Tips: Studying here has been like a dream for me, but it is really expensive, so you should plan financially or apply for a scholarship. The university career services are quite useful and helpful as well, so you should start early. Take advantage of all available campus resources. If you are stuck in a lesson, peer tutoring can be quite helpful.

Tips: Be ready for intense coursework as the vibe is competitive to the point, it can be tricky to stand out. My days last up to like ten hours at a time but it does pay off. An American Institute in the middleast
Tips: If you are not used to being in a diverse environment, the transition to NYUAD could be difficult. However, it is a very friendly campus with a zero-discrimination policy. For Indians, it is not very difficult to adjust because there's a large Indian community on campus. There are options to get a fully-funded education that covers everything and I got one. Your admission application process is through a common app, and if you want a fully-funded education, you can also submit a college board application. FAFSA will review it, and the university will provide you with financial aid accordingly.
Likes (Post study jobs): Post-study jobs depend on your field of study. STEM fields have more demand here but there are also companies who want individuals who have expertise in inter-disciplinary learning. There is definitely some scope but graduation from NYUAD gives me an edge while applying for jobs abroad as well. There is a 95% employment rate.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The UAE only gives you sponsorship visas and you cannot attain citizenship here. However, there are options to get a Golden Visa for 10 years with your academic excellence. If you complete a degree from the world's top 100 universities, you will get a golden visa. I personally enjoy living in the Emirates because it feels nothing less than India.

How to live in US as an International MS Student
Tips: NYC is the world capital, so the transition from India was pretty smooth. You get all the food options that you would get in India. The college offers merit-based scholarships, so ensure that your GPA doesn't fall off. The college offers a lot of networking opportunities. Make use of that and build a strong network, as that is what helps the most.
Likes (Part time work): On-campus employment opportunities are a great way to make money while still being in school. The pay is hourly. You can work up to 20 hours per week as a full-time student. The workload is manageable along with the academics. There are plenty of on-campus options which you can find on the college job board. Reach out to professors for those roles as well.
Dislikes (Safety): A lot of things can happen in NYC and you have to ensure to be safe at all times. Keep track of the surroundings. Apart from campus security, colleges organise sessions to keep international students informed about the various facilities along with common safety measures, which students can use to ensure their safety.

Living is a bit costly but it will be worth it.
Tips: Everything will be costly, and it's super easy to go beyond your budget. One of the best cities to live in, especially if you are used to being around a lot of people. Public transportation is the best in the country. On-campus jobs pay $29 per hour, which is excellent.
Likes (Student Life): It's New York City. Living in and around a city that many have only seen in movies. Probably every second corner is featured in one of the famous movies. There's a great nightlife if you want it, but it will cost you a limb. An immense number of on-campus clubs and communities are available.
Dislikes (Internships): Currently, internship opportunities are limited. As expected, career fairs are not very beneficial. The career center has made efforts to assist, but ultimately, it is the student's responsibility to secure an internship, and currently, the global market is unfavorable.

The best decision of my life.
Tips: NYU is in the heart of New York City, and it is one of the most multicultural places in the world. If you want to find Indian restaurants and Indian people to hang out with, you will find them here and if you want to meet people from all over the world they are right at your doorstep. I did not avail of a scholarship. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at NYU and the United States.
Likes (Quality of faculty): NYU law has some of the foremost authorities in their fields teaching you. The classes are engaging, the syllabus is well thought out with difficult yet enriching final assessments. There is a super wide range of classes to choose from all equipped with industry leaders as professors. Diversity in nationality of the teaching faculty was not a criterion I considered important so I have never paid attention to this.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The job market for international LLM's is extremely challenging with the demand for international legal talent in the US seemingly being far lesser than the supply. Having said that NYU Law does provide some solid fellowships for LLM's pursuing a public interest path.

