service which runs through downtown Cincinnati, at very low fares for UC students. You can travel by the metro bus for free if you sign up with your college email.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There is an Ohio diversity internship programme which allows students to gain experience through CPT, which might later convert into full time jobs. Career fairs are held but not many companies come for core VLSI ( ECE) job roles. Reaching out to seniors for referrals and through networking on LinkedIn has worked for many in this field. The average salary of alumni who got jobs is around 120,000 for a Master's.

Good for developing your career.
Tips: Academic life here is intense and can honestly feel endless depending on your programme but the professors are very established and help in restructuring your focus and ability. Courses are theory heavy so office hours and group study clubs helped me stay afloat. As for on campus jobs, you can expect to get paid around 12-18 per hour if you get one. Tips: You'll be required to be as self disciplined as possible and classes are project heavy but the TAs I have had so far have been quite helpful. When it comes to jobs on campus, you're more likely to get one as an undergraduate as compared to a post graduation. The quality of education is pretty good although the cost of tuition is on the higher side. Balancing presentations and group projects with coursework can be quite tiring but you will learn a lot in the process.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part time work has been one of the trickiest aspects for me here so far. There are limited spots hiring on campus and they are occupied super quickly. Payout is fairly decent but the time constraints and availability can cause hindrance for finding part time work.

I feel that this college is such a nice place to explore things and travel to reach our aspirations.
Tips: I've become more determined in my work since coming here. I've experienced a bit of a cultural shift, but I was looking forward to that. Unfortunately, I did not receive any scholarships. My day at UC starts with an on-campus part-time job and ends with classes. The class schedule is flexible, so students can arrange their timetable around their part-time hours. There are many types of events on campus, including regional events, blood drives, and awareness programs. There is also a wide range of student clubs and organizations that are very helpful in the growth of students. I'm really happy with the college, the course, and the country.
Dislikes (Safety): The faculty in my department are highly accessible and approachable. The teaching methodologies are unique in that the LMS has all the course modules, which allows us to preview the concepts before class. The teaching faculty is diverse in terms of nationality. I have professors from India, Japan, China, the USA, and Africa.

Amazing University but could use some help in being diverse and inclusive.
Tips: The experience was full of ups and downs. I applied to the university during the application process and was accepted. I was very satisfied with the University of Cincinnati. There are a lot of opportunities, especially for the parents and family ambassador job. The hours are very flexible. The Digital Philanthropy Associate job has fixed hours and must be followed accordingly. If you manage your time well, both jobs are pretty manageable. The starting pay rate for both jobs is 10 Dollars per hour.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are multiple companies, but not enough jobs that align with a Business Analytics major. Data analyst, tax accountant, data entry, financial modelling, risk management, insurance management, and wealth management are all positions that start at 75,000 Dollars.

University offers quality education and enriching experience.
Tips: University offers diverse programs and a vibrant campus life, with ample resources and support services for students. The inclusive environment helps ease any cultural shift. Scholarships are available based on merit. The application process is pretty straightforward.
Likes (Indian Food): There are numerous Indian restaurants in Cincinnati, and quite a few around the university campus. There's plenty of options catering to both south and north Indians. If you enjoy cooking, you can find all the ingredients at the nearest Indian grocery store.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The current market situation is not very favorable and lot of companies are looking for candidates that do not require any visa sponsorship. Quite a few of my peers from the programme are working as data/ business analyst, develops and project managers.

Student life is great here. Affordable transportation.
Tips: You won't see any cultural shift cause you try to live mostly with your community people. I received a scholarship of 4,000 $ along with admission. Our course strength is 70 so the effectiveness of teaching is more. My advice is to aim for college and courses that have less strength. In mass numbers like 600-700, it's absolutely waste of time cause maximum cases learning curve will be very low and there will be a lot of scrap around you.
Likes (Student Life): Cincinnati is affordable, and there are lot of openings for data roles in the city. Campus shuttles save you money and energy, college transportation facilities are really good. Coming to cultural activities there Indian associations led my undergrad students so they will cover the most celebrated festivities.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are lot of incoming students so it's becoming difficult to find on-campus part-time, off-campus you need to be prepared to travel for long distances. Time management depends on the course, our course had 10 subjects per semester and you can imagine how many assignments we will be dealing with on a daily basis. Average pay for part-time is 10$.

