A fun, immersive, and intensive experience.
Tips: There are a lot of scholarship opportunities available for students here. I was lucky enough to receive a full scholarship from the university to study here. It was difficult to adapt to the British culture at first, but over time, with the help of friends and peers, it started feeling like a 2nd home! Overall, I am genuinely glad I took the decision to study abroad in this particular university and country.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is fantastic here. The University puts a lot of effort into making each and every student feel comfortable. It organises numerous events like Colour run, graduation ball, Painting, sports activities, Karaoke Thursdays, pool activities, and so much more. My typical day in college looks like - attending classes, roaming around on campus and participating in fun activities during break, having lunch with my friends, attending more classes, and heading to the library in the evening to prepare for assignments/exams.
Dislikes (Internships): There are various internship opportunities available, but they are mostly for Bachelor's students. Finding one for an M.Sc. student can be time-consuming, but it is possible. Nowadays, it is hard to find a job that provides sponsorship. Luckily, one can still work here after graduation with their Postgraduate Work Visa for two years. That gives one time to decide what exactly to do.

Opportunistic, growth, and fun loving with academic focused.
Tips: Students should do their own research because everyone has different preferences. There are scholarships, and there are lots of cultural societies to join that provide opportunities for networking.
Likes (Value for money): Considering the fees for my course I feel it was worth it as you will be getting a degree from one of the top 100 universities in the world and also Russell Group university. Also, the cost of living in Southampton is relatively less than other cities and it has all the required amenities.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): If you have around 3 to 5 years of prior experience, then it's relatively easy to get a job with a Skilled Worker visa. Once you complete 5 years on that, you can get permanent residency. However, I am not planning to settle in the UK and have different priorities.

University of Southampton is a great university with highly qualified faculty.
Tips: The transition was smoother than expected. A suggestion is to try to decide your flatmates before you come here, living with friends will help with homesickness and overall, a better life abroad. There was no scholarship for the ECS Department at the University of Southampton. I did, however, complete two part-time paid technical internships that helped me with my cost of living. The course was decent; I expected a bit more from it, but overall, the facilities provided were very good. And thanks to the less demanding course, I could complete two internships during the second and third semesters. I personally love living and working in the UK.
Likes (Internships): The ECS department at University of Southampton has an active Placement Office and cell that sends out at least two emails per day, often for new roles or jobs. The officer also hosts talks with various companies, such as giants like Apple and Google as well as niche markets such as McLaren and Alpine. There are also some offers from small-scale companies. The University of Southampton Internship Portals has a lot of internship offers. I applied for and completed an internship there, but then I also got another internship from a company that a placement officer sent. For me, internships went great, and I'm not the only one – some of my friends got internships through this portal, too.
Dislikes (Value for money): The course was all theory, and especially for subjects like Web and mobile application development, we expected some hands-on lab sessions in our curriculum, which was unfortunately not possible. The ECS department at University of Southampton does not provide any scholarships, so the fee that I paid which is 28,000 GBP was somewhat on the higher end than what the course offered.

Know what you want to achieve and do your own research.
Tips: Vegetarians/Vegans may have a hard time after coming here initially. Once they figure out the food they want, it gets better. People who don't like partying and drinking may have to go out and put some effort into finding the people who vibe with them, as partying and drinking culture is dominant here. The course is okay, the university is good, and the country is good during summers, but in winters, it can get depressing due to the bad weather.
Likes (Public transportation): The university has its own buses that are well-connected with the entire city. The frequency is good as well. The bus transport may be a bit costly, depending on your frequency of travel. However, there are cycle and electric scooters freely available around the city; simply download the app and use them. They are much more affordable than the bus.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fee for my course isn't justified from my perspective. I had some prior working knowledge of my field, and I expected to upskill myself. However, I didn't get to learn much from the course itself. For M.Sc. for semester 1, there are just 2/2.5 months of teaching before the Christmas vacation arrives, post which you have your exams. Then the same for semester 2, 2/2.5 months of teaching, then vacation, and then exams. After that, you have to work only on your final project, no college after your 2nd semester. One can learn so much more by opting for hands-on courses in your own country than paying so much more and not getting the quality in return. Generally, people who are suffering here will still post all good things on social media, which misleads those students who are deciding whether they should come to the UK for higher education. Do your own research and then decide. The only thing that is the MVP here is the value of the degree from here, since this university has a good international rating.

The campus is warm and vibrant and has many on-campus events.
Tips: It's a life-changing experience from my point of view, as you get to meet people from all around the world, and try new things you never dream of doing before. The University of Southampton has more than 200+ different clubs and societies, so there is something for everyone. For business school, you can also get a dean's scholarship of around 8000 pounds if you have 80% in your undergrad.

The placements are very few and it is difficult to land a job.
Tips: The coursework in the B.A.M.S. course at the University of Southampton is going to be technical challenging and aligns with the industry standards. You may expect a lot of statistics and advanced data analysis modules. I had obtained a scholarship of 5 lacs which brought down my fees to 20 lacs. I think that was a good value for money considering the university ranking and the course they offered. There is also an option for doing the dissertation with an industry/company. I think that's an opportunity to build real world analytical and business skills, but you should know that the placements are very few, and you'll have to apply for all the jobs yourself. Go through the tedious application process in the UK. The placements are very few, and it seems that the only way to land a job is to have 2-3 years of solid work experience in a similar domain.
Likes (Public transportation): Southampton has the best bus service in the UK. Contrary to other places, Southampton only has one bus provider, so it is easy to get around. The bus provider runs all the routes, and one bus pass allows for unlimited travel. If you rent a place, you can find something near the Highfield campus that is within walking distance of the university.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): My chances are high for obtaining a permanent settlement in the next four years, as I have obtained a skilled worker visa. Work-life balance, quality of life, workplace quality, and pay are the major motivating factors for permanent immigration to the UK. However, students generally find it difficult to land a job, mainly because of a lack of work experience and understanding of the job market and domains. Speak with at least 2-3 alumni who passed the course and obtained a job/sponsorship.

