Graduate Certificate in Cloud Computing Technologies - Batch of 2024

Good but not best college
Tips: It was a pretty smooth transition, with no cultural shifts. I haven't received any scholarships, as it was a college and 1 year course. I see nothing new in my studies, except some professors who are extremely good at teaching. Almost everything can be learnt online for my course, there are no vouchers or discounts provided for the certification.

Good college for PG Diploma
Tips: The only difference I found was that exams, quizzes, projects, and assignments were all open book exams. At least for my course so if you think that is a good thing and start copying others' assignments you are cheating yourself and will have to learn everything the hard way around.
Likes (Indian Food): I am from India. Most of the time I cook for myself but at times when I feel tired or don't wanna cook, I go out to eat. So Toronto has a lot of Indian food options. You name it and it's there. The pricing is fair excluding some restaurants and most serve decent quality food at reasonable prices.
Dislikes (Safety): Public safety in Toronto is a big concern. The college has its own security which is good until you are in college. But once you are out on the street there are lots of homeless people and crack head so have to be very attentive. Most don't harm you but some try to extort money. There are multiple incidents that you can read about on the internet.

Great college to study course, it would be better if one start their journey here
Tips: Everything is good. I am not sure about scholarships as I just started my international student journey. For scholarships, call the college toll-free number or send an email related to whatever kind of scholarship you are looking for. University, courses and college are worth it, but I am not sure how much the country is good for international students.
Likes (Safety): It's all safe, I travel during the night and I haven't felt threatened till now though my class timing is from 6 pm-10 pm. It's safe to travel in Canada as I have felt till now. Ttc, subways are all safe, but there are people who cannot be trusted, so try to stay away from people you don't know.
Dislikes (Part time work): It's hard to find part time in winter, no matter how much experience you have in your home town. It's hard to find part time but easy to find full-time. Postgraduate students have tough time managing their studies with part time and full-time, it's difficult to manage both.

Decent college in Canada
Tips: Culture is not that much different as many Indians are around so very easy. Also because the language is English so again no problem. Scholarship is only for students who score well and that is also 2000 CAD not much help. Rest okay place, college infrastructure and faculty wise. The country is the best to live but jobs are hard to get.
Likes (Student Life): Have classes in the day and then go to my part-time work in MacDonalds. College work is also there. College organise events as many Indians are there for Holi, Diwali celebration and dance music competition. There are many fellow Indians so it feels good because otherwise there would be no help.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Not many jobs now. Less work outside. Many students come back to India after the course.Only some get good jobs. In Canada also connections like India work to get the job. I think many students are going to other places now and not Canada. My course is hotel operations so I don't know what companies come to college.

George brown being a mediocre college!
Tips: To get admitted in this college you'll need a minimum IELTS score of around 6.5. When I came here I knew that there'll be an Indian community around and I will somehow be around people that I know. But, the people staying here for a long have already transitioned and you might find yourself in situations in the beginning where you'll feel left out but that is what will shape you up and make you accept the diversity. So, be open to accepting diversity. I'll suggest engaging with student communities, and being part of social groups to know more about the country and culture if you are looking forward to working and settling here. Overall, I'll say that the college is neither too good nor too bad however if you are having other good options don't miss out on them.
Likes (Post study jobs): If you are competent as a student you'll definitely end up getting a job but that doesn't guarantee the package that you'll be getting here. I've seen students who have graduated from this college working at Tim Hortons too and students in some good corporates as well. I've rated high only because Canada as a country has requirements of jobs but you need to brush up on your skills while in college.
Dislikes (Value for money): I personally don't think that the hefty charge that is taken as a tuition fee justifies the opportunities a student has when it comes up to Canadian marketplace. The college does have some reputation among the employers but it still is not very much as it should have been. Also, I wouldn't say that the quality of teaching here is top notch. Some professors can be a bit rude here and won't respond to your queries and emails which can be a bit harsh on you as an International student and they feed you information that is outdated. So watch out, the university might seem academically oriented but now you know what lies beneath!