Expense-wise it is quite reasonable and with a good Co-op program.
Tips: There are scholarship chances. Apply as early as possible. In case, you don't get a scholarship apply for TA and RA positions. MS Information Systems is a fast-paced programme. You will not get to learn courses in-depth but you will get exposure to different IT domains.
Likes (Internships): The University of Cincinnati has a good Co-op programme. MS Information Systems programme has a separate career counsellor and the programme Director conducts seminars every Friday. In these seminars, he brings representatives of the companies and students get to interact with them. Also, there are Career Fair. The programme requires you to complete 24 weeks of internship to graduate so along with academics, students start looking for internships from a very early stage.

Safety is an issue. But value for money overall.
Tips: Get ready to work. Things will not be easy. There is a good possibility for you to not get a part-time. Life is not going to be easy and it will be a big shift financially. Don't forget that you came here to study, which a lot of students forget down the track. This is generally with any university.
Likes (Value for money): The cost of living is rather cheap and you get scholarships based on merit as well. Your amount of expenditure vs income opportunities and risk of a job is better weighed when compared with other universities in the same level/cadre. Scholarship opportunities are big as well.
Dislikes (Safety): The safety in Cincinnati is less. I personally experienced a lot of shooting news and situations. Recently a fellow Indian student was shot too. So always be safe. The campus is close to downtown and has a lot of drug addicts on the road which can be an issue.

Amazing campus life but tough to find part-time jobs.
Tips: The University of Cincinnati has an amazing campus, life is never mundane here. There is always something to do in this city. The main campus has scenic views. All the campuses offer several classes. There are certain requirements and expectations from each and every student. I highly enjoyed my classes here, as they were challenging yet interesting. The majority of the professors are UC graduates. They start from the basics no matter how much previous experience you have. The university is affordable and offers several scholarships. Students should apply for scholarships around the fall of their senior year, as it increases their chances of getting aid. The transportation service is not a problem here as the university has a shuttle running all over the campus on weekdays. At last, I would say that it's a pretty decent university. After graduation, there are many opportunities knocking on your door.
Likes (Indian Food): Cincinnati has many top Indian food restaurants that serve good and tasty food. However, the level of spices used is a bit less when compared to my home country, but still, it is better than any other place. The restaurants offer various Indian dishes and a great ambience. Many students try to cook food on their own even if they don't know how to cook food properly. Well, that's what I have come across while being a student. It's always better to prepare food the way you want. Also, if I put the taste preference aside, the food served in restaurants is not very healthy and is costly at the same time.
Dislikes (Part time work): It is a bit tough to find a part-time job in Ohio, but sooner or later you will land with an opportunity. Most of the students receive around $ 8 as their minimum wage after tax deductions. We can work here for up to 20 hours a week if you are an international student. Both on-campus and off-campus part-time job opportunities are available, but it is a bit difficult to get an on-campus part-time job, as many students, including the local students, digging out for the same opportunity.

Good balance between life and academics
Tips: There are a lot of opportunities to explore various clubs/activities that happen around the year. A great place to express your passion/interest and pursue hobbies other than academics. Scholarships are available by default for most of the Master's programmes. Tuition fees are friendly on the pocket. A nice city to live in beyond academic tenure.
Likes (Indian Food): Lot of Indian restaurants and other cuisine options around the university area. One will never miss Indian food if one lives nearby to the university. Pricing is reasonable as well. Food delivery options are available as well. Most of the Indian restaurants offer a buffet for lunch.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Students can apply for free metro bus pass to take rides anywhere in the city. However, connectivity to all locations might not be there, and if it does, the frequency is less. Largely, one has to rely on Uber/Lyft if you do not wish to take public transportation or own a vehicle.

Bittersweet way of Life.
Tips: New non-EU students have a heavy tuition fee of €1572 per semester. And for a small city like Ingolstadt, the cost of living is definitely high compared to eastern German cities. But then again, you’re in Bavaria, which is easily one of the most stunning parts of the country anyway.
Likes (Student Life): So many options to connect with students and enjoy. They organize programs every week. Lots and lots of diverse activities. Student groups and the Erasmus group are very strong here. Due to the Deutschland ticket, it is very easy to visit a lot of places in Bavaria on one-day trips, which feels straight out of Fairy Tale.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Not enough authentic restaurants. To be precise, none. But some frozen items at stores could be okay. (North Indian). Literally zero South Indian options. The restaurants we have (a pretty decent number for a small town) are around 5-6. But all of them are as bad as it gets.