Opportunities Unveiled with positive learning environment
Tips: Similar to any other international student I experienced a significant cultural transition. It took me around a month to transition completely into this new environment. The university has been fulfilling, offering a positive learning environment and numerous opportunities for personal and academic growth. Overall, my satisfaction level with the university, my course (MSCS), and the country has been high.
Likes (Quality of faculty): I gave a rating of 5 to the Quality of Faculty because the professors in my department are renowned experts in their fields. Their teaching methods are unique, with the added benefit of easily accessible resources, including class recordings and lecture notes. The professors come from various regions of the world, providing a global perspective in the learning environment.
Dislikes (Part time work): I found that on-campus job opportunities are somewhat limited, and it's recommended to start applying early. As a Masters's student, I could only apply to on-campus part-time jobs in my first year, however, in my second year I had the freedom to apply for off-campus part-time jobs as well. Balancing part-time with academics gets a little hectic, but it is manageable. The payout for on-campus part-time is between 25-30$/hr.

Tips: I learned to plan my time well which helped me to take on courses, study and prepare well for the job market.
I received an 18K scholarship split over 2 years dependent on maintaining at least 3.33 GPA.
I am satisfied with NYU, USA is a good place to be.
Likes (Public transportation): MTA in NYC is well connected and easier to travel through once you know how to. The fare is $130 for an unlimited metro pass for a month. Each individual ride costs $2.9, while if you travel to college frequently, then you pay via OMNY NFC pay, which allows you to travel without having to use a MetroCard.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Needless to say, PR in USA is getting competitive day by day. A large number of students apply to the USA and given the H1-B lottery system, it is competitive and based on luck. Having said that, PR shouldn't be the primary motivation for pursuing Master in the USA.

Likes (Public transportation): New York has the best public transport. The subway which functions round the clock, and public buses as well are very well connected and easily navigable. This strategy helps in managing the workload effectively without getting overwhelmed, especially since the professors, though mostly good, can vary in teaching styles and course demands. Engaging with seniors for advice on course and professor selection can be particularly beneficial. This approach allows for a more informed decision, helping to align courses with your interests and academic strengths. Financial Aspects and Scholarships: On the financial front, the college offers scholarships, like the one I received which amounts to 6000$ per year. This scholarship was awarded based on my academic and professional profile.
Personal Experience and Satisfaction: Personally, having completed one semester, I am quite satisfied with the courses and professor. The quality of education, especially in the MS CS course, is commendable. However, there are challenges, such as the large batch size which inversely affects the availability of on-campus jobs. This is a significant consideration for those relying on such opportunities for financial support or professional experience.
Cultural and Social Adjustment: As for the transition to college life, there has been an interesting cultural shift, especially given the college's location in a vibrant city. This environment offers a plethora of activities and experiences, ensuring that you rarely feel bored or homesick. The cultural diversity and the city's dynamism make it an exciting place to live and study. This aspect greatly enhances the overall experience, offsetting some of the drawbacks of the campus itself.
Likes (Public transportation): This is New York City which unarguably has the best subway system in the world. You can go from any point in the city to anywhere you want using the subways. Also, the subways are pretty affordable. One ride will cost you 2.9$. Other than that, you also have bus services which are 24/7.
Dislikes (Part time work): The large batch size but small campus results in fewer on-campus job opportunities. Especially in the first semester, it is very hard to find an on-campus job. My advice would be to email professors and department heads on opportunities pertaining to on-campus jobs. The pay is very good where you can earn up to 28.5$/hr which will cover your living expenses.

A wholesome once in a lifetime experiece.
Tips: Common issues irrespective of university:
1. Getting acclimated to the culture of the place, weather, neighbourhood etc.
2. Having a network of support and building friends.
3. Shift in emphasis from scoring on exams to working consistently. Course specific:
You always are loaded with work. More often than not, you find yourself working on the assignments, and projects or catching up with lecture concepts. This may make you feel like you don't have a social life since you know people from other departments have house parties more often. End of the day, I'm glad I pushed through the loads because the learnings I get from these are unparalleled. Remember, we are here to study. This comes first.
Scholarships: Merit based scholarship of $4000 per semester of 9 credit. This amount is decided based on the application material, no need for extra application. Satisfaction: If you have a mechatronics background, it's better if you apply to CE and take these subjects. MS mechatronics and robotics as of 25 batches don't have flexibility. Some of the courses that I felt were a waste of money for me were Mechatronics and Entrepreneurship. This reduced the number of core courses that I can pursue. On the other hand, Robotics being a specialisation for CE, all our courses are open for them providing better flexibility. But overall, my knowledge growth has been significant and would say it was worth the money.
Likes (Student Life): You literally have some or the other event every other day. These cover things like social, career, fireside chats etc. There are about 100 clubs in total. So probably there is a club for anything you can name. Every one of these clubs has a target of organizing at least 3 events a semester which means all of them are active clubs. There are multiple project clubs too if you want to get your hands dirty and gain practical experience.
Dislikes (Part time work): Since our batch had the highest intake, the amount of competition was higher as well. This makes it difficult to land an on-campus. Another reason is the pay. Graduate workers minimum wage as on date is 28.25 an hour which makes the department budget stringent in allocating Gas. My course load is hectic when compared to other departments, so an international student with a job other than a desk job will face difficulty handling the same.

