Strong internship support with room for improvement.
Tips: The campus is very good, and it has a strong academic environment. The university is research-focused. The support for internships is good, but there is definitely room for improvement in that area. This is a good school, and in this area, I think it's the best. The career fairs and job fairs provide a good way to find internships, and the school provides a lot of support. It's cool that Career Connect can help students find good internships and help students with their resumes.

The University of Colorado Denver has good research-oriented programs.
Tips: The University of Colorado Denver has good research-oriented programs, and is also a good place for someone who is passionate about research and has personal projects of their own. I have enjoyed my courses quite a lot as I am very dedicated in learning about environmental sustainability, and this campus has provided me with the perfect place to explore my potential. The vibe is quite relaxed and it is a peaceful place to live in. Public transportation is highly accessible and affordable, and with the help of a bus card, you can save a lot of money. I had so far enjoyed my time here.

Truly enriching place to learn and grow professionally.
Tips: As a business student, the overall experience and exposure I have gotten here has been both helpful and one of a kind. The student body is very diverse, and I have fostered connections that would last a lifetime. There are a number of fellow Indians as well, and the food options have been great too. This is a good place to further your education if you are an innovative and curious individual.

Great place to explore and find your potential.
Tips: I came here with a number of expectations and the university did not disappoint. The community abroad is friendly, inclusive, yet individualistic, so it's important that you learn how to respect boundaries while also involving yourself in activities and sports that would give you a real sense of the college spirit. The engineering programs have some renewed faculty, and students are encouraged to think out of the box and participate as much as they can. Also, make sure to build some connections as it will significantly help you to grow professionally. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the course, university and the country.

It has been a great learning process. The campus is diverse and vibrant.
Tips: I have grown a lot as an individual and become much more self-reliant than I could have ever imagined after coming here. The people have been kind and the campus has some scenic views to enjoy as well. The weather is quite perfect if you are an outdoorsy individual, and there are regular celebrations for Indian students organised by the international student community such as for Diwali, Holi, etc. Faculty are highly qualified and understanding. The classes are fun, interactive, and engaging. Overall, I have had a great experience studying here so far.

University of Colorado Denver provides good opportunity to grow.
Tips: The initial few weeks of college will be spent in getting to know the place, people, and adjusting to the time difference. If you are staying on campus, then make it a point to introduce yourself to the president counselor who will help you out with most of your accommodation and logistical situations. The faculty are welcoming and will guide you through the semester. Staff and people here are friendly, fun and love to socialise. Overall, I would say it’s been a great experience here.

Lots of learning and growth with diverse faculty and supportive peers.
Tips: The culture of Colorado is extremely immersive even though it takes a while to settle in so I would recommend one to arrive on campus before the orientation so they can truly understand what is needed and what to expect. As an undergrad, your SAT scores can determine whether you get in or not but once you've arrived, you are expected to contribute to society in non-academic ways as well which makes this truly a one-of-a-kind experience. The faculty are helpful and understanding so feel free to reach out to them in case of any queries or doubts. Also, try to contribute in classes and be creative. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the course and the university.

Thrilling place to learn and grow.
Tips: You must come with an open mind and align your goals according. Keep regular contact with your peer mentors, faculty in charge and guidance counsellor as they help in make your way to post-graduate studies after university. For the first year, you can sign up for a meal plan as that saves time and convenience. The classes are fun, engaging and highly interactive and there are lots of on-campus events and activities so do participate in them. Overall, I am highly satisfied with my experiences.

3.5
Good place, good facilities and friendly faculty.
Tips: The biggest issue here, at least in my case, was the limited options for housing and accommodation, especially on campus. It is crucial to find an ideal form of housing near campus, and it may not be the best idea to opt for an off-campus option through the internet as there has been a rise in scams. The classes are engaging, and participation is a must. Although there are part-time work options available, and ideally, it is recommended to have some kind of part-time occupation to meet the expenses here, the availability of work is limited and time-consuming, which is not a feasible option if you have a challenging major or programme. Overall, I am highly satisfied with my experiences.

Vibrant campus, diverse faculty and interactive classes.
Tips: The campus is filled with people of all sorts, and there seems to be an endless buzz when you enter. There is an abundance of activities in and around here and it is hard to resist these at times. I did not avail of any scholarship although there have been a few introduced based on both need-based and merit-based, which you need to plan for in advance before you apply. The classes are engaging and the faculty are highly cooperative, and helpful and will guide you with the assignments. Overall, I am highly satisfied with my experiences, the country and the university.

