Tips: College is strict in academics. You should follow the rules strictly while doing your assignments and work, and if you would like to avail any scholarship, the college will help you in that. The best place to experience a different number of cultures and traditions.
Likes (Safety): We will be able to access anything through our college student card, so that's a great opportunity, we can explore many things, and we will have possible ways to improve our networking through interacting with people who come from different regions.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): My college professors are friendly and approachable anytime. We will be having a college mail ID. Using this ID, we can contact them any time if we have any issues, and mostly we will be able to sort out all the doubts in the class itself, as they explain everything in detail.

Tips: If you are going to study computing, be prepared to give up part-time work. The course is very practical and requires dedicated study hours. Don't expect easy passing like at other institutions; you need to put in the effort, prepare, and study to succeed.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The course is well-designed with many hands-on portions, sometimes a bit too much even. But it's still good value for money. The teachers are good at what they teach, but each subject has its own unique assessments and assignments that you need to pass individually.
Dislikes (Part time work): My course, M.Sc. in Computing, involved four days of on-campus lectures, numerous projects, and assignments, leaving little time for part-time work. The average hourly pay is around 13, but this varies depending on the workplace and hours worked.

Good college for people who are ready to work hard.
Tips: You might find it difficult to manage part time with studies as they have a tight schedule with assignments and exams. Weekends off can also mean spending time on submissions. Exams are taken seriously hence one would need lot of hard work. You will have study leave and some holidays to enjoy. Faculty members are highly professional and supportive. They prepare you for your career after studying. Overall, I am satisfied with my college.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty were mainly Irish. They were professional and great teachers. They were always happy to help. They were always approachable if you had a question. Most importantly, they taught you how to deal with the professional problems that you might encounter in your career.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part time opportunities depends on the vacancy and your willingness to do any work. Currently the vacancies are less hence some people might find it difficult to get one. Also you might not unnecessarily get the full 20 hours to work in a week hence finding it difficult to earn for your living expenses.

It’s also essential to be prepared for cultural diversity, as the college hosts students from all over the world.
The transition to life at Griffith was overall smooth but came with an initial cultural shift. From classroom behaviour and teaching methods to social customs and communication styles, everything required a period of adjustment. However, the supportive faculty and friendly peers made the process easier. Participating in group projects, workshops, and college events helped me integrate and develop both academically and personally.
I was fortunate to receive a partial merit-based scholarship. The scholarship application was submitted during the admission process, and selection was based on academic performance and a personal statement. The allowance helped reduce tuition fees, which made studying abroad more affordable and manageable.
Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience at Griffith College, both in terms of my course and the country. The curriculum is industry-relevant, the lecturers are knowledgeable, and the campus offers modern facilities. Living in Ireland has been a rewarding experience due to its friendly people, beautiful landscapes, and safety. Griffith has not only enhanced my academic knowledge but also contributed to my personal growth and career readiness.
Likes (Indian Food): Dublin, especially around Griffith College, offers a good range of international food choices, though it may not fully match the authenticity or variety available back home. There are numerous Indian, Pakistani, Chinese, Middle Eastern, and African restaurants within a short distance of the college. These places cater well to the student population, and the food is generally flavorful and satisfying.
Typical restaurants include Indian curry houses, halal takeaway spots, Chinese and Thai noodle bars, and kebab joints. Prices are fairly reasonable for students, with meals usually costing between €8 and €15. There are also more premium restaurants if you're looking for a special treat, where prices can range from €20 to €25 per meal. In addition, fast-food chains and local cafés provide convenient options for a quick bite.
Grocery stores and Asian or ethnic supermarkets like Tesco, Lidl, Eurasia, and Asia Market offer ingredients and spices from various countries, making it easier to cook your own meals if you prefer traditional home-style food. This has been especially helpful in maintaining a sense of comfort and familiarity.
Personally, I prefer cooking at home during the week to save money and eat healthier, but I enjoy dining out on weekends or during social gatherings. The availability of ingredients and dining options allows me to maintain a balanced routine and stay connected to my culinary roots while exploring Irish and international cuisine.
Dislikes (Internships): While Griffith College provides some support in this area, there is still room for improvement in terms of guidance, structure, and opportunities. The Careers Office occasionally shares internship openings through emails and job portals, and they do conduct workshops on CV writing, interview preparation, and LinkedIn optimisation. However, the process of finding and securing internships is largely student-driven.
For international students unfamiliar with the Irish job market, this can be challenging. There is limited one-on-one mentorship or a dedicated placement program for many non-technical or niche postgraduate courses. Guidance is often general and not always tailored to individual industries or specific fields of study.
In my case, while the college shared internship resources, I had to do most of the research and networking independently to find opportunities related to my program. There are some relevant internships available, especially in business, IT, and digital marketing sectors, but students in specialised fields like pharmaceutical sciences or clinical research might struggle to find directly aligned roles unless they proactively search beyond the college's network.
That said, Ireland has a growing job market, and with persistence, it’s possible to find meaningful work experience. Griffith does try to support students, but could strengthen its connections with industry partners and offer more structured internship pathways. This would greatly enhance the practical learning experience and better align with the academic programs offered.