Tips: To be honest, I haven't experienced any cultural shift. But yes there are scholarship offered along with some allowance. However, the accommodation, which off campus and it cost around 500 USD for sharing and 1700 USD for private room. Traveling by subways is very safe. I am a new incoming student over here, so don't comment on placement. But layoffs are really a great consideration factor. My i20 amount is around 60k. But till now am very much satisfied by my university and my core course. Any is an place to be in context of education also.

Tips: I did not experience any major cultural shifts at NYU. Make a group of 4 students and preferably look for accommodation together. Would be cheaper that way and less stressful. I received a scholarship from the university and you do not need a separate application for it. You will find many Indian and Chinese students in your class.
Dislikes (Value for money): I kind of feel the tuition fee is justified as NYU makes sure to give everything back via the various events and opportunities it gets for you.
Moreover, the university provides an awesome research environment and has one of the highest graduate starting salaries in the United States. Moreover, being in NYC has its own advantage.

Diverse and different university experience.
Tips: Moving to Melbourne was a big change but a great cultural experience. The city is diverse and welcoming, though at the university, most of my classmates were from Asian countries, with very few Australian classmates. which was a cultural shift for me. I received the FBE graduate scholarship of approx. $25,000 AUD fee remission by applying directly at the university.
Likes (Indian Food): You can usually find lots of restaurants with different cuisines. One time meal costs anywhere from $23 to $35, depending upon the restaurant, cuisine, etc.
I usually prefer a blend of both, cooking at home 5-6 days and eating outside 1-2 days a week.
Dislikes (Value for money): Studying at the University of Melbourne felt like an interesting cultural experience, but academically and financially, it did not meet my expectations. The tuition fees are extremely high, and I didn't feel the value provided was justified at all. Many subjects were just plain theory rather than practical, leaving me less prepared for employment than I had hoped.

Tips: Do not come here expecting to land a part-time working gig as soon as you arrive. Things like that don't happen easily and take a lot of time. You eventually handle yourself after finding some initial difficulty adjusting to the cultural and ethnic changes in the city. Overall, Melbourne is one of the most accommodating places I've ever been to.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Students can have the time of their lives here. There's literally everything here that a student can ask for. With over two hundred clubs and societies, UniMelb forms one of the biggest student communities in the country, students are given the freedom to explore themselves.
Dislikes (Student Life): The faculty has complete knowledge about their subject, and even beyond that, they're the perfect mix of teacher and mentor. They also know how to maintain their boundaries from students and aren't very over-friendly or in your face with regards to your personal life.

Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation in Melbourne is said to be one of the most well-structured in the world. There are three options: trams, trains, or buses. It's easy to travel to any suburb, and intercity trains are affordable and easy to use.

Finding part-time work can be challenging if you live in the city.
Tips: My transition was rather very personal and socially based. Things get very overwhelming when you leave the shadow of your parents and manage everything alone. Making friends was really difficult for me, and my studies consequently got affected. But over time, you realise that you won't get loyal friendships here. One of the funniest culture shocks was the Unisex Washrooms. Rest, people aren't conservative here, but I suggest you be safe from junkies, since they attack a lot. I couldn't get any scholarship from Unimelb despite getting 92.5% in 12th grade - CBSE. But from other students I know as of July 2023, you can get a grant of 10,000 AUD. Personally, UniMelb is too strict and stressful with studies. There aren't a lot of options if you're seeking courses like fashion studies. I'd suggest Monash for business-oriented subjects. The classes aren't interactive or individual-focused focused especially if you have an Asian tutor.
Likes (Public transportation): If you reside in the city, trams are super convenient, and student accommodation is well-located near the university. Myki cards with a concession cost $5 and are affordable, but many students don't use them often. There are also free tram zones that don't require a Myki card at all! If you need to travel from the suburbs, trains and buses are also super convenient, costing AUD 10 per trip.
Dislikes (Part time work): It is fairly difficult to secure on-campus jobs. Finding part-time work can be challenging if you live in the city. I've been searching for a job myself for the past year, although I did have a part-time job for three months during my first semester. Managing part-time work alongside academics is not difficult at all.

