Comfortable experience.
Tips: My transition has been positive and surprising so far. What I have noticed is that despite my programme being among the hardest ones, the curriculum is very well planned and thought through. Classes are well structured and the research programs are well known as well. The vibe is peaceful and the student body is quite close knit as well.

Peaceful and quite place.
Tips: I have experienced both ups and downs after coming here, and Kent is a very well-structured university. The whole town is very student-friendly and close-knit, but welcoming nonetheless. Classrooms have a lot of interaction, and office hours are available whenever needed.

Engaging and interactive classes.
Tips: The biggest learning I've gotten here is how to be independent while putting yourself out there. Kent has very passionate and involved professors who help in breaking the ice, and since class sizes are limited, there's more comfort and interaction involved. Cleveland is close by and good for networking prospects, and people have been good so far. However, there is a very limited scope for immigration.

Great quality of education and very helpful faculty.
Tips: Honestly, Kent is a very underrated place for the quality of education it provides. It's easier to get scholarships here as compared to a lot of other places, and there is more multi-faceted interaction in classrooms as well. There is a peaceful vibe here as the community is close knit with good people.

Great faculty and immense research opportunities.
Tips: Kent has a nice small-town feel with a tight-knit student community. Professors are truly passionate about teaching, and you can find research opportunities if you are proactive enough. The networking and growth opportunities are limited, so you'll have better luck in nearby cities.

Scholarships are mostly merit-based.
Tips: Life here is not as overwhelming as some of the bigger universities around, and you will be able to live at your own pace. I can vouch for its safety and sense of security as well, and student well-being is pretty positive as well. Scholarships here are mostly merit-based, and your GPA as well as your projects are equally important to get one. Cleveland has better scope for networking and opportunities, and it honestly doesn't make the most sense to come here as an international student with adequate scholarships, as you'll have to mentally prepare yourself to complete your degree and head back to your country.

This university is super good to pursue masters and is also a great place to live.
Tips: If you have someone here to help you with accommodation and also with finding on campus part time job then that would help you before joining the college. Basically, everyone would get to know everything after they come here. There is nothing to know that is important before coming. If you already know about the basic needs then it's good.
Likes (Safety): Kent state university and the place Kent is a very safe place to live. People can get accommodations nearby the university and we have bus facility for transport. I came for the fall 2022 intake till now I never heard any bad incidents from any known person.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Here, I can get Indian food from the restaurants nearby. Also, at my part-time the food we get tastes good, not super good but good to eat. We can get on campus jobs easily or we can find them on handshake website. Moreover, there are Indian stores nearby so its convenient.

The fee is excessive, and the number of credits required to complete the degree is too high.
Tips: If you are planning to study CA or BA courses, this is a good option. However, for AI, public health, aeronautical, or aviation programs, you need to give your full attention, and there's still a chance of not getting the desired grades, so think twice before joining Kent.
Likes (Public transportation): It is moderate if you want to explore the city; you need a car. Public transport is not an option; it is very bad. You have to rely on very bad people in some areas, and you have to be careful and watch out for constant construction around the city and residents' areas.
Dislikes (Value for money): The fee is excessive, and the number of credits required to complete the master's degree is too high. The course content is also not relevant for the workforce. Furthermore, the teachers are unhelpful; when asked about concerns, they suggest going back to my home country and completing the course online.

A home for growth and learning.
Tips: The transition was smooth but came with a cultural shift, more independence and diversity. I received a merit-based scholarship through academic performance, which covered part of my tuition. I spend my day attending classes, working on group projects, and hanging out with friends. I enjoy the vibrant campus life the most. Our college hosts fests, workshops, and cultural events regularly. I'm active in clubs like dance, debate, and entrepreneurship.
Dislikes (Safety): The faculty in our college is highly approachable and supportive, often going beyond scheduled office hours to assist students with academic and career-related concerns. Their mentorship creates a welcoming and collaborative and pleasant atmosphere.

Supportive faculty with great learning and growth opportunities.
Tips: Students should know that the college offers a supportive environment with a strong academic focus, but it requires consistent effort and time management. I experienced a cultural shift in terms of teaching methods and peer interactions, but gradually adapted.
Dislikes (Internships): The faculty members are very approachable. We can easily contact them, and they are very friendly to discuss doubts. They also encourage us to participate in events and activities held on campus.

Empowered by innovation and mostly practical learning.
Tips: My Friends helped me with the transition and the loneliness. There was definitely a cultural shock, but it was manageable and easy going. People here are really kind, helpful, and friendly. I didn't get any scholarship. Pretty good.
Likes (Part time work): We have various departments for on-campus jobs. The pay and flexibility are really good. Off-campus, we don't have many opportunities. Working on campus and along with our academics is highly manageable. It is really flexible, and the university does not give you work hours during your classes. The average pay at our university is $16 per hour.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Here we have American, Mexican, Chinese, and three Indian restaurants. Prices are reasonable. I really find it difficult to find vegetarian cuisine, but we have vegan options as well. Just be careful while ordering the food. I prefer both, but I prefer cooking mostly.