Lot of activities and great learning environment.
Tips: The best part of staying here is easily the student life. The faculty is cooperative and will guide you with your classes and assignments. The coursework is updated, and the classes are engaging. The community is not so welcoming and friendly, but it helps you care about your niche and follow your passion, which makes the whole college experience intangible. Make sure you have your I-20 form and documents in order, as you will need them on more than one occasion, and you can request a peer mentor for extra assistance if you may feel the need.

Tips: The faculty here is both passionate and pretty knowledgeable as well. A lot of programs are research-based, and you might be asked to present a thesis for some of the courses based on your degree as well. The campus is beautiful, and there is always something to do or explore, such as local food fests, concerts and more. There is an international student community who have helped and ensured that students like us can navigate and settle down easily. Overall, I am satisfied with the course, country and the university.

Welcoming faculty and many on-campus cultural activities are held.
Tips: I did transition after coming here because of the welcoming environment and the international student community who have helped ensure that students like us are able to navigate and settle down. During applications, you can expect different levels of competitiveness based on the major you are opting for and the campuses as well. The faculty has been helpful so far. Surprisingly, Indian food here is truly exceptional and quite popular among Americans and Indians. You can find a number of Indian restaurants and eateries that too off different cuisines and you will not be disappointed. I make it a point to visit some of them at least once a week. It’s a good university but it is very difficult to find part time and internship.
Tips: You will need to hustle a lot for internships and part-time as there are many international students and foreigners and it's quite competitive. I recommend starting searching for it as soon as you come to the university and from the first day of your classes only. The country and the university are quite safe because of the continuous patrolling and security presence. There are security guards at the train station and emergency security guards on campus, which helps students feel safe and surrounded by people.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are very few part-time jobs available, and students are quite competitive. Even internships are hard to come by. If you don't get an internship, you might have to pay extra for summer classes.

A multicultural learning hub in Downtown Denver
Tips: I have started interacting with people from diverse backgrounds. This has made me more confident. People here enjoy privacy and usually like to be left alone. You need to maintain basic etiquette in public spaces. You need to follow rules all the time. I am getting a stipend for the role of teaching assistant. I got the role by contacting my graduate advisor. I am satisfied with the course and university because of the personalized attention that professors give me. They help you to really learn and become successful.
Likes (Indian Food): There are Mexican, Indian, Chinese, and Thai joints almost everywhere. Downtown Denver has many fast-food chains as well. I cook on weekdays. i.e outside once a week. The cost of per meal outside for one person is around $10 to $20. You also get a variety of food stores within the campus.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fees is on the higher side for international students. Each 3-credit course is around $4200. The average cost per semester is around $12000. However, students can manage the cost with part-time work and scholarships. Students have access to various facilities such as a gym, library, printing services, medical services etc.

Eventful University experience wrapped in decent city vibes.
Tips: Though the University experience is decent, getting scholarships or financial aid is a little tricky here. The first semester, especially if you do not know anyone here could be challenging to figure out things. Denver as a city is nice, and worth the living cost.
Likes (Indian Food): There are a handful of Indian restaurants and grocery stores. I prefer cooking by myself. There are also Middle Eastern places that serve good food. Konark Grocers has all Indian grocery items including vegetables, biscuits and snacks.
Dislikes (Internships): To secure an internship, one needs to actively apply from the second semester onwards. Though there are career fairs at school, the applying part is totally on the student. We have a career center that helps with resumes. Not much guidance is provided by the University.

Tips: I was skeptical at first and unsure about what to expect, but the student association made it a lot easier to adjust here. One of the biggest advantages of my major has been how valuable the study groups have proven to be. There are numerous collaborative spaces and research labs to get you a true experience of academia. The country is welcoming to international students as well. Faculty are understanding and even help us out with our assignment and research. There are very few job opportunities available for international students.
Tips: Studying here taught me how to slow down and truly absorb everything that is going on. Here, I got a lot of time to truly learn, grow and reflect. The downside is that there are close to no jobs and openings for international students, and a lot of research funding has been cut, which is making it seem like a somewhat hostile landscape right now. Detroit is a couple of hours away, and we would make it a point to go there every two weeks for supplies and entertainment.

The university is good with highly educated lecturers with affordable tuition.
Tips: Central Michigan University is a good and top university with highly educated lecturers with affordable tuition fees. The faculty is good, and everything depends on us. There are a lot of opportunities on campus that relate to technical studies. You can explore as much as you can, and all of the faculty will be so friendly and helpful in academics, as well as in preparing and motivating you to participate in any of the hackathons or webinars. Try to participate as many times as you can, and you will find good opportunities with connections. On-campus part-time work is available if you apply in advance. I would definitely recommend the university to international students, but again, it depends on you to land a high-paying job or not.

Great learning environment with cultural exposure.
Tips: CMU offers a strong Master's in Information Systems programme with practical learning. Adjusting to the cultural shift was initially challenging but rewarding. I received a graduate assistantship that helped with tuition and living costs.

