Tips: Highly International Peer Group: The institution of DBS is extremely famous among international students. This university provides a multiracial environment for its students due to the diversity of the classrooms. Being different from huge traditional institutions that have large campuses, the DBS campus is located in the middle of Dublin city and has small buildings.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus is situated in the middle of the city. Easy toreach from any part of Dublin County via the public transportation services. Also, the public transportation offers discounted charges for students as well. The availability of transportation is also very good.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Opportunities are very few. Companies sponsoring visas are very few. Even if companies offer jobs in the field, the chances of lay offs arr very less even if they do the sponsorship. Only a few companies offer internships, rarely do students get sponsorship at the same company.

Overall, my experience at DBS has been good.
Tips: Before joining DBS, you need to understand that it’s an urban college, not a traditional green-field campus. The buildings are spread across central Dublin—mainly around Aungier Street and George's Street—so instead of hanging out on a quad, your campus is basically the city itself. That's a massive advantage when it comes to location. You're minutes away from major employers, Grafton Street retail, and endless cafés, making it way easier to hunt for part-time jobs.
You get direct access to Dublin’s transport network with LUAS stops, Dublin Bus routes, and DART connections right on your doorstep. Just keep in mind that living in central Dublin comes with high housing costs, so sorting out accommodation early is crucial. If you prefer a fast-paced, city-integrated learning environment over a isolated campus bubble, DBS is a great fit.

Kind of national school..
Tips: DBS was kind of a college where you would find more Asians than Irish. You would feel there is not much difference. No such cultural shift. Less international vibe. The country is beautiful, though. Irish people are very friendly. I would say very little to no racism. Although it depends where you are living, the area or locality. They won't make you feel that you don't belong here.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus is in the city center. Public transport is easily available. Buses or trains are available and are affordable. The city center is well connected. The campus is well connected with public transport, but it is very slow. For just 10-12 km, it would take around an hour. Not very convenient.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The Irish market is very small. The population is increasing at a fast rate due to a lot of immigration. The market is very competitive. People having 4-5 years of experience are competing for the graduate roles. People do get hired, but a good connection is needed. The market is more about the referrals and connections. The job roles are mostly about IT and finance. And for finance, there are a lot of job opportunities.

Industry focused learning with great exposure.
Tips: 1. Transition wasn’t hard at all; considering my fluency in English, I never felt uncomfortable. Yes, there was a cultural shift, a massive one in fact. With how the work culture is, it definitely was nice to see that. Else, I fit in perfectly. 2. I didn't; it’s hard to get scholarships. Very rarely would you get one. 3. I am very satisfied with the university; in the future it will be a big name in Dublin for sure. The country in general is quite a difficult one to live in since it has a housing crisis. Plus, living expenses in general are very expensive, so I’d think twice before making a journey here.
Likes (Value for money): Yes, the tuition course fee is justified. If you look at other colleges around Dublin, their prices are lucratively high. Most faculties are literally the same all over Dublin; the only difference is the brand name, i.e., the college's name. DBS has great facilities plus professors, so yeah, it’s justified for the fees they charge.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Most restaurants based near the college are Irish-based, and I prefer eating food that has real taste. Honestly, Irish food or European cuisine is no match for our Indian cuisine. I prefer cooking myself and eating it, since I back my cooking even more than takeout or restaurants.

Well-located college with strong academics, smooth transition, and solid academic experience.
Tips: Don't expect a job on completion of the course because the job market is very volatile. Try to get experience in your relevant field before coming. Employers prefer EU candidates because of visa sponsorship. As per the 2025 salary thresholds, they have been changed, so it's very hard to find jobs.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): As a postgraduate student in Dublin finding an internship opportunity is quite challenging. The college provides very limited guidance or structured support for identifying and applying for internships. Many internships are targeted towards undergraduate or full time Bachelors students and a few are aligned with postgraduate programs. As a result students struggle to gain practical industry exposure alongside their studies. But if you gain some work experience the average salary is pretty decent and also the quality of life is good. So if you find a job then it would be an awesome place to settle.
Dislikes (Indian Food): As I'm from India, we basically love spicy foods and it's hard to find indian spicy food in Ireland and even if we find it's costlier so I miss Indian food a lot. You can eat outside if you are okay with spending money lavishly but if you're on a budget then eating out would be a problem for you.

