Tips: College is strict in academics. You should follow the rules strictly while doing your assignments and work, and if you would like to avail any scholarship, the college will help you in that. The best place to experience a different number of cultures and traditions.
Likes (Safety): We will be able to access anything through our college student card, so that's a great opportunity, we can explore many things, and we will have possible ways to improve our networking through interacting with people who come from different regions.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): My college professors are friendly and approachable anytime. We will be having a college mail ID. Using this ID, we can contact them any time if we have any issues, and mostly we will be able to sort out all the doubts in the class itself, as they explain everything in detail.

Tips: If you are going to study computing, be prepared to give up part-time work. The course is very practical and requires dedicated study hours. Don't expect easy passing like at other institutions; you need to put in the effort, prepare, and study to succeed.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The course is well-designed with many hands-on portions, sometimes a bit too much even. But it's still good value for money. The teachers are good at what they teach, but each subject has its own unique assessments and assignments that you need to pass individually.
Dislikes (Part time work): My course, M.Sc. in Computing, involved four days of on-campus lectures, numerous projects, and assignments, leaving little time for part-time work. The average hourly pay is around 13, but this varies depending on the workplace and hours worked.

Good college for people who are ready to work hard.
Tips: You might find it difficult to manage part time with studies as they have a tight schedule with assignments and exams. Weekends off can also mean spending time on submissions. Exams are taken seriously hence one would need lot of hard work. You will have study leave and some holidays to enjoy. Faculty members are highly professional and supportive. They prepare you for your career after studying. Overall, I am satisfied with my college.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty were mainly Irish. They were professional and great teachers. They were always happy to help. They were always approachable if you had a question. Most importantly, they taught you how to deal with the professional problems that you might encounter in your career.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part time opportunities depends on the vacancy and your willingness to do any work. Currently the vacancies are less hence some people might find it difficult to get one. Also you might not unnecessarily get the full 20 hours to work in a week hence finding it difficult to earn for your living expenses.

It’s also essential to be prepared for cultural diversity, as the college hosts students from all over the world.
The transition to life at Griffith was overall smooth but came with an initial cultural shift. From classroom behaviour and teaching methods to social customs and communication styles, everything required a period of adjustment. However, the supportive faculty and friendly peers made the process easier. Participating in group projects, workshops, and college events helped me integrate and develop both academically and personally.
I was fortunate to receive a partial merit-based scholarship. The scholarship application was submitted during the admission process, and selection was based on academic performance and a personal statement. The allowance helped reduce tuition fees, which made studying abroad more affordable and manageable.
Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience at Griffith College, both in terms of my course and the country. The curriculum is industry-relevant, the lecturers are knowledgeable, and the campus offers modern facilities. Living in Ireland has been a rewarding experience due to its friendly people, beautiful landscapes, and safety. Likes (Indian Food): Dublin, especially around Griffith College, offers a good range of international food choices, though it may not fully match the authenticity or variety available back home. There are numerous Indian, Pakistani, Chinese, Middle Eastern, and African restaurants within a short distance of the college. These places cater well to the student population, and the food is generally flavorful and satisfying.
Typical restaurants include Indian curry houses, halal takeaway spots, Chinese and Thai noodle bars, and kebab joints. Prices are fairly reasonable for students, with meals usually costing between €8 and €15. There are also more premium restaurants if you're looking for a special treat, where prices can range from €20 to €25 per meal. In addition, fast-food chains and local cafés provide convenient options for a quick bite.
Grocery stores and Asian or ethnic supermarkets like Tesco, Lidl, Eurasia, and Asia Market offer ingredients and spices from various countries, making it easier to cook your own meals if you prefer traditional home-style food. This has been especially helpful in maintaining a sense of comfort and familiarity.
Personally, I prefer cooking at home during the week to save money and eat healthier, but I enjoy dining out on weekends or during social gatherings. The availability of ingredients and dining options allows me to maintain a balanced routine and stay connected to my culinary roots while exploring Irish and international cuisine.
Dislikes (Internships): While Griffith College provides some support in this area, there is still room for improvement in terms of guidance, structure, and opportunities. The Careers Office occasionally shares internship openings through emails and job portals, and they do conduct workshops on CV writing, interview preparation, and LinkedIn optimisation. However, the process of finding and securing internships is largely student-driven.
For international students unfamiliar with the Irish job market, this can be challenging. There is limited one-on-one mentorship or a dedicated placement program for many non-technical or niche postgraduate courses. Guidance is often general and not always tailored to individual industries or specific fields of study.
In my case, while the college shared internship resources, I had to do most of the research and networking independently to find opportunities related to my program. Tips: There's not much of a cultural shift here. You'll find it very similar to your home country. I got 1,000 euros of scholarship money. As a full-time Master's student, I need to pay attention in class and do well academically. I also make sure that I'm meeting the attendance requirements, which are very important. Because of all of this, I'll probably be at college most days of the week. Fortunately, there are a lot of fun events to attend on campus, like movie parties and Halloween celebrations. There is also a student union that will help us to adjust. I'm completely satisfied with the country more than my college, as it feels like home and provides a lot of comfort and support.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation here is truly great. There's a bus every minute, and a train every ten minutes, which allows you to travel anywhere around the city. There's the Luas and the busses. Travel will run you about one Euro per hour, which is affordable and convenient.