A transformative and rewarding journey at UIS.
Tips: UIS offers strong academics and a supportive environment. I experienced a positive cultural shift with open class discussions and diverse peers. I received a graduate assistantship covering partial tuition and a stipend. The University of Illinois Springfield offers a vibrant and welcoming environment that balances academics with social engagement. My typical day involves attending classes, working on group projects, and spending time at the library or student union. Outside academics, I enjoy interacting with peers from diverse backgrounds, which has helped me build lasting friendships and expand my perspectives. What I enjoy most is the sense of community on campus—whether it’s casual meetups or cultural celebrations, there’s always something happening that brings students together. The university organises a variety of events throughout the semester, including cultural festivals, tech talks, career fairs, and recreational activities. I try to participate regularly, especially in professional development events and international student gatherings. These not only make college life enjoyable but also contribute to personal growth. The campus also has several active student clubs and communities, such as the Data Analytics Club, International Student Organisation, Computer Science Club, and cultural groups representing different countries. These clubs host workshops, networking sessions, and fun activities, providing students with opportunities to connect, learn, and lead. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the university, course, and life in the U.S.—it’s been a rewarding experience overall.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The Data Analytics program at the University of Illinois Springfield offers an excellent academic experience. The professors are highly knowledgeable, combining strong academic backgrounds with practical industry experience, making the coursework both relevant and engaging. They are approachable, responsive to emails, and available during office hours, often going the extra mile to support students with academic or career-related queries. What makes the teaching methodology unique is the strong emphasis on hands-on learning; most courses involve real-world datasets, practical case studies, and projects using tools like Python, R, SQL, and Tableau. This practical approach helps bridge the gap between theory and real-world application, preparing us well for industry roles. Additionally, there’s a collaborative learning environment where professors encourage critical thinking and problem-solving. The faculty is also quite diverse in terms of nationality and cultural background, bringing a variety of global perspectives into the classroom. This diversity enriches discussions and provides a more inclusive academic environment.

Good university, easy and engaging curriculum and a vibrant student life.
Tips: There are different GA/GPSI positions available. Students should apply with their application. Students should also apply directly to the college site. The GRE is not required. Courses are not hard. Students have full flexibility in choosing the courses that interest them. The curriculum in computer science and data analytics is not tough and engaging. All of this makes this university pretty inexpensive and excellent to pursue a degree.

The multicultural environment makes it easy to integrate and supports student's cultural heritage.
Tips: Before joining UIS, students should know it offers a calm and focused learning environment with small class sizes and accessible faculty. The transition was smooth, though I experienced some cultural shift adapting to the quieter lifestyle and local communication style. I didn't receive a scholarship, but the tuition and living cost are relatively affordable.
Likes (Value for money): Numbers of student organisations and clubs are there for different activities, a multicultural environment and support make each student's life easier, also celebrate every festival, and enjoying weekends and parties are usual and refreshing activities for students.
Dislikes (Part time work): The University of Illinois Springfield has one of the best faculty members in the world. The state of Illinois and the surrounding area encourage students to grow in their careers and are always willing to help each other. The faculty members are always available to assist with any questions or career guidance.

Student life in authentic America's rural town with exceptional quality of education.
Tips: I got an internship on campus. However, the place I live is a country and a village, which means there is no nightlife or urban culture in the town. Most students might not like that. Overall, I'm satisfied with my university, course and country.
Likes (Quality of faculty): It is a small campus with so high professor-to-student ratio which highly helps in the quality of interaction between students and faculty. The faculty is very diverse from various countries, which helps the students to be confident in approaching the faculty.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are less and not great options for food from my country of origin. However, there is some great food from various other countries and local food to explore. We also have good supermarkets for all country food ingredients to make your comfort food in your room with your international friends.

Flexible course curiculum.
Tips: The academics for MIS course is flexible for students. The course in MIS is 8 weeks course which makes it more easy and flexible to complete the course. The students who are coming should not depend on part time jobs because there are fewer part time jobs on campus.

I was intrigued by the facilities and the history of the college.
Tips: One of the world's best universities. Great location with ethnicity not being the overriding factor in all things Bruin. School and classroom sizes are manageable and equipped. Beautiful architecture and grounds are very conducive to the learning process. I've learned a lot academically, practically, and morally. At first, it was difficult to adjust to the western system but the friends I had and the staff made it easy for me to get used to the system.