Honestly, if you're coming here primarily for work and settling down, DBS is the best option.
Tips: Managing study and job makes you a really responsible person.
Irish people are really good and they respect all cultures, and Christmas is fun here. I received a 1,000-euro scholarship from DBS. I completed an MBA in Finance, it's really good but just an MBA is not enough, you need to do extra courses like ACCA, CFA, QFA to get sponsorship, all the expenses are covered by employers if you are hired or you need to spend by yourself.
Likes (Public transportation): Transportation is very good as there are many routes to travel to college, a free cycle for 30 min within the city centre and 1 euro to travel anywhere inside Dublin. Luas Bus, Trams and Government Cycle are very affordable as over here you need to travel for jobs and college.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are a few companies that give sponsorship and mainly financial, credit, risk analyst and accountant, so just a Master's is not enough here to enter the job market one needs to be able to learn more skills to get sponsorship as critical skills include ACCA AND CFA.

Dublin is generally safe and student friendly and I feel secure travelling in and around the city. Apart from campus security, safety is ensured through well-lit street lights, CCTV, reliable public transport, emergency services and Garda presence.

Tips: I am happy to choose Ireland and experience cultural differences. People are really nice and helpful. I got a scholarship of 1Lakh. Satisfaction with college. I am quite happy with DBS, because the fees are low and gets good quality of education.
Likes (Part time work): There are moderate level on-campus jobs like IT support and librarians. We need to find it through Indeed and LinkedIn. It is quite manageable. As students need to do only 20 minutes/week part time job and I have 3 days of college with a variable of 1 to 3 lectures per day. The good thing is college is providing workshops for getting part time jobs and full time job. This workshop includes how to present ourselves in front of HR. Even my college has a LinkedIn page where mentors are continuously posting about vacancies. Seniors are friendly to help with searching. Average payout for the part-time - minimum is 13.5 euros/ hr and max is 15 or 16 euros/hr, depending on job requirement.
Dislikes (Internships): I would say many students go for part time job opportunities rather than internships. Because compare to part time getting an internship is hard. As a part of the business school my academic year is going really productive, we are getting guidance from DBS Career Hub.

Likes (Public transportation): This college is located in the city centre which is the main place in Dublin so transport will not be a problem. There will be a direct bus to the city centre and there will also be more stops each stop will be close to the other. A Leap card is used here to pay for the bus and for students it will cost 1 euro per scan.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Getting jobs here depends on the students, it requires experience and knowledge about the field in which they want to work. The salary package for jobs starts from 12 euros (1200 inr) per hour. Get some work experience and I also suggest to do internships.

Tips: For students who have 5 plus years of experience in India and are planning to join this college, it will be a good tag to be added to a CV for the education section. For Finance and Accounting students, start preparing to take the ACCA or ACA exams in India itself. If students do not have these certifications, then the company will not consider hiring them further. I got a 1000 euros scholarship, as every student gets one in general. Students are going to get an international exposure in Ireland. I am satisfied with my course curriculum and teaching faculty. Nowadays, the number of international students has increased drastically in Ireland, so it has become more challenging to secure a job here.
Likes (Indian Food): A lot of Indian and Pakistani restaurants are available. Sometimes I eat outside. In this busy schedule, it is very hard to manage to cook for myself at home. Mostly, preparing meals on the weekends. Also, in Dublin city, Indian tiffins provide a tiffin service to those who are struggling to prep a meal.
Dislikes (Internships): College is not a source for internships; they can only provide a list of available jobs, as per LinkedIn. Don't rely on the college; students will need to make new connections through LinkedIn or by attending workshops here. There are a lot of graduate roles in the specific field of study that will help the students to gain Irish experience, or to be included in their resume.