Tips: Always be prepared to work hard because student life will be stressful. You will need to manage lots of assignments and exams. I received a scholarship of 1500 euros. You can approach any of your lectures through your app called Moodle and Outlook, which is very helpful. Most of the classes use real-time examples which give exposure to the current market and industry-level experience. You get lectures from different nationalities and countries. Overall, I'm completely satisfied with my college, which offers great opportunities to explore.
Dislikes (Indian Food): As an Indian, I find many options to eat, but I prefer to cook at home, which gives me the exact taste of our food. I prefer to go to Indian restaurants like Hyderabad Kitchen, Indian Tiffin, and many more, but you mostly find Pakistani and Bangladeshi restaurants.

Griffith College has strong academics and highly knowledgeable faculty.
Tips: There's not much of a cultural shift here. You'll find it very similar to your home country. I got 1,000 euros of scholarship money. As a full-time Master's student, I need to pay attention in class and do well academically. I also make sure that I'm meeting the attendance requirements, which are very important. Because of all of this, I'll probably be at college most days of the week. Fortunately, there are a lot of fun events to attend on campus, like movie parties and Halloween celebrations. There is also a student union that will help us to adjust. I'm completely satisfied with the country more than my college, as it feels like home and provides a lot of comfort and support.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation here is truly great. There's a bus every minute, and a train every ten minutes, which allows you to travel anywhere around the city. There's the Luas and the busses. Travel will run you about one Euro per hour, which is affordable and convenient.

Tips: I received a scholarship for 1500 euros, which is very common. Most students receive scholarships of 1000 to 1500 euros. I think it’s completely justified, the amount we are paying is affordable if we compare it to other countries, and the academics and studies are the best. Every lecture is very supportive and the teachers will help with all academic needs. I am very happy with my choice of courses, which offer a plethora of opportunities. Naturally, there will be some culture shock, but for us, it's exciting to try something new.
Dislikes (Student Life): I spend most of my free time with my friends in our weekly classes at Griffith College. Everyone else is busy with part-time jobs or other stuff. So if we get some time off, we all meet up at college. There are always lots of things happening at college, often organized by Griffith's Student Union.

Tips: Before joining, research campus life, course curriculum, and location. I transition smoothly, adapting to diverse cultures. No cultural shock, but I did learn to be independent. I availed a merit-based scholarship, receiving 20% tuition fee waiver. It took time to get used to, but I enjoy it now. My day is usually spent with a combination of classes, self-study, and extracurricular activities. I enjoy campus events, such as cultural fests, as well as seminars. There are a variety of clubs here, such as debate, sports, etc. I only participate occasionally, though, as I have to balance academic activities with my interests. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the university, course, and country.
Likes (Indian Food): I prefer to cook my own meals. However, sometimes eating out is okay, although otherwise it is hard for students from outside. Some restaurants give offers for students. Indian restaurants tend to be located mainly in the city center, and, according to prices, it's a bit difficult for students there.

Tips: College is good for academic and job opportunities, but adjusting can be tough. The culture, teaching style, and lifestyle are different, and groceries are expensive, making it tough for international students. There are good opportunities for part-time work, though. Some aspects, such as meeting new friends from diverse backgrounds, have been quite enjoyable. Yet, other aspects, like having to attend classes online and in person in the afternoon, have been stressful and boring. Also, I don't like that some days I have to go to college for just two hours. Nonetheless, my favorite parts of being at this college are the freedom and the fun moments I have with my friends. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): I would love to settle here because there is a work-life balance in this country. They have good job prospects and quality of life compared to other places. For good career growth, a comfortable lifestyle and a better future, this country is good to settle. I would consider settling here if everything aligns well.

Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is really good in Dublin, especially around the city centers. They have good connections to all of the colleges, and each college has its own bus stop and Luas stop. Colleges provide information to help students with public transportation, such as route planning and how to apply for a Leap Card.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): As of now, there's very little scope for settlement options, because the job market isn't good at all. Even if we get a job, the companies don't sponsor the visa. Many jobs are removed from the critical skills list, which makes it really tough to get stamp 1.

Plus, the exams make you a studious, responsible student. The lecturers are very supportive of your academics and are very experienced professionals. Tips: In my opinion, before joining any college, students should learn about the school's background, the courses it offers, the course modules and the facilities. They should also check out the campus, the sports activities and events it offers, and any other activities available. Of course, you should also find out how much the courses you're interested in cost. The tuition is valid for this course because my course is Big Data Management and Analytics, so it's a very difficult course, and Griffith College provides this course. Euros will be converted to Indian rupees, which is big money from the India side, but it feels nominal for international students.

Tips: The university offers a great learning experience with supportive faculty and diverse opportunities. Irish people are known to be warm, welcoming, and friendly. You should also remember there is not much difference in which university you join to complete your studies, since you have to do applications by yourself for jobs. Also, it is not that easy to get the jobs you need to do a lot of applications.

Tips: The accent was a bit challenging initially, but I eventually got used to it. I received a scholarship of 2000 euros, awarded based on my academic performance. I am satisfied with the university; it's fun and offers a good balance between part-time work and studies. The only downside is the weather.
Likes (Public transportation): It's all well-connected and well-designed, with most places offering 24/7 services. Students benefit from cheaper transportation, paying just 1 euro for a 90-minute bus ride. While Ireland also has good rail and Luas systems, the bus provides reliable 24/7 service.
Dislikes (Safety): Safety is everyone's utmost priority, but recently, Indians have faced issues with teenagers, including bullying, theft, and fights. Garda is not readily available, and some loopholes favour teenagers, which are being exploited. Medical services are also not up to par.

Tips: I cannot deny that there were no cultural shifts, of course, it is very different here from what we had back home, but a good experience. Of course, jobs and markets, everything is bad currently, not very pleasing, but living through it. Except that I loved the experience.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty members were really good and approachable, and their classes were helpful. We were given support whenever required. We also had tutorials which gave us additional support along with the regular classes, which made it easier for us to cope with the subjects.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The job opportunities are not many, and the market is actually very bad here now; not much available for us. And since the cost of living is high, it is difficult to manage. For the people who graduated also finding a job is being a task here; it might not be the right time to move here.

DCU is good for studies, Ireland is bad for job market.
Tips: It is not as easy as it looks. The struggle is real. Don't come here if you have a table job in India. It takes time to find a job, even a part-time one. There's a lot of competition in Dublin City University for jobs and internships because it's very popular with Indian graduates of this Master's program. Everywhere you look, you will see Indian students working part-time jobs.
Likes (Safety): There are no issues at all, so don't worry about that. It is safe enough to travel in public transport near the Dublin City University campus. There are also bars open until 12 am, and they are friendly too. There are also so many events that happen on campus, which are open to students, like movie nights.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The job market is awful, with only a few good companies available. You will be competing against a lot of people for the small number of jobs, because DCU does not have the capability to send students to many available jobs. Many of the positions are filled by EU citizens and do not allow other job-seekers from other nations. Also, the visa problem is bad. There is a skills problem as well. My Indian experience and skills are not being recognised here, which makes me sad. They don't matter. To add to this problem, there are no placement options at DCU. Internships are also very hard to find. The reference scheme isn’t working either.

The campus is friendly and diverse, which can be comforting and supportive for students. They should get used to studying independently and not relying on teachers to always be available. The faculty are there for you if you need help, but there is not a whole lot of hand-holding. Also, they should know that when people say "cheers," it means "thanks," which can save some embarrassment. Lastly, the weather is an emotional experience. Don't get discouraged if it isn't great every day.