A place where studies & exams are not stressful.
Tips: Indian students need to change their mentality of memorising and passing exams. In Germany professors expect you to learn everything rather than just memorize. Exams are very different in India and mainly focused on problem-solving. Aids are also provided in exams so that students won't have to remember lengthy formulas.
Likes (Value for money): There are no tuition fees at THI, but a service fee is charged, which is not much as compared to other countries or private universities in Germany. The mentioned service fees might have changed in 2025, so please check once. The facilities provided by the university totally justify the service fees.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Visa sponsorships are very rare, as the cost of a visa is not much, and one can easily handle it on their own. Permanent full-time job roles are very limited and not easily achievable. Salary packages for freshers are around 50-60k per year. Most freshers get the job roles in junior engineer positions. These jobs are often contract-based and are highly volatile in today's market. Getting a job on company payroll is extremely difficult for core engineering roles. Engineering & Management roles are easily available. The most important tip is to learn German till at least B1.

perfect place to get your masters degree
Tips: The cultural shifts here are real. Like, the second you step into Bavaria, you can immediately feel the difference between standard German and the local Bayerisch dialect, so definitely be ready for a bit of a language shock. Scholarship-wise, there’s actually a bunch of options you can find if you look around, but I didn't even bother applying since my semester contribution was already so cheap anyway. Honestly, I’ve just been super happy with how the whole uni is run. I’m really happy with the university overall. But if you're looking at the courses now, they've started offering a bunch of AI-focused modules, and I’d honestly suggest leaning toward those. You can just tell that's where the future of the industry is heading.
Likes (Value for money): When I did this course of master's in automotive production engineering, the feelings structure was low. I just had to pay 65 euro, which is not the fee. It's a semester contribution to the student services. But nowadays feelings are so much higher for the same course within Bayern. So for me it was value for money; I got the master's degree for just 65 euro per semester. But maybe not for upcoming students.
Dislikes (Internships): My degree program didn't actually require a formal internship, so I don't have that specific corporate placement on my record. That said, I was working part-time on the side for a company that paid me really well because of what I was learning in my master's. So I still got a ton of solid, hands-on work experience during my studies anyway. But there are opportunities in this; it has so many programs where they hire students for internships.

Dislikes (Part time work): Hard to find student jobs if you don't speak good German. You can find opportunities off campus, but it's hard to find jobs on campus even if you are good at academics. If one can take the student pass monthly, it can be as cheap as 35 euro or so. No trams in the city yet, but the buses are mostly punctual and cover most important areas, including the city center and residential locations.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The permanent settlement status all depends upon receiving the full-time job contact and according to the minimum Blue Card salary limit of Germany. Although the process is lengthy and depends upon the city. Big cities like Berlin/Munich take longer to process visa status. Given a chance, I would consider.

Life as an International Student at Technical University Ingolstadt
Tips: Look, the reality is that learning German isn't just a bonus anymore. It’s a flat-out necessity if you want to find a part-time job or anything full-time here. Having some actual work experience under your belt is another massive help because the market is just getting insanely crowded right now. I see tons of students constantly striking out on basic internships and student gigs mostly because they don't know the language or they’re just missing the right skills.
Likes (Safety): Public transport is reliable and safe; emergency services respond quickly, as there was an instance where I had to call emergency services. There are rules and systems in place everywhere. People usually respect rules and personal space. In the campus at the start of the semester, especially for girls, they provide classes for their safety and well-being.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Studying at THI has been great, and Germany definitely has a lot of potential but honestly trying to figure out your future here is a stressful waiting game. Dealing with the endless visa paperwork, the language barrier, and trying to land a secure, long-term job can feel completely overwhelming. Even after you graduate the whole process of figuring out how to actually stay here permanently feels super confusing and complicated. It’s definitely not a smooth or easy road.

A Rewarding Journey with Great Learning and Growth Opportunities
Tips: If you're planning to join THI, the absolute first thing you need to accept is that you are going to be doing a massive amount of self-study. Do not expect the professors to spoon-feed you the material—the academic workload is heavy and completely on you to figure out. On that note, learning German before you step foot in Ingolstadt isn't just a recommendation, it's a flat-out survival requirement. The market here is incredibly competitive right now, and if you don't speak the language, you are going to struggle hard. Honestly, look at the career side of things: finding internships and post-study jobs here feels almost impossible, and the university doesn't really give you a safety net. Don't come here expecting a scholarship either; I didn't get a single cent, so you need your finances locked down. That said the university itself is fantastic in other ways. The faculty members are top-notch, highly experienced, and super supportive. Plus, Ingolstadt is incredibly safe, and the public transportation system is flawless—getting around is completely stress-free. Adapting to life here takes some work; hitting the ground running with student groups and part-time gigs is the best way to blend in, though adjusting to German punctuality and the strict timeline shift is a bit of a culture shock at first. Oh, and definitely brace yourself to cook at home, because the local food choices from back home are pretty much nonexistent. Overall, if you can handle the independent grind, Germany offers great long-term potential, but you have to work for it.