Make sure to have some experience before joining.
Tips: No scholarships. There is definitely a cultural shift; Irish culture and people are generally nice. There are no laws for underage kids, which can be dangerous.
I am not satisfied, paying a bit more makes sense as you would learn more from an educational standpoint.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus is in the city centre and is reachable from all directions. For students, public transportation seems fine and affordable; buses, Dart, and Luas are on time with good service.
Dublin is expensive. Would not recommend living too far and getting stuck or wasting time commuting.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Not many, it’s very difficult for a fresher to navigate but I think anyone with experience will be fine which was my case as well. Freshers, 28,000.00 euros to 35,000.00 euros would be expected. Minimum salary for sponsorship would be 36,000 from March 26, making it more difficult for freshers.

Tips: Before joining this college students should be prepared for an independent and responsibility driven academic environment. Initially adjusting to the academic system and teaching style took some effort. Classes focused more on critical thinking, presentations and self learning rather than memorisation. I became more confident and organised. There was a noticeable cultural shift in terms of punctuality, communication, and professionalism. I did avail of a scholarship. It was awarded based on my academic performance and profile during the application process. I had to submit my academic records and a short personal statement explaining my goals.
Likes (Post study jobs): Campus was fun. A lot of activities each week. Amazing student community and facilities. Different varieties of options for student clubs. Well organized cultural as well as outdoor activities. Seniors were really active and open with the newcomers. Really enjoyed their presence in the common room.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Faculty members were very helpful and passionate about their work. Could approach them anytime. Teaching aids were helpful. As well as the teaching materials. Tips: Moving from India completely changed my life dynamics, bringing a totally new, highly independent and deeply enriching life experience. I was fortunate to receive the DCU Academic Excellence Scholarship, which provided 6,000 Euros deduction from my total tuition fees based on my academic merit. Before joining, students should prepare for a practical, assignment heavy academic structure that heavily values independent research over rote memorization. Despite the adjustments, I am very much satisfied with the university, my course structure and life in Ireland as a whole.
Likes (Public transportation): DCU is well-connected to the rest of the city, with numerous Dublin bus routes running directly outside the campus gates. For students, commuting is highly convenient and very affordable thanks to the Student Leap Card facility. The frequent bus schedules ensure a reliable and safe journey to anywhere at almost any time.
Dislikes (Internships): Although there is some career guidance and CV preparation offered at DCU, it is very difficult to get a placement because there is a lot of competition, and students have to go out on their own to find one. It is for this reason that it is so hard to find an internship.

Great environment to meet students from different cultures
Tips: There are not many job placements, but there are job fairs, career guidance, and internships. Based on grades, we get scholarships. They post cultural events, so we meet and get connected with people from different cultures. We also have a student union to raise questions and concerns.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is great at the university. Lots of cultural events and student clubs besides academic life. Students get to showcase their talents. Academics are also great, with good faculty, great resources, and research teams. They also have a platform to post lectures, which is very useful.
Dislikes (Part time work): On-campus part-time jobs are limited, but off campus you have lots of opportunities. It takes time, but we can try with the right documents. Academics and part-time are balanced well, as we have fewer classes and time to finish the assignments if we just stick to the part-time hours allocated by the government.

Tips: Yes, there is a good amount of exposure. I MET many other people and got to know more about their culture, and we had a really good time. Also, you get a good scholarship based on your merit. I am fully satisfied with the university, course, and country.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus is well connected through every means of transport and is really affordable. One can travel by bus, which is readily available, and one can also use the D-ART as their transport, as both have really good frequency. And the best part is it drops inside the university.
Dislikes (Internships): Internship opportunities are very few at the moment. They just encourage bachelor's students for the internship. Due to the critical job market environment, it is difficult to find internships, but it still depends on the field, though our field didn't offer much.