The student life is very diverse and the faculty helps you to grow big in your professional life.
Tips: Initially, I came for the August 2022 intake and I stayed on campus for the first semester and had a lot of American friends over there and also made Indian friends in classes then moved off campus in the second semester which helped me save some money. People in Mount Pleasant are warm and welcoming, and there is no crime rate. We don't specifically have any scholarships for international students but I highly recommend students apply for graduate assistance as they will be selected if they score a good grade in the semester in all subjects so that they will be waving one subject fee in the next semester and it repeats every year if you continue as a graduate assistant. On a scale of 10, I would rate 8 for CMU in terms of university subjects, accommodation and the environment.
Likes (Quality of faculty): For Masters in Information Systems, we have highly qualified professionals who make understanding the subject very easy as they will clarify your doubts and also help you with the assignment doubts. The core structure will be divided into parts in such a way that from the understanding of the class you have to do assignments weekly and there will be tests every month all over the semester and one final exam. Every assignment and in-class activity will be evaluated and given a score at the end so I highly recommend not to miss any class. Here, I felt a different way of teaching style as compared to India. The professors at CMU will explain a topic and at the same time make you do the assignments based on the concepts they have told us so that we will be able to grasp them quickly and get hands-on experience on the topic.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Central Michigan University is located in Mount Pleasant. Here there are no Indian restaurants or stores where people from India can try so we have to rely on American food such as McD, Burger King etc.
To have Indian food we have to travel to the nearest big city Lansing which is an hour's drive from Mount Pleasant or Detroit ( Farmington Hills ) which is a two-hour drive, where we can explore a lot of Indian cuisine and grocery stores, that is the reason why I chose one star for country food in Mount Pleasant. You can try Qdoba or Chipotle as these tastes will be the nearest to Indian food. A bowl will cost around 12- 20 $ depending on what your protein toppings are. As we don't have a lot of Indian options around Mount Pleasant we almost cook at home and invite friends over weekends to cook biryanis. Once every month we go outings to Lansing to have Indian food and watch movies.

Serenity but challenging
Tips: Campus is really huge so it's good for walking. College conducts a lot of activities so it's fun and students can enjoy. CMU could be the best option if you are looking for courses with reasonable fees and low living expenses. However, if someone is looking high standard and wanna see US life then I doubt CMU can be a good fit.
Likes (Student Life): Mount Pleasant city is mainly known for Central Michigan University so we only see people on main campus. There is nothing much to do outside campus. There is no single Indian restaurant in Mt Pleasant. However, there are places nearby where you can roam around but need to look for public transport if you don't have a private vehicle which is again a big problem. There is nothing much in Mt Pleasant but CMU is the main reason for being in Mt Pleasant. College conduct a lot of activities so students can enjoy their time in campus.
Dislikes (Public transportation): There is only one public transport iRide which has fixed spots for pickup and drop. For commute, need to schedule in advance and waiting time is too long. It's ok during summer but really challenging during winter because of snowfall. Most of graduates' classes are in evening and there is no public transport after 8 pm. After 8 pm there is only one which is at 10 pm and nothing in between 8-10 pm.

I like CMU and never thought I made a wrong decision.
Tips: Life here is not as shown in movies. Prepare for the worst and you will survive not only here but in any other part of the world. Part-time jobs take time but you need to be patient. You can apply from India and come over here and work immediately. The climate here is very cold be prepared when you arrive. You can buy winter clothes here so don't buy winter clothes or a laptop if you don't have one.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty are approachable and they welcome any sort of disagreement in the class. I have fun attending and learning things, it is way different from India. The assignments are not heavy but still make your whole week busy. To meet the faculty you need to make a prior appointment and it's complex at times but the best thing is to get your doubts clarified once the class is finished. Faculty will spend extra time if you ask questions after class.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The place where I live doesn't have any Indian stores but the food can be managed if you can cook with what you get. Try to bring spices and a cooker from India and, if possible, avoid salt and sugar for immigration purposes. Food is not that big issue here you will adjust.

Hard to find part-time work.
Tips: Don't panic. The moment you enter the university seeing new people. Stay calm and join any student association they will help you in your hour of need. There are Indian stores nearby. There is so many Indian students association available. These are things students should know.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Most of the faculty in this university have high knowledge in their field. Some professors are doing research in their field that would benefit the students under the faculty. The faculty is very jovial and friendly with the students. They are supporting students in every way possible.
Dislikes (Part time work): Nowadays it is very competitive to get work. The only place you can do part-time is in college that too from 1st year 2nd sem. You will get that job only if your academics are high and with the connections you made with the seniors and with the faculty. Most of the cases getting part-time is hard.