Tips: The University of Melbourne is quite academically oriented when compared to other universities in Melbourne. So, most probably you might hear your friends from another university saying that they don't have exams. But it's quite important to think that exams are a more preferable mode of analysis and can give value to our degree. It also makes sure that we won't steer away from our studies. I was automatically granted a scholarship of 10000 AUD off my fee, but as mentioned, it was assigned to me based on my track record back in India.
Likes (Safety): The campus is extremely safe for students. There are phone booths around the campus, and they provide easy access to security if you’re ever feeling unsafe. The staff of campus buildings are generally very supportive. And the campus security guards do a good job of making the university safe for everyone.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The job market right now is changing drastically, and many courses are being taken off from the PR options, but I believe the university provides enough resources for us to find jobs and utilise the most of it. Ultimately, I wish to get a job in Australia itself, as biotechnology has a great market.

Tips: Melbourne is a fun city, and the people are wonderful. University life has been amazing so far. There are so many clubs that you can join and be a part of, and the academics are also so rigorous and hands-on. I was offered the "Business and Economics Graduate Scholarship". It was given based on my undergrad performance. I really enjoy the course that I am doing, the city is wonderful, and so is the university.
Likes (Part time work): On-campus jobs are really competitive but high-paying. For off-campus part-time jobs, you need to go and hand your resume in at the store for a higher chance of success. Managing part-time and university was a bit challenging in the beginning, but you get used to it as time goes by. The average payout for part-time work is $24/hr, and for casual roles, the pay is usually higher, around $30/hr.
Dislikes (Internships): There is a lot of guidance available for finding internships at university. They have university-source and self-source internships. But the university-source internships are really competitive and hard to get. There are so many internship options of internships available in my field of study.

Come if you’re financially secured as the city can be very expensive.
Tips: I got a 50% scholarship plus a $10000 grant. This was availed through automatic consideration. Aussies are very easy-going and respect people a lot. Be ready to feel alone and homesick in the initial days as well.
Likes (Part time work): I work as a chief in a restaurant part-time. It's off campus, easily manageable, and pays $800 to $900 weekly. On-campus part-time jobs are also available, but fewer in number. I landed the job by handing out physical resumes, and I get annual and sick leave.
Dislikes (Value for money): In my opinion, the Master of Management program is far too expensive for what it has to offer. The overall module structure is very easy. The course selection has limited options, and not everything in the curriculum matched my skill set. But I have to admit that the professors are nice and knowledgeable. The course focuses more on theory and case studies than actual practice.

Vibrant and fun campus life.
Tips: The social life here is unique in that it’s like a circle of friends who are already familiar with each other. So it’s hard to make new friends. There are scholarships available, but they’re really competitive for international students. On the other hand, the campus is very pretty and the university is great, so as long as you’re lucky, you can make some great friends here. While there are job opportunities available, it can still be difficult to find work with the amount of competition. However, the university does have helpful services and websites to aid in the job search. All things considered, it's still a pretty competitive market. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.

Tips: I really enjoy the culture at the University of Melbourne, even though it's very different from home. The University of Melbourne is located in the central business district, which is a safe area that is always well-lit and has people around. The university also provides safety measures, such as security guards who will walk you from class to class or to your on-campus accommodation. These measures help to ensure that you feel safe and secure while you are on campus. The classes are very large, with up to 500 students, so it's hard to get individual attention from the professors. Also, the professors are from many different countries, and some of them are not very fluent in English, which makes it hard to understand them. In addition, I find that my particular course is too math-oriented and doesn't require enough critical thinking, which is not a good fit for my personal aptitude. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