A Welcoming Place to Grow Independently.
Tips: DCU is research-focused with practical, project-based learning and a welcoming campus. Dublin living costs are high, but public transport is affordable. *Transition & cultural shift:* Teaching is self-directed with discussions and group work. Irish culture is inclusive and direct. The biggest shift was adapting to colder weather and managing independence like housing and budgeting. *Scholarships:* I applied through admission and was automatically considered. DCU offers merit scholarships from €1,100 to €6,100 for international students by faculty. The Government of Ireland Scholarship also offers full tuition + a €10,000 stipend for a Master's. You can receive only one.
Likes (Quality of faculty): I rated *4 on quality of faculty* because they are knowledgeable, industry-experienced, and explain concepts clearly with updated content. Faculty are very *accessible* with regular office hours, quick response, and openness to 1:1 mentorship. The *teaching methodology* is unique due to project-based learning, case studies, and flipped classrooms focused on live industry problems rather than only lectures. *Diversity* is moderate. The lecturers are a solid blend of local Irish academics and international staff, many of whom come straight out of industry. You get a good mix of real-world experience and theoretical knowledge in class, though having even more full-time international professors would definitely give the modules a broader global edge.
Dislikes (Value for money): My course fee sits in the middle. The faculty and curriculum match global standards, which justifies part of the cost. But ROI, scholarships, and campus facilities don't yet match top foreign universities, and it's costlier than most Indian public colleges. So value is moderate.

Good Academic Environment and Career Opportunities.
Tips: If you're coming over from India, the biggest thing you need to brace yourself for is the massive shift in how they actually teach you. Back home, it's so heavily focused on just cramming for exams, but at DCU, the whole system relies on continuous assessment—you're constantly hit with practical assignments, heavy research tasks, and a ton of independent study where you're left to figure things out on your own.
At first, balancing that academic shock while trying to adapt to the freezing, unpredictable Irish weather and the overall cultural shift is definitely a lot to handle. Luckily, the international team at DCU is pretty solid and actually helps you settle in. Getting a scholarship was an absolute lifesaver for me since it took a massive bite out of the heavy international fees. Looking back, I’m genuinely happy I made the move. The course really forces you to step up your game, and it completely changes how you handle things both as an engineer and just as a person trying to survive on their own.
Likes (Value for money): Look, there is no hiding the fact that the tuition fees here are a massive pill to swallow, especially if you're coming in as an international student. But honestly, when you look at the actual quality of the lectures, the campus facilities, and how heavily the curriculum is tailored toward getting you hired, it actually ends up being worth it.
Getting my scholarship sorted was an absolute lifesaver because it took a massive chunk off that financial stress, and having a degree from DCU genuinely opens a lot of doors when you're hunting for jobs in Ireland. At the end of the day, even though it costs an arm and a leg up front, I really do feel like you're getting exactly what you paid for.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Let's be completely real about the job market after graduating from DCU: the opportunities are definitely out there, especially if you're trying to break into the tech hubs at the Silicon Docks, the big finance firms, or the healthcare sector. But if you’re an international student, the competition is extremely cut throat. A lot of Irish employers are incredibly lazy about paperwork and will straight-up tell you they prefer candidates who already have local experience, and only a handful of companies are actually willing to sponsor a Critical Skills visa.
While the starting salaries in Dublin are generally pretty solid once you're in, locking down a proper graduate role is a massive test of patience that can take months of endless applications. You basically have to prepare yourself for a waiting game, which is stressful enough on its own, let alone while trying to survive Dublin's insane rental crisis at the same time.

