MS in Statistics and Data Science - Batch of 2026

Globally reputed, research oriented and great for growth and networking.
Tips: Students should be prepared for a self directed learning style. Professors expect indenpendence and critical thinking. Most Masters course are highly research oriented, so developing strong analytical and writing skills helps a lot. Also knowing a basic German can make daily life smoother.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): Chances for PR are excellent in Germany. You need B1-B2 level German, a few required exams and around three years of work experience in the German Market. The process is straightforward and I would definitely consider setting here permanent. The table economy, strong work culture and high quality of like make German an ideal place to build a long term future.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is approachable and experienced, but their teaching style can be difficult to follow.

The university is great with good faculty and easy and affordable transportation.
Tips: The college is great. It has a good library and open-minded and helpful professors. Since the college is in Munich, a lot of people speak/know English so it is easy for people who don't speak German, although will advise them to learn it as it can be helpful in the future for the long run. There are scholarships for students, you can check the university website for details as I have not availed of any so don't know much about it. Get ready for a cultural shift because it's different here. The shopping experience, public transport, and paperwork for city registration and such. And one most important thing, getting good accommodation is tough, so be prepared to compromise a bit at least in the start.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The Indian food in restaurants is either too expensive and/or not as good. There are Indian shops but not as many, so might have to travel to get the things. Overall, if you want to have Indian food without paying too much, you have to make it yourself and good Indian street food is rare.

Best college in Germany to study biology
Tips: No cultural shift, it is a pretty easy going place with a lot of international students. I availed of DAAD scholarships two times in both the years. I am satisfied with my overall experience, it helped me to get a in the US including Ivy League. I will definitely suggest everyone to check the university.

Learning German is not necessary but will help.
Tips: The main problem you'll face will be finding accommodation in Munich. So if you are planning to come, start looking as soon as possible. The people here are really accommodating, so learning German is not necessary. However, it's always good to know, as it makes getting around the city really convenient.
Likes (Value for money): 0 Fees (except the 80 euros per semester) for a programme with exclusive lectures and amazing professors, workshops and tutorials from prominent people in my field, summer school, hackathons, data fest, and a practical with companies like Brain and Co. , Adidas, BMW, Lufthansa etc. Furthermore, the cohort is only ~20 people taken from a highly selective process. So you get really focused lectures and an amazing group of people to work with throughout your course.

Once in a lifetime experience
Tips: Make sure your CV is good and that you have done a lot of internships. Be prepared for the interview and the entrance exam. Make sure your basics are strong. Also, you should have a strong purpose of why you are applying for this university and what is your goal.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty here at LMU is best. They teach what they are currently researching on. All the syllabus is on the current laboratory status. The faculty is very friendly, easy-going, helpful, encouraging and fun. They know what they are teaching and they really have interest to teach the students and clear their doubts.
Dislikes (Part time work): It's difficult to get part time work even if there is an offer of a good job, there will be a lot of applications. There is always a possibility of you not getting a part time student job. So, the competition is very high to apply for a student job.

Street smartness is an important trait here.
Tips: I have felt a lot of warmth and acceptance after coming here. Bologna is quite an underrated place, but the experience has been so worth it. The university buildings are so historic and charming and makes learning a pleasure here. The biggest problem communication issues, and sometimes things can be a bit slow here, so you'll have to have a bit of patience.

Beautiful campus and city.
Tips: One thing to know is that there are not that many Indian food options. On the other hand, the Italian food here is excellent. Also, I would like to point out that there is a strong Indian community presence here, so you probably will not have to worry about that. I’d recommend learning a few basic Italian phrases. Also, be cautious of pickpockets in touristy areas. The faculty is very understanding and supportive and will encourage you to participate in clubs and events. People are very friendly and love to socialise as well.

Internships can be challenging to find.
Tips: Bologna is a very cultural, rich, and scenic place to be in which is why the student exchange programs have become very popular leading to interaction with fellow students from all over the world. You will need to take a few courses in Italian to be able to sustain here and the living cost are better than some of the other popular cities like Milan. A big challenge is getting your paperwork in order and these things can take a significant amount of time do rely on your peers and the international students union if possible.

The University of Bologna helped me to create a positive outlook.
Tips: I have experienced a very positive change in myself after studying here. The course curriculum is very diversified, and the courses are very relevant to the major you are pursuing, so you can experience the absolute best of knowledge and expertise in your domain. The faculty is great and very helpful, so you can reach out to them to solve any queries or problems. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experience.

Great experience and lots of memories to cherish.
Tips: Bologna is a beautiful but expensive city so you'll need to plan and budget for the same. I found the people to be warm, helpful and kind and this really contributes to my overall experience. Everything is pretty smooth except sometimes the paperwork and the administrative procedure take quite a long time.
Likes (Public transportation): The system for computing and transportation in Italy is really efficient and reliable at least most of the time. It is easy to navigate and you can usually trust the buses and trains to be on time. It makes travel a lot smoother and allows you to explore other parts of the city and country.
