MS in Pharmaceutics with Specialization in Industrial Pharmacy - Batch of 2025
3.6
The transportation in the area is good and affordable but the country is overrated.
Tips: There is definitely culture shock and there are some Indian roommates who can help to overcome it. If you have a good GPA you can be eligible to get a scholarship but my university doesn't offer any. This country is overrated and the facilities are not that good.
Likes (Public transportation): The transportation in the area is good and affordable. Both bus stops and the subway/path station are nearby. Cabs taxis and Uber rides on the other hand are very expensive. Fortunately there's a metro station right next to the university, so I can easily get to attractions like the Brooklyn Bridge which is 10 to 15 minutes away.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are no good options for vegetarians. It's best to cook your own meals. There are some affordable Indian restaurants with entrees in the 10 to 15. My top choices are Southern Spice and Biryani Pot. For evening snacks I recommend Sapthagiri and Vatan.

Costly to study but college is good.
Tips: College is good but the fee is too much I think. The fee is a big problem to study here. Compared to other colleges, the fee is double. For one semester fee here we will complete an entire course in other colleges. University location is good and faculty is okay and the food is not good for Indians.

Great learning, great campus, great mix of students and supportive faculty
Tips: It was a great learning experience. You get to meet students from different countries. Work on real projects and capstone. It is a fast-paced schedule and is good for working professionals. Scholarships are available based on your academic performance. New York is the city of dreams, one of the best places to study.
Likes (Safety): Very good location and good crowd. Everyone is supportive. This is a lively place with good food. Many public transportation are available. Insurance and good healthcare are available. Indian stores and malls are close by to Indian neighbourhood. Malls are close by for day-to-day shopping. Laundromat available.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Recession market causes difficult times post covid. Many companies look for US experience in your resume. Not all companies agree to sponsor h1 Visa. Cracking interviews is difficult. You have to apply to a lot of companies with no direct placements. But data Analytics has a good future and job market.

Good college, I had a nice experience.
Tips: You need to know the course curriculum before joining the course. You can do part-time on campus and you need to search for that. No scholarships are given by the college. I was satisfied with my college and course as it offered what was promised. Professors are good and helpful they provide all the materials required.

Apply now and experience the quality education that LIU has to offer at an affordable price.
Tips: Prepare for TOEFL/IELTS/GRE/GMAT, whichever is required. Part time opportunities are good here and one can benefit from this during their time. The education quality is best here so make sure you get the most of it.

With a friendly faculty and access to multiple internships, students from LIU are well-posted to secure the best jobs. From career prospects to educational resources, LIU best education is the perfect place to pursue your passions and equip yourself with the skills you need to succeed.
Dislikes (Part time work): I am glad to write that LIU part-time offers students a unique opportunity to work hard and compete on their own terms. With lots of commute options and a wide range of jobs to choose from, you can easily find something that fits your schedule. It's the perfect way to earn while you study.

Great college and very helpful for the future career support.
Tips: One should know about Long Island University, Brooklyn campus is that this college is very liberal when it comes to academics and very helpful for the subjective part. But for the on-campus jobs, I never got a chance to grab one. Not just me even my super seniors didn’t get any chance.
Likes (Post study jobs): I rated 5 star for the post study jobs because particularly my branch got plenty of opportunities out there in USA. Being from a physical therapy background I've got great openings and a future here in the USA. Also great support from the country as we were in the medical background
Dislikes (Part time work): Long Island University deserves only 1 star rating for the part time jobs. Because it doesn’t release any part time on campus jobs for any of the international students. Almost every job mentioned on their website is only for US citizens.

Getting on-campus jobs for international students is time-consuming, and the opportunities are rare.
Tips: Studying in New Jersey and New York doesn’t lead to a big cultural shift. It takes a little time to get used to the change, but it’s not a big deal. The course I’m in is exactly what I wanted, and it’s very good. It gives me a chance to learn a lot about the country and the place. The school has very good labs for science and technology majors. The quality of teaching and faculty at Long Island University is good, and one-on-one sessions can be done if you have doubts. Most of the professors are sweet and have the patience to clear your doubts. Usually, teaching goes through presentations, and you get a lot of assignments to keep you focused. Exams will be online mostly, but might happen offline too. The faculty is most loving, welcoming, and approachable, and the professors are good and helpful and provide the required materials. The university offers a vibrant campus life with various clubs, organisations, and amenities. The campus is known for its beauty and amenities.
Dislikes (Part time work): Getting on-campus jobs for international students is time-consuming, and the opportunities are rare. Following up with off-campus part-time jobs is easy if you're determined to find work. The pay ranges from 8 to 14 dollars per hour. Part-time work and school can be managed. It's not an issue.