A Good University Experience is based on Independent Leaning and Careere effort
Tips: If you're heading to DCU, you need to realize pretty quickly that nobody is going to hold your hand. It’s a fantastic place, but you absolutely have to be self-reliant, incredibly organized, and actually driven to learn on your own. Moving over to Dublin is a massive change. The transition itself is smooth enough, but the academic culture shock is very real. The way lecturers teach here is completely different from back home—it’s way less about memorizing things and much more about independent research, critical thinking, and knowing how to communicate your ideas properly.
Then there's the whole lifestyle shift. Navigating the Dublin rental market and learning how to manage a household entirely on your own is a steep learning curve. Plus, you need to be financially prepared—DCU doesn't just hand out scholarships to everyone. You’re almost certainly going to be self-funding your tuition and the pretty high cost of living in Ireland, so you really need to calculate your budget carefully before you land.

Focus on your skills before joining.
Tips: Every faculty is well aware of their subjects and are good at teaching. Every faculty is PhD holder and has plenty of experience in teaching in their field. They are good at solving doubts and have a unique way of teaching in their style. You will get an idea from their short notes and examples. It is better to do short courses before coming here.
Likes (Safety): It depends on person to person, where you get accommodation, it is better to stay on the south side of Dublin. An area outside the university is risky to roam around but the university is safe and poses no risk to roam. However, while traveling in north side, be cautious, you might face discrimination from teenagers.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are few jobs available so it's hard to get a job easily and it also applies to full-time; even though you have skills, you might not get a job easily. You need to apply for more than 100 jobs to secure one job also it is not certain that it will be permanent.

Stressful but learning environment.
Tips: Very difficult if you don't have experience. Part time jobs are competitive. College work is stressful for a full time course. I would suggest getting admitted if you get a good amount of scholarship. Try to negotiate for a scholarship. The country is good.
Likes (Public transportation): In cities like Dublin, the bus transport is very frequent. Buses are connected to almost all parts of the city. The Dublin City University has a dedicated bus stop for Dublin Bus. The other bus stops are also at a distance of 200 - 400 meters. There is also a D-ART station nearby.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part time jobs are very competitive to get on campus. Also after distributing 150 CVs, I have not received a call. Part time work is manageable with time management and if you start at a good place. The average payout for the part time roles is 14.15 per/hr and may increase if you have prior experience in the same job role.

College is great and staff has good expertise.
Tips: The part time jobs and full time jobs are tough. There are very less job opportunities in Ireland also they don't hire much. For international students the situation is worse. The accommodation and food are expensive; if anyone comes taking loan, the situation will get very hard for them.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transport is good the buses are on time. The infrastructure is great and the connectivity is also good and the transportation is more frequent, that's why they are less crowded so it's great. The transaction is seamless in buses for tickets.
Dislikes (Part time work): On campus part time jobs are limited and highly competitive, so not everyone gets an opportunity immediately. Off campus jobs are also getting tough; most of them are not hiring because of too much supply and there is no demand in the market. Most students didn't get part time in their first 7 to 8 months.

If you are doing the program, we recommend coming with at least one or two basic courses, then you will get it easier otherwise, you will be in a very difficult position. I completed my graduation in engineering, then got an opportunity to work in finance related company which gave me confidence to succeed in finance. I got a scholarship based on my resume and supporting documents. And I'm satisfied with the decision about this university and this country.
Likes (Value for money): They provide a scholarship based on your case and so if you compare your fee with other universities, it is value for money. Even if you did not get scholarship, there are multiple options like part time or freelancing will cover your tuition fee, so that's why it is value for money.

The faculty is extremely helpful and understanding.
Tips: I didn't face a cultural shift as such as I had done my research beforehand. People are extremely polite here so ensure that you don't disturb them in any way. Scholarships are available that the university provides based on merit. I am truly satisfied with my university, course and country so far.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is extremely helpful and understanding they will help you with any and everything. The teaching style of faculty at its core is more preference given to self study and more on academic and real world examples in class and a lot of self reading. The teaching faculty is diverse and brings varying responses and thoughts to the table.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Things are always changing here, especially with immigration, so that's why I gave it a 3. It's tough to get a permanent residency because it mostly depends on sponsorship. But I'd really love to stay here for good if I could, because I've enjoyed my time here a lot.