Tips: The campus life is amazing and the people are so loving, very warm and welcoming to students. The exams are a bit hard, but you can push through. There are so many parties, functions, and other activities. Plus, you get free food almost every day. There are few on-campus jobs. However, a good number of off-campus jobs are available if you look for them the right way. Part-time work is manageable if you are a good student. The average pay is minimum wage, which is 24 dollars per hour if you are 21 or older, and 19, 20, and 21 dollars if you are 18, 19, and 20, respectively. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

Tips: There are multiple things people need to understand before going to a different country. It is not a fairytale. Students work like labourers here, especially at the University of Melbourne. The curriculum is hard, compared to other universities. If you want a job you will need references. I'm a government-sponsored student, I was awarded a 100% scholarship from the Maharashtra government. You can find more details on the sjsa.com website. To avail of this scholarship you should have a family income lower than 6 Lacs per annum, almost above 90% in graduation degree and should be SC caste. Overall University of Melbourne puts a lot of pressure on students, Infrastructure and teachers are good, but student support for career guidance could be improved. On a scale of 1-5, I will give 2.5 for university satisfaction. I will highly advise not to take any management course in any of the unis in Australia as it has no PR or job security. 1 for course satisfaction. Likes (Safety): The University of Melbourne is extremely safe, and there is an extremely low crime rate in the city. This is not particular to this university; every reputed university in Australia is safe. There are security people roaming around the city, and there is no gun culture in the entire country.
Dislikes (Value for money): The courses are extremely expensive and provide very low ROI. Job opportunities are very limited, and it is extremely difficult to find a job or internship. Even people with 10 years of experience in management can't find jobs.

Tips: The university offers grants and scholarships. Students should check them out. Stores here close by 5 pm and most cafes by 3 pm, so if you are not an early riser, you need to change that. I am quite satisfied as the university teaches me and also makes me research to gain better insights.
Likes (Student Life): The university does provide a lot of events and activities on campus to keep the students engaged. There are networking sessions, games, and free food. There are so many clubs to join and engage in their activities. I participate once a week in an activity. The clubs are from cultural, academic as well as hobby backgrounds.
Dislikes (Part time work): The University has not provided us with much options for part-time. Students mostly seek part-time jobs outside. It is quite manageable if you keep your classes for 3 days and work 3 days. You can balance work and studies. The average payout for part-time work is Aud 450 per week.

Tips: It's one of the most livable cities in the world, and it's very student-oriented, which makes it easy to make friends. The university itself has a QS ranking of 13, which makes it the best university in Melbourne, and definitely one of the best in the world. I recommend that you try to make friends in each class you have. If you're an introvert, there are lots of activities that don't require you to mingle with people so much. I'm very satisfied with my experience at the University of Melbourne.
Likes (Internships): Internships here are very popular. While it may be hard to find a paid internship, there are a lot of companies that offer unpaid internships. If you do a good job, you may be able to parlay that experience into a paid position after graduation. I suggest that you download LinkedIn and start networking with people in your field.
Dislikes (Part time work): For Bachelor students, it's a bit hard to get a paid job because Australia mostly considers Australian work experience. However, you can move your way up by joining university clubs and internships, even if they're unpaid. Basically, you just need to engage yourself in activities.

Tips: You are on your own to find a job. The course is difficult and you have to be constantly working during the semester. You should have good financial background and good academic skills. In order to secure a job, make sure you work hard throughout the course, and maintain a good WAM. If you want to go into the industry, try to get some professional experience beforehand. A lot of people are considering a Ph.D. after my course.
Likes (Safety): The country is safe as everyone knows. Generally no thefts or risks to women. Of course, it is not crime-free. The chances of your cycle getting stolen are high. Also, there are people on the street under the influence who can be a nuisance sometimes as they sometimes shoot but often they don't do any harm.
Dislikes (Internships): No internships are provided by the university. You have to find one yourself. However, it is generally hard to find an internship. It is not that tough to find part-time jobs but still requires some work. Good connections can be really helpful for finding a job.

Likes (Safety): The city is very secure and it is one of the best cities to live in the world. It is safe because people follow laws, rules and regulations and you would not see anyone on the road with a knife so until you are a good citizen you are safe here.
Dislikes (Value for money): Even after receiving a scholarship, the fee is too much. If you are not from a very well-to-do family and have taken a loan to be a part of a prestigious university, even if you get a good job, you have a huge amount to pay back. So it is not about what is provided, it's more about how much it costs.