Industry oriented learning with strong opportunities for Automotive Engineering students in Germany
Tips: TH Ingolstadt is industry-focused, especially for automotive and engineering. Practical learning and self-study are important. Moving to Germany was exciting but challenging due to culture, language, and lifestyle changes. I adapted over time and became more independent. I did not take any scholarships. Most students manage expenses through part-time jobs or internships. Overall I'm satisfied with my university and experience.

The college is pretty good and welcoming.
Tips: There was a little cultural shift but the transition was smooth. Initially it takes some time to get used to day-to-day life in Ingdstadt. I did not avail any scholarship, but there are scholarship options available. Pretty satisfied. Faculty at university are pretty good and supportive.
Likes (Internships): Many students from our university got internships. But there is no specific guidance from the university as such students apply on their own but most of them are successful in finding internships and working student jobs. It is helpful if you have any previous experience to get an internship.

Great faculty and a vibrant campus.
Tips: Enrol in language classes early as only 20-25 students are allowed for a level. Management helps with any problem regarding mental health, scholarships, integration into German society, language and visa issues. Just email them or book one on one session online.
Likes (Value for money): The tuition fee is minimal, but it has increased to around 500 euros per semester in recent months. You can use jobs to manage other expenses. Lifestyle expenses can be managed with part time jobs. Jobs are sometimes scarce in winter time, but there are apps on which you can book shifts.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Social life is a very important part of my life and given the language barrier and cold temperatures half the time, it’s hard to manage. You can permanently immigrate if you meet the minimum earning criteria and you have language skills. I would not immigrate permanently.

Ingolstadt is an industrial city with a huge number of students.
Tips: The first few days here were tricky, that's obvious with a new country and a new language. Learning German is the first thing I'd recommend before coming here even though the course is in English. The course work of my degree has undergone several changes starting WS25/26. The subjects included in the new coursework are incredibly helpful in all round development of vehicles.
Dislikes (Part time work): Ingolstadt is an industrial city with a huge number of students studying in two Universities. This results in almost all positions being filled at all times. Language is an important requirement for most. Work is manageable as nobody is allowed to work past 20 hours a week during the study period. The average payout is usually 13-15 an hour.

Strong academics with good industry exposure.
Tips: Students should understand the course structure. Most of the programme is quite technical so strong basics are important. The university location is very important because most working students/ internship are available in or near major cities. In this case, Ingolstadt is well located between Munich and Nuremberg, so many working students / Internship opportunities are available. Also check availability part-time jobs in the city. For technical course students, they must attend lectures regularly; otherwise, they may face difficulties in the exam and risk failing. Each subject allows only 3 attempts, and if a student cannot clear it within these attempts, they are removed from the course as per university rules. The university also offers language courses every semester. Students should take advantage of these opportunities, as they are free and very beneficial. My transition was mostly smooth. A major cultural difference I notice is that weekends are much quieter here and most shops are closed. I did not receive any scholarship. Overall, I am satisfied with my university, course and country. My course is more theory - focused, I would be more satisfied if it included more practical subjects.
Likes (Indian Food): Indian food is easily available in my city. There are around 15-20 restaurants nearby, along with many other options such as Italian. Turkish, German, and Asian cuisines, so food variety is not an issue. The typical price at most of restaurants is about 15-20 euros per person. Personally, I prefer cooking at home because it is more economical. I usually eat outside only occasionally, mainly on special days. Grocery easily available here, which makes home cooking convenient.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The automotive market in Germany is currently going through a transition phase. Many automotive companies are reducing production in some areas and shifting certain operations to other countries. Because of these situations the job market has become more competitive compared to earlier years. I am studying International Automotive Engineering with a major in automotive safety and electronics. The opportunities after graduation are available, but they are becoming more niche and depend heavily on the automotive industry. Germany Offers 18 months jobs seeking visa after graduation. Many companies hire international graduates. I don't know the exact number of companies that formally sponsor work visas. Typical job roles offered in my field include functional safety, Testing and validation engineer, ADAS, System engineer and embedded systems. For fresher salary range is 45,000 to 60,000 euros per year.