Good school with good opportunities
Tips: Be prepared for the unexpected. There are a lot of expenses that you don’t anticipate. You do tend to fall for spending with friends, so make sure that you are budgeting yourself no matter what. Cook at home when you can, and do meal preps. Don’t drink Starbucks!!
Likes (Value for money): Good work and life balance. Students have to find a part-time job to survive. School schedule is made in a way that ensures you have enough time to work, study and play. Make the most of it. Find a job that does not tire you a lot, otherwise, you will not have time for other stuff.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Good teachers, take the time to help. I have had a teacher who happily became my mentor. They also help me connect with people from the industry. I was given a lot of leadership opportunities which help me gain Canadian experience even before I graduated.

College is average but the location is finest.
Tips: If you're looking for a diverse class, that will be difficult to find as there are mostly South Asians. The group assignments could be more stimulating, and the class is very theory-focused, which doesn't help in real-world situations. Internship opportunities require previous experience. There isn't much of a student life. The student activities that the college organizes are geared more toward undergrads than postgrads. The HR society needs to be more active and engaging. There should be more part-time job opportunities for international students.
Likes (Indian Food): Indian food is easily available in Toronto, as are other cuisines. However, the cafeteria could be more diverse and include more healthy options. As students, it's tough to find time to cook, so more healthy options would be greatly appreciated by most of us.

Great memories and experience.
Tips: The college has three branches. I was in the waterfront, the college has taught me everything I needed to know from the basics about jewelry and I feel better about the field I chose because I chose this college. It gets fun after a while but in the starting days, Indians might have trouble fitting in.
Likes (Internships): We get job placements and opportunities for internships. I came back to India and I am going back, you get paid for doing internships and putting your time and effort and whole heart into the project, your work is rewarded and a lot of scholarships are provided.
Dislikes (Student Life): There's a lot of bullying happening which has made me suffer a lot, I was bullied for my weight and the fact that I belonged to a different race altogether. I did get over it after a point but it was mentally disturbing and the college isn't strict on ragging.

Tips: Good for STEM courses if you bag a scholarship but the learning itself will be worthwhile. USF is so much more than just a university and you can expect to meet people from all cultures and all parts of the world so your exposure will be really wide. Classes can range from engaging to intense but it does depend on your professors and your line of interest as you will be expected to be slightly more independent here. Good experience all in all.

Great electrical engineering school but immigration is the current hurdle.
Tips: The culture is different but meeting people in class and outside will help get to know more. The college is not that expensive compared to other similar tier university. The job opportunities are good for electrical engineering but the immigration changes are the biggest hold up. I have spoken to people who graduated before me and they got jobs. But this years changes are making it hard to get into a job.
Likes (Safety): I have been to places in Florida, the state is a safe one. Tampa is better with cops all over the university area. I go out all the time and never felt unsafe and never got any stuff stolen. The people in Tampa are friendly and never had any problem, the traffic's not bad at all.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I rated it 3 because of the recent changes made to immigration by the current administration. The uncertainty is troubling as I have spent a lot on my master's degree with no return. The wait period for a Green card is around 140 years and a lot of negative changes to the H1b programme as well are not that good.

Warm community and narrow paths.
Tips: Good weather, similar to Visakhapatnam. There are many Indian communities, which make me feel like I'm outside Hyderabad. There are also many Indian restaurants and a few Indian temples. There are no scholarships. The course needs to provide internal specialisations.
Likes (Public transportation): In Tampa, the public transportation system is quite good compared to other cities. You can track the buses, allowing you to be on time instead of waiting for a long time. USF university students can travel for free, and we can go anywhere within the public transport system. Besides public transport, there are also good Uber services available 24/7.
Dislikes (Internships): You can seek guidance from seniors. Campus drives offer industry perspectives, and internships are also available on LinkedIn and other third-party job sites, which post numerous opportunities daily from various companies and fields.