Tips: I really think that I got upgraded a lot in terms of academics. Moving from Asia to Europe, there are a lot of cultural differences, but in my case, it felt okay to adjust to that, and the people were so hospitable and welcoming. I received a merit-based scholarship that was awarded based on my marks at my university.
Likes (Part time work): Here, the people value work and will get paid fairly for the job, and I am not saying it is easy to get a job, but there are chances, and we should be ready to endure different conditions and should try hard to get a good one that fits us.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The students get comparatively good time to look for a job, and at the same time, the visa process and paperwork are quite understandable. The course selection and job opportunities are important. It varies depending on the companies and the circumstances in that scenario.

For students who are just looking to obtain a degree, Dublin City University is a good choice.
Tips: After coming here, I got to learn many things about assignments, which is the easiest part in India. I didn’t get any scholarships. There's no guidance provided for finding internships, and you have to figure it out yourself. Plus, there were some career fairs, but there were not enough to accommodate all the students in the university. The career counselling team taught me how to write a good resume, though. As all the Indian students are here, the living expenses are much higher than expected.
Likes (Safety): The safety of the campus is really good. The diversity of the faculty helps students learn to respect every country. I never felt unsafe there, and student unions are always there for help. The best part is that there is no discrimination on campus.

Tips: The transition for me was easy, and I didn't experience any culture shock. I am also happy to have received a scholarship. I availed for scholarships and I got 2000 euros for the scholarship. I like the guest lecturers. They are all people who are actually in the industry.
Likes (Public transportation): The transportation is pretty good, although buses do sometimes run late. The Irish rail system is great because it gets you to and from the university much faster. Another great thing is that the students can change modes of transport as many times as they want within a 90-minute timeframe for only one euro.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are many restaurants, but it's quite costly, so I prefer cooking for myself. The cost ranges from 10-30 euros, and in a student budget, it isn't that easy to spend on food outside. The restaurants here have a different taste as the dishes are modified according to the Irish people's taste and don't give the exact feel of our home country.

The faculty are approachable and they have great attitude towards students.
Tips: Ireland is very different from India, be it the food, the people, or the weather. So, do your research before coming here. Scholarships are available in plenty, depending on your course. For engineering and computing courses in DCU, they have a merit scholarship which the board decides based on your SOP, academics and is offered in the admission letter.
Likes (Safety): The best thing about DCU is its open and welcoming attitude. You just feel right at home on this campus. The college student union and other clubs offer various services, conduct many different events and make the campus quite lively. It is amazing to say that there are a number of clubs ranging from Science to English anime to swimming.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The faculty members are really approachable and they have a really nice attitude towards students. They are always encouraging students to ask questions, and any questions asked are always answered, ensuring that the students understand it well. I liked the idea of 3-hour sessions weekly, ensuring they get the fundamentals but don’t feel overwhelmed with too much information. The faculty is pretty diverse.

I prefer preparing my own meal, simple dal-chawal or sabzi-roti costs 2-3 per meal compared to eating out. I only dine out occasionally, usually at budget-friendly fast-food joints or mid-range Asian restaurants, saving Indian restaurants for rare treats. Cooking not only saves money but also lets me recreate the flavour of home, which helps with homesickness.

And other bicycles and e -e-bikes, which could be a better choice. D-ART and Lusa are options which a little far.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): MNC companies are offering sponsor visas for work, while smaller companies are higher for contract-based jobs. These jobs are mainly in operations, with salary packages ranging from 40,000 to 60,000 Euros. However, if you have the skills and experience, those packages can be higher, and they're the most important parts of getting a good job here.

Tips: I was not happy with the hot Indian weather in Mumbai, and the first thing I really enjoyed about Ireland was the weather. I was given a scholarship of 6400 euros for my course, and it was sent with the offer letter.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is excellent in DCU. There's a lovely atmosphere, lovely people, lots of parks nearby, lots of student societies to be part of, activities like swimming, biking, rock climbing, archery clubs, and so much more. And I've been here for over six months, and I haven't experienced any racism yet.
Dislikes (Internships): Internships are available, but due to a lot of demand, only a limited people can get the opportunity to work as an intern. I believe in the field of commerce and sales, getting an internship won't be as difficult as getting one here in electronics and computer technology.