Tips: Students must know the fact that DCU offers a highly supportive academic environment where all the students should be prepared for a research oriented and fast paced learning.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The lecturers in my department are highly knowledgeable, well skilled and experienced. They ensure a supportive learning environment which combines a positive and inclusive classroom. The most important factor I have noticed about their teaching style is the use of practical real world case studies for discussion rather than just delivering information to the students. Since we have got lecturers from different nationalities and backgrounds, students are getting exposed to global perspectives at a higher level which prepares them professionally and academically.
Dislikes (Value for money): I feel the tuition fee to be relatively higher even though the quality of teaching, resources provided qualities are unmatched. I ensure that quality of the content and staff support are top notch. Additional student support activities can be incorporated on a regular basis.

Tips: The university offers a great learning experience with supportive faculty and diverse opportunities. Irish people are known to be warm, welcoming, and friendly. Well designed to cater educational needs.
Tips: The accent was a bit challenging initially, but I eventually got used to it. I received a scholarship of 2000 euros, awarded based on my academic performance. I am satisfied with the university; it's fun and offers a good balance between part-time work and studies. The only downside is the weather.
Likes (Public transportation): It's all well-connected and well-designed, with most places offering 24/7 services. Students benefit from cheaper transportation paying just 1 euro for a 90-minute bus ride. While Ireland also has good rail and Luas systems the bus provides reliable 24/7 service.
Dislikes (Safety): Safety is everyone's utmost priority, but recently Indians have faced issues with teenagers, including bullying theft and fights. Garda is not readily available, and some loopholes favour teenagers, which are being exploited. Medical services are also not up to par.

A learning and insightful experience.
Tips: I cannot deny that there were no cultural shifts, of course, it is very different here from what we had back home, but a good experience. Of course, jobs and markets, everything is bad currently, not very pleasing, but living through it. Except that I loved the experience.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty members were really good and approachable, and their classes were helpful. We were given support whenever required. We also had tutorials which gave us additional support along with the regular classes, which made it easier for us to cope with the subjects.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The job opportunities are not many, and the market is actually very bad here now; not much available for us. And since the cost of living is high, it is difficult to manage. For the people who graduated also finding a job is being a task here; it might not be the right time to move here.

DCU is good for studies, Ireland is bad for job market.
Tips: It is not as easy as it looks. The struggle is real. Don't come here if you have a table job in India. It takes time to find a job, even a part-time one. There's a lot of competition in Dublin City University for jobs and internships because it's very popular with Indian graduates of this Master's program. Everywhere you look, you will see Indian students working part-time jobs.
Likes (Safety): There are no issues at all, so don't worry about that. It is safe enough to travel in public transport near the Dublin City University campus. There are also bars open until 12 am, and they are friendly too. There are also so many events that happen on campus, which are open to students, like movie nights.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The job market is awful, with only a few good companies available. You will be competing against a lot of people for the small number of jobs, because DCU does not have the capability to send students to many available jobs. Many of the positions are filled by EU citizens and do not allow other job-seekers from other nations. Also, the visa problem is bad. There is a skills problem as well. My Indian experience and skills are not being recognised here, which makes me sad. They don't matter. To add to this problem, there are no placement options at DCU. Internships are also very hard to find. The reference scheme isn’t working either.

Academically well and multi-dimensional.
Tips: I really think that I got upgraded a lot in terms of academics. Moving from Asia to Europe, there are a lot of cultural differences, but in my case, it felt okay to adjust to that, and the people were so hospitable and welcoming. I received a merit-based scholarship that was awarded based on my marks at my university.
Likes (Part time work): Here, the people value work and will get paid fairly for the job, and I am not saying it is easy to get a job, but there are chances, and we should be ready to endure different conditions and should try hard to get a good one that fits us.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The students get comparatively good time to look for a job, and at the same time, the visa process and paperwork are quite understandable. The course selection and job opportunities are important. It varies depending on the companies and the circumstances in that scenario.