Interestingly vast ways of experiences to success.
Tips: Take the SAT and score high to get good scholarships. Naviation is necessary, so make sure you know how to read maps. Don't rely on wheels. Walking is often necessary, as buses get full quite quickly during common class hours. Mostly early morning. I am overall very satisfied and I am a proud USF Bull. You can use the public bus for free using your student ID. And the card is very powerful, and holds vital information. Usf students get discounts almost everywhere. People are very friendly. And you will definitely find your country's people here. Join your country club and you will stay more involved. Monitor on Instagram. Talk to current students from your country before coming and know about everything possible.
Likes (Safety): Police are always on campus. The safety team ensures students can reach home safely at night. Travelling safely through the Tampa campus can easily be done for free. The campus is totally safe. Even if it is 3 o'clock at night. I walk home alone every night and nothing bad ever happened. The bus is available till midnight excluding weekends.
Dislikes (Part time work): The on campus jobs are rare, but that does not mean jobs are not available. Applying at the correct place at the correct time with a proper resume can get you a job on campus. And off-campus is a risk to work. Managing work and studies is going to be a challenge. Maximum is 20 hours a week, most students end up with 10-13 maximum. Rarely people can do 16 hours. Job quality differs salary. But the minimum is 11 bucks per hour.

Great university with appropriate facilities and great academic standards.
Tips: The university has great infrastructure and great job opportunities, such that rarely people join in consultancies to get jobs. The college has many fun activities every Wednesday and it provides free bus facility to all the students. Moreover, it has recently entered the list of top 100 colleges in the United States. The expenditure on accommodation and food is comparatively low. The great thing about the college is that it has low fee structure as it is public funded.
Likes (Public transportation): There are free buses provided by the college which operate from 7 am to 11 pm, which is quite appreciable. Free public facility is provided so one can travel anywhere and explore without the fear of money shortage. Usually in other universities one has to take cab for everything.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Personally, I would say that the climate is quite harsh for permanent settlement. The summer is quite harsh so it is difficult to roam outside and this is the only reason why permanent settlement is difficult but immigration is quite easy.

Up to 15 miles we have university buses and above 15 miles to 25 miles we have state buses which are also free for the students. So basically we don't spend a single penny on transportation.
Dislikes (Internships): Due to a large number of students both national and international students, we have a large competition for internships. Yet our college provides campus placements in which we need to register and participate and also students need to try applying from websites like handshake and linkdin.

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2023
Offered by University of South Florida
3.9
Excellent transport services and good resources.
Tips: Before joining this college, you should make sure which college majors you would be joining and the research areas you are interested in. Along with that, connect with professors and students on LinkedIn and other professional means. The climate mostly remains warm, but there are erratic changes with rains and little cold chills, but it is manageable. It is true that cars are a necessity here, but you can manage with a bicycle as well. Usually, buses have cycle stands in front of them, where one can hook their cycle securely for long routes.
Likes (Public transportation): Bull runner provides excellent transport service from in and out campus free of cost. Also, state-owned buses are free for the university students to travel long distance routes. The university has its own portal for the bus tracking and their multiple stops on the routes, where students can board the bus. I highly recommend bus transport as you can meet other people and make some meaningful connections.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty of EE for some research areas like wireless and VLSI are doing great and they have good resources like labs and funds to provide good resource material. For other research areas, the professors and resources are okay. Majorly, the USF is famous for the public health and business analytics program.

Learning Design and Technology, M.S. - Batch of 2026
Offered by University of South Florida
3.6
Mixed experiences so far.
Tips: I have felt quite welcome and reassured after coming here and people have been helpful as well. There aren’t scholarships for post graduation here, so you should plan your life and immediate future accordingly. Permanent immigration is on a decline and sometimes it feels like there's no real ROI here.
