I really don’t think this is the college I wanted.
Tips: Think 100 times before coming to this university. It doesn’t have a campus. Most of the time they don't have alternate options for help. In the first month, I thought to change my university for the very first time. There are better options like the University of Queensland, QUT and Griffith.
Likes (Safety): This city has best safety options. All the safety services are available all the time for students so that they can feel safe. Everyone is very helpful. They never turned their back on us. There are protective services for school students all the time.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I don’t think this university has that many options. It doesn’t have any collaboration with industry-level mentors and organisations. They don’t have proper employment programs as well. University website just has the organization name and it only redirects to their website.

The education is good an is completely based on assignments.
Tips: There was a cultural shift as I came from India. The digital era had not hit India yet, but Australia had already been hit. The education is completely based on assignments, which are online assignments made on Word files and Excel as well. I got a 25% scholarship based on my merit back from my home country. The education is very interactive here, which makes every cent feel worth it, and the course aligns with my interest in becoming a CPA. The country is way better than expected, and the people are way nicer than I expected Aussies to be.
Likes (Student Life): My day at college starts with a coffee served in the morning, and I attend my first lecture at 9 am. Then I get a two-hour break, which gives me time to roam around the city and enjoy the scenery of Darling Harbour. I enjoy the community of teachers the most; it makes studying there a real pleasure. There are a lot of events, and they even have a special movie day every other Wednesday, so you can watch any movie with your buddies and hang out on the couches, munching on snacks. I haven't joined any clubs yet, but I'm thinking of joining the table tennis club.
Dislikes (Indian Food): If you plan to live in Sydney, the nearby community will mostly be of Australian or Lebanese origin. The Indian population is significantly smaller there than in Melbourne or other parts of Australia. However, even though the Indian population is small, you'll find a variety of good food options nearby. I highly recommend immersing yourself in all the cultures in the area.

A good quality education with affordable fees.
Tips: I have transitioned from a shy student to a great communicator. Darwin has a smaller Indian community compared to other states, which meant I didn't have the chance to celebrate all the festivals. I received a 30% scholarship from CDU, directly provided by the university. While I am not fully satisfied with my course due to the limited job opportunities in my field, I am fully satisfied with my choice of country.
Likes (Part time work): CDU offers limited on-campus part-time jobs, but there are many off-campus opportunities. While some students find it challenging to secure part-time work, it's manageable to balance a part-time job with studies. The average pay rate is around $28, varying by job type and position. Casual positions generally offer higher pay than regular part-time roles.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Darwin offers limited job opportunities for graduates compared to other states like Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, and Adelaide. While some administrative roles are available for graduates, the salary typically ranges around 65k.

A supportive and culturally rich learning experience.
Tips: Before joining, students should know that the college offers strong academic support, a diverse faculty and excellent campus life. Transitioning here was smooth. Though I did experience a positive cultural shift with more independence and diversity. I did not avail of any scholarships, but I am highly satisfied with my university course and studying in Australia.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): The campus offers a vibrant and welcoming environment. I enjoy spending time, attending classes, studying with friends and participating in the cultural events and workshops. The campus hosts regular activities like festivals.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Faculty is highly knowledgeable, supportive and approachable. They use interactive teaching methods like real-world case studies, practical labs, and group discussions. The department also has faculty from diverse nationalities.

Charles Darwin University offers a well-rounded experience with strong academics.
Tips: The university offers a supportive and diverse environment, but students should be prepared for high living cost and a fast-paced academic system. I am highly satisfied with my course and life in Australia. Furthermore, I secured a merit scholarship upon applying for the course.
Likes (Part time work): As a student, your day is full of classes, study sessions, and socialising in the campus lunchroom or cafe. While there weren't any student clubs when I began, there are now established clubs with cultural societies and professional groups that foster engagement and growth.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The expertise, innovative teaching methods, and dedication to student success are noteworthy. Faculty maintain open communication during office hours, creating a supportive environment. Their unique methodology, incorporating problem-based learning and technology integration, enhances critical thinking and practical application skills.

Supportive, diverse, and career-focused learning experience.
Tips: Students should be prepared for a relaxed, multicultural environment and a tropical climate. I adapted well after a brief cultural adjustment and am satisfied with my course, university, and life in Australia, especially with the support from my scholarship.
Likes (Part time work): Part-time jobs are fairly accessible both on and off campus, offering flexible hours that accommodate academic schedules. The average pay ranges from AUD 25-30 per hour, providing effective support for living expenses. These jobs also offer significant support for covering living costs and gaining valuable local work experience, which is beneficial for future growth.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The faculty at Charles Darwin University is knowledgeable and supportive, but consistency varies across units. Their practical teaching methods and cultural diversity enrich the learning experience and significantly enhance the overall academic experience.

I feel this university is good. Darwin campus is good and the faculty too.
Tips: I have experienced a cultural shift after moving here. I went to an event after my 1st semester. It was good, I met interesting people there also some good faculty members form different departments. I got scholarships with my PTE grade. I am satisfied with the University and with the course that I am pursuing.
Dislikes (Part time work): The faculty is good for students. And about the part-time jobs, they are less because of the student visa not many part-time jobs are here. It is manageable to do part-time work along with studies.
