Msc Architectural Technology & Building Performance - Batch of 2025
2.9
Friendly university with diverse faculty and peers.
Tips: University is very friendly and has a diverse student body and a variety of scholarship opportunities. The program is well-structured, and teachers are supportive. This Master's program focuses on research paper development, and there’s not too much emphasis on studying. The university does not guarantee placements after graduation. However, there are various seminars and job fairs held by the university to improve the students' portfolios and provide them with job opportunities. The minimum salary that the graduate student needs to earn is over 30,000 in order to get an extension for their graduate visa.
Likes (Public transportation): Transportation in the area is well connected. Even at night, public transport is well scheduled. Buses are the best mode of transportation. The nearest train station is about 20–30 minutes from the university. The area around the university is quiet and safe, so it's also an option to walk.

The teaching staff is very kind and always ready to clear my doubts.
Tips: I could talk about joining a university in a foreign country. Before joining a foreign university, you need to keep a few things in mind like: Since you'd be on your own, you have to manage your finances well. In most cases, you would have a budget, and exceeding that could be a painful scenario. Take care of all documentation-related items too, visa-related docs, passports, admission letters, etc. Finding accommodation could be an uphill challenge, but eventually, you'll find it. Most importantly, you have to get out of your comfort zone. Network at university, ask for help, find out how to deal with emergencies, follow local lawns and of course, stay connected with friends and family. These are quite indicative and general in nature. These are challenges all study abroad aspirants face. Each may face some or more of these, but with a little bit of determination, it does work out fine.

MSc Politics and International Relations - Batch of 2027
Offered by The School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London

Challenging but rewarding collage experience
Tips: The absolute first thing you need to realize before joining SOAS is that the workload is incredibly reading-heavy. You are given massive piles of texts every week, and because the teaching style is heavily independent and built around seminars, you cannot just coast through—you actually have to show up ready to debate and discuss the material. If your time-management skills are messy, the reading lists will swallow you whole, so you have to be proactive about hunting down help and jumping on opportunities the second they pop up. Outside of the classroom, you’re dealing with the reality of living in the middle of London, which is a total shock to the system if you aren't prepared. You seriously have to figure out how to juggle tough classes while living in a crazy expensive city like London without completely draining your bank account. If you don't learn how to handle your own money and map out your days right from the start, the stress of trying to keep up with both your social life and the massive workload will just wreck you.

MA in International Studies and Diplomacy - Batch of 2023
Offered by The School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London

I would rate my College 6 out of 10
Tips: Settling here was not that difficult, and I transitioned smoothly. I availed an International Postgraduate Scholarship from the college. With regard to satisfaction, University needs to work on building common spaces more vibrant and friendly as there is a barrier since many students join from various faith and belief. More networking events should be organized by the Departments for the future professional pursuits of the students. London, as a city, is a good space for anyone who does land up here.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Most of the classes are designed well in advance with proper well-structured module and the faculty's pedagogy are really commendable. The tutorial after class is designed for the one-to-one interaction of students and professors which is super helpful to get your queries and concerns clear. This is the space where you may like to encounter different narratives of the same theory or question. In my department at least there are a good number of diverse professors whom I had a chance to interact with, nationality includes China, USA, Germany, India, Korea, England, Pakistan, Srilanka, etc.
Dislikes (Internships): There is no concentrated effort by the institution to the ample opportunities for the internship. There are above 5000 students and just around 40-50 internship opportunities are offered on campus. Colleges could put more effort to bring more internship opportunities outside campus with different organisations and Government agencies.

My experience at SOAS, about inclusivity and intersectionality.
Tips: SOAS has one of the most diverse crowds of all the London university's. It is located in the heart of London, and fun activities and food are all part of university life. I study M.Sc. Development studies which is ranked 2nd all over, for a person who is academically inclined SOAS is the right choice to move forward.
Likes (Value for money): I think you cannot judge education on the basis of money. And if you think the money could be an obstacle to getting a better education, then you can always gain experience and get a scholarship later. As education doesn't come with a restriction on age. If you want to get better academic exposure SOAS is a great spot and it is highly acclaimed in the academic arena.
Dislikes (Indian Food): As this University is based in the UK, most of the diet is different. There are attempts made by the University to try and adapt diverse cuisine. Meats are usually Halal which is good as it caters to everyone. There is given importance to inclusivity which is all over UK.