Tips: I received a scholarship for 1500 euros, which is very common. Most students receive scholarships of 1000 to 1500 euros. I think it’s completely justified, the amount we are paying is affordable if we compare it to other countries, and the academics and studies are the best. Every lecture is very supportive and the teachers will help with all academic needs. I am very happy with my choice of courses, which offer a plethora of opportunities. Naturally, there will be some culture shock, but for us, it's exciting to try something new.
Dislikes (Student Life): I spend most of my free time with my friends in our weekly classes at Griffith College. Everyone else is busy with part-time jobs or other stuff. So if we get some time off, we all meet up at college. There are always lots of things happening at college, often organized by Griffith's Student Union.

My day is usually spent with a combination of classes, self-study, and extracurricular activities. I enjoy campus events, such as cultural fests, as well as seminars. There are a variety of clubs here, such as debate, sports, etc. I only participate occasionally, though, as I have to balance academic activities with my interests. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the university, course, and country.

Tips: College is good for academic and job opportunities, but adjusting can be tough. The culture, teaching style, and lifestyle are different, and groceries are expensive, making it tough for international students. There are good opportunities for part-time work, though. Some aspects, such as meeting new friends from diverse backgrounds, have been quite enjoyable. Yet, other aspects, like having to attend classes online and in person in the afternoon, have been stressful and boring. Also, I don't like that some days I have to go to college for just two hours. Nonetheless, my favorite parts of being at this college are the freedom and the fun moments I have with my friends. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): I would love to settle here because there is a work-life balance in this country. They have good job prospects and quality of life compared to other places. Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is really good in Dublin, especially around the city centers. They have good connections to all of the colleges, and each college has its own bus stop and Luas stop. Colleges provide information to help students with public transportation, such as route planning and how to apply for a Leap Card.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): As of now, there's very little scope for settlement options, because the job market isn't good at all. Even if we get a job, the companies don't sponsor the visa. Many jobs are removed from the critical skills list, which makes it really tough to get stamp 1.

Tips: Griffith College has a good-natured and friendly environment. The faculty is great, and the education is top-notch. Tips: It's a very diverse campus with friendly staff. I'm quite satisfied with the quality of teaching and staff overall. However, the course I took wasn't well-structured. Likes (Safety): Very safe, and it's possible to walk around even late at night. There are guards at all major bus stops across the university after peak hours, and the same is true across the city. The luas have security and ticket checkers to ensure passenger safety and maintain discipline.

Likes (Safety): There are boards displaying that bullying is offensive, and everyone here is friendly. There are lots of different societies here where you can easily reach out for help. There is a student union as well, where we can select someone as the president, and they later try to solve any problems we have. The city is against racism, and people here are friendly.
Dislikes (Internships): There are some opportunities available, but not a lot for our course. UCD offers proper internships to computer science negotiated learning students. It is student-driven; we have to find internships on our own from the career website of UCD. The available internships are relevant to my field of study.

The transition was a mix of adjustment and excitement. Academically, the structure was more discussion- and research-based, which is very different from what we are used to in India. Culturally, Irish people are usually a bit loud, informal and often friendly, which took a little time to get used to. I am quite satisfied; it gave exposure to a global peer group and provided a strong academic foundation. My course aligned with my interests. Ireland is a safe and easy-to-navigate country for students.
Likes (Indian Food): All types of raw ingredients available in Ireland are also commonly found in India. There are plenty of Indian stores and restaurants catering to specific Indian taste buds, and for preparing meals. The usual pricing is 10 euros per person if eating out. I preferred making my meals at home.
Dislikes (Value for money): The course material, basically their modules, can be easily studied online or at another college for less money. The course doesn't cover any technical aspects of Scrum, nor does it offer free certifications like PRINCE, which are often required for PM jobs.

Likes (Permanent Immigration): I would not immigrate to this country. Firstly, the housing price is very high here, so I would have to share a room or a house with others. Secondly, companies here prefer to hire local or European people, so I don't think I would be able to find a job. Lastly, I miss my hometown, and there are more job opportunities there.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I prefer eating at the school canteen or cooking for myself. The Confucius College on the main campus has a great Chinese restaurant with delicious, diverse food at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, the restaurants off campus are quite expensive, costing more than 25 euros per meal.

Tips: Since I found it very difficult to submit my application on time, I recommend that you get started with your application as early as possible, ideally in February. The application process can be long, and it would be sad to be late to the party and then find that you don’t get the scholarship that could help you cover a lot of those costs. So make sure to get started early.
Likes (Indian Food): There are a lot of Indian restaurants around here. Plus, there are many Asian markets with exclusive Indian spices that aren't available at the standard grocery stores. I like going to Brey because there are many good Indian restaurants and it's got a great beach vibe.
Dislikes (Part time work): Sometimes it’s difficult to find a part-time job, and it also clashes with our college schedule, which might be problematic as we need to study hard. Also, in part-time jobs, we usually get €13.5 per hour, but I think it should be more, as sometimes it’s hard to manage our expenses.

Ireland as a country is beautiful, safe and offers a lot of opportunities for international students, especially in tech.
Likes (Safety): Dublin, especially the areas around campus, feels very secure. There are emergency contact numbers and 24/7 surveillance on and around the premises. Public transport is generally reliable and safe, and I often see Gardai (Police officers) patrolling the city. The presence of well-lit streets, helpful local and clear signage adds to the sense of safety. I've walked home late at night a few times and have never felt unsafe. But towards the north side of the city, people have faced robberies. Overall, Dublin is a really safe city to live in.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Dublin has a lot of options when it comes to Indian restaurants. Several great places serve authentic Indian food across different price ranges. Popular options include Doolally, Andhra Bhavan, Little Yeti and Spice Village. I enjoy exploring these places on weekends, but I also like cooking Indian food at home. Sometimes, specific regional Indian dishes can be hard to find or may not taste exactly like back home.