Come with a certain level of preparedness.
Tips: What you should know is that the campus is very inclusive, engaging and there are resources for almost all your needs. Professors are attentive and approachable which was reassuring and classes are conducted in an interactive format. Lots of career fairs and networking sessions happen here. There is a safe and secure feeling here as students are quite united and there is efficient campus security. Any concerns are addressed and taken seriously and patrols take place too especially after dark. I've not had any major experiences here.

Good experience and exposure.
Tips: Education here is practical and theoretical. Assignments are formulated in a way that allows you to explore your creativity and niche but be careful in avoiding plagiarism and other academic misdemeanours here. The culture shift was more apparent in the first two weeks or so after which things became more natural. The city has a lot to offer so I spend my weekends exploring and meeting people with similar interests.

Tips: Coming to this university has helped me come out of my shell and participation and engagement are highly encouraged. There aren't any real restrictions both within and outside of classrooms so try to explore as much as you can in the time you have here. Things here work a certain way.
Tips: I found people here helpful and accepting and things in the university and the city are mostly student centric. Been learning a lot here.
Tips: I chose to come and pursue my education here as the programme seemed promising and I have been very passionate about working in data Science. The alumni network has been more helpful than I anticipated. The professors are well known in their respective fields. The campus is kind of far but the community is fun.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part time work barely exists here for those from abroad. There are some available on campus which get filled fast so it makes things nearly impossible. You will have to look for research work or lab work that pays if you're looking for a side hustle as solely relying on campus part time jobs can be very tricky.

Unpredictable scenarios, but good.
Tips: My transition here has been smooth and positive. I had given myself enough time to settle in and get used to a routine and the international student community was helpful as well. There are social mixers to break the ice and get to know people. The campus is also pretty safe mainly during the day. Sponsorship is barely available at this point so things have become stressful hence its more advisable to come after thorough planning.

Tips: A lot of my time here is spent socialising and exploring new things to do on campus whenever I get time aside from classwork. There are plenty of clubs based on whatever niche interest you might have and students are encouraged to explore and make independent decisions. Faculty has been kind when needed and other than course registration, everything has been pretty smooth. There are things pretty unpredictable here right now so come prepared.

Great connectivity and helpful faculty.
Tips: The university, while being top ranked isn't exactly well known and has its cons. The area of the university isn't that well suited compared to a city based university. The vibe is great but the weather isn't. There are no scholarships for MS in MIS. Overall, a good university.
Likes (Public transportation): There are buses to and from the campus all the time and also plenty of University transportation available at ease. There are Uber and Lyft application rides available at all times. Some of the colleges are off the main campus and yet there is good connectivity.
Dislikes (Student Life): It is a college town, which usually just includes the areas around the University. Not much to do except be involved in the university itself so the student life is mainly among your batchmates and events in the university. I spent most of my time with Indian students and in the Indian community.

BS in Statistics & Data Science - Batch of 2025

It is a new environment, be more participative and open to new things.
Tips: Before joining the UofA, I would recommend students to understand basic things about university like programs offered, campus culture, location, rankings etc. The university does offer scholarship based on our academic scores in high school; I did receive a scholarship. It's definitely a different experience since it is a new environment in which we are learning, but it has been great so far. I did experience some cultural differences initially, but now I have settled up well. It does take some time but always be more participative and open to new things.
Likes (Indian Food): There are enough Indian restaurants around campus and in Tucson. I know two restaurants, one of them is on campus and the other is very close to the campus. The prices are quite decent, ranging from 4$-20$ approximately. There are also other cuisines available like Vietnamese cuisine, Italian cuisine etc. I personally prefer cooking myself because being an international student, cooking saves a lot of money which could be used to pay the rent or tuition fee. I make meal plans or store food to save time during the workdays.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Sponsorship is a requirement for full-time jobs but not for internships. I think due to the ongoing recession and layoff period for this year, the post study jobs opportunities are very limited and has been difficult to find, especially for international students. Many companies are not offering sponsorship, but it is expected to ease up soon depending on the job market situation. However, the university offers certain research positions too which could be considered as an alternative option.