Active and highly engaging classes.
Tips: You have to learn a lot of things on your own. Nobody will spoon feed you. There is no campus selection in any German university. All the professors are very supportive and knowledgeable. Start learning from the start. Never rely on online lectures only and always clear your doubts.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The professor are or were working with the top companies and have hand on experience in their field and have awareness of what is really needed to become successful engineer. They are very helpful and encouraging to students. Basic knowledge of the topic is expected of them.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): For the last few years, the job market in germany is not that great especially in the automotive sector. There is a lot of competition and less openings in the company. If you are sure that you want to come, then learning German is beneficial.

Best place for international students who are looking to do masters in Automotive.
Tips: I would recommend learning German eventhough course is in English which would highly help in fetching an internship and work student. No strict class timings, friendly atmosphere, etc, will keep you motivated to learn and engage practically rather than reading only books.
Likes (Post study jobs): Part time job available as work student in college and outside college you can also find. Salary package depends on the job you get. In restaurant if you work for 4-5 hours per hour, it would be around 10-15 euros. If it's a work student, you would get around 450 per month.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I would prefer mensa (college canteen) where you get Bavarian food (local German food), so that you can plan and attend your classes accordingly. Of course you have the option to go to Indian restaurants nearby but expensive during college days. Nearby you will find different local restaurants and also Indian restaurants. But being a student, I would recommend mensa food which is good and you don't need to go outside the college as well.

Practical oriented; friendly staff.
Tips: You will find so many students from our country. I didn't avail scholarship but there is one scholarship available you need to check after getting admit there. Germany is a nice country and our university is very practically oriented and the course is also good and there is an updated course too.
Likes (Post study jobs): In Germany, you will not get sponsorship if you get a work visa. Only when you are going for a job then they will sponsor you or else you have to fund it yourself, from your salary. You will get so many roles in Germany because Germany doesn't want your degree; they need your skills. And salary is actually based on that basis and also your past experience.
Dislikes (Indian Food): We are Indian and we need spicy food but you will not get it in Ingolstadt so you will definitely miss it. And if you want to go to some Indian restaurant, it will cost you around 30 per person. Cook your food by yourself. So you will get our food test.

The campus is very well connected.
Tips: I have been exposed to new technologies, methodologies, knowledge and industrial experience. I didn't get any scholarship. The university should provide more facilities, course is aligned with Industrial practices, and the country should work more on its economy.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus is very well connected via bus. The city is very well connected to Munich and Nuremberg. Although the Deutschland ticket has increased in 2026, the public transport is still quite affordable and the frequency and convenience are also very good.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): Moderately approachable, but some professors are very strict with making an appointment and won't tolerate you outside of that. Practical and industry-based teaching, the faculty has a great industrial exposure. 99% German faculty. We had an Indian professor for one subject.

Highly academic and good value for money.
Tips: A manageable cultural shift, learnt to cook better, became more social. No scholarships were availed. Highly satisfied with the university and course but mixed feelings for the country due to a huge language barrier and difficult job market. Once you manage to get a job, the country suddenly seems highly satisfied.
Likes (Value for money): For me there was absolutely no fee just 60 EUR/sem. Now the fees have increased to 1500 EUR/sem which is still highly justified with the quality of knowledge, labs, professors, facilities and other academics. The project's topics, the thesis topics, and the international diversity are what make it even more fit for value for money.
Dislikes (Internships): Since there is no mandatory internship obligation in the course, so students need to find their own internships. The biggest challenge is the language. There is a separate institute (InES) under THI, where students can work under a professor to work as a student assistant jobs however it is usually difficult to get this job. Apart from this, students can have a good relationship with the professor for potential future referrals from the professor while applying to universities. Many jobs are within the field of study only barrier is the language.

Consider your dreams, not market demands.
Tips: With the living experience in Germany I can strongly say that any individual should only consider their dreams and interests towards a specific subject or course instead of going around market demands. It matters even if you stay in India as well. But Germany values every citizen employee and their time. So don't think in a stereotypical manner that Germany is only for cars.
Likes (Safety): Till today, I haven't seen any native or other EU members deliberately targeting the Indian students. And when it comes to safety, mostly foreign patrol vehicles will roam around the region. Public transportation is pretty well accessible next to the university. When it comes to safety, you don't have to worry, especially in Bavaria, Germany.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Mostly Indian students prefer cooking for themselves, because they can't afford the price. But from time to time, there are a lot of restaurants to explore. I think every individual can savour their tongue with multiple flavours around the globe here in Ingolstadt.