Great environment, but course experience varies.
Tips: The transition was mostly smooth, with a few initial hurdles and a slight cultural shift. I received a small automatic scholarship from the university upon applying. While I enjoy the country and environment, my satisfaction with the university and course depends on the specific subject - mine hasn't fully met expectations yet.
Likes (Public transportation): While the campus is very well connected to the rest of the city by frequent buses and trains, the cost can be quite high for students. A daily bus pass is around 35, and an annual pass can go up to 3400, which may not be affordable for everyone. Despite the cost, the convenience and reliability of public transport make it easy to navigate the city and access essential areas like shopping centres, train stations, and student accommodation.
Dislikes (Student Life): Although the university offers a vibrant and diverse range of events and clubs, it can sometimes feel overwhelming due to the sheer volume of activities- many of which require paid entry. My typical day involves attending lectures, which can be routine, but I enjoy unwinding at the sports complex, especially at the gym or on the badminton court. The campus hosts frequent cultural, social, and networking events, and while I do participate occasionally, I prefer to be selective. With over 200 student societies- from photography and entrepreneurship to badminton- there is something for everyone, though some clubs can be quite capital-intensive.

A well-balanced university with strong academics and many on-campus activities.
Tips: This is a good university for balancing work and social life. There are lots of societies, which means there are plenty of chances to make friends and meet new people. It has a good reputation for my course, and the course itself has a good mix of lectures and hands-on experience. There are multiple opportunities for internships specifically in medicine. There are a lot of hands-on experience opportunities such as placement/clinical years. The university has good connections with multiple hospital and clinics. Public transportation here is good, as the city is well connected. There are delays and cancellations in both trains and buses though, and that makes it not very ideal. However, taxis and Ubers are an option, and they are affordable. Overall, I am very much satisfied with my course, university and the country.

Excellent C suite facilities and programme.
Tips: Students should maximum try to get good scholarships, as most of the universities here provide decent scholarships. Also, it would be better to take the majority of cooking stuff and spices before coming here, as these are a little bit costly here. Better try not to spend too much once you reach here, as this will exhaust you.
Likes (Safety): Safety is so important here and you can travel at anytime as per your convenience. The security which we get in the UK is extremely good. Especially in the university area, there are security vans which used to travel in late hours. They ensure the safety of the students and faculty members.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I mostly prefer Indian food and here we get it so scarcely. Mostly western and Chinese foods are seen. This is mostly because the university is in the outskirts of London area, where Indians are comparatively less. I prefer cooking rather than eating outside. It would be better to bring some ready-to-cook items for the initial days.

A good value for money and a great place.
Tips: Before joining the student must know all the required modules. They need to study before the course starts and know how to apply for scholarships because getting it is not a big task. I am highly satisfied with the country as well as the university along with students, the place is fun.
Likes (Post study jobs): Post study jobs are hard to find as very less companies sponsor you. Even after PSW it's difficult to get a job out here. But the packages are good and even the roles are good. Jobs are for software engineers and senior software engineers as well. All good roles are available you just need to find them.
Dislikes (Internships): Not many internships are available for the students. As it's just a one-year course and the schedule is really very hectic and it doesn't allow much time to apply for them. Internships are there but you need to search them thoroughly. Guidance will be given by the college to apply.

Try to build networks with people in your field.
Tips: The place is dull and dark and becomes lonely when no one is around. The university is stressful but hard work can help you steer your ship. The university has one of the best e-resources in the whole UK. You can take its help to overcome difficulties you face in your academic journey.
Likes (Indian Food): There are many good places to eat when it comes to native food cusines. I preferred eating outside, especially chaiwallas and the Rio's. There are restaurants run by people of sub-continental origin that make good and affordable food. There are Indian and Pakistani stores that sell groceries that help you cook food you are used to.
Dislikes (Internships): There are not many internships offered by the university but one can on his own go on a venture to find something relevant to his field. The main thing is that networking helps you get good opportunities and makes life easier for you. There is a great chance of success if only you put in sheer hard work and try to stay ahead.

Getting a permanent job is difficult. Research is required for this course.
Tips: The one thing that students must keep in their mind is that, please equip yourself with some work experience because the course is practical and you will get the advantage. It will be easier for you to get a decent job or internship. I hope this will help. Research well about your course structure as well.
Likes (Part time work): There are many part time job opportunities in the city. You can easily find a job using website like totaljobs, linkedin etc. I had many friends who used to work part-time in places like Subways, Primark, McDonald etc. I guess finding a job with Tier 2 is quite hard but not part time job.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I rated low on Permanent Immigration cause after the completion of masters everyone looks for a job which provides the Tier 2 Visa or Skilled Worker Visa but there is huge competition for those jobs. The economy crashing and the growth of Artificial Intelligence is also killing jobs.

Decent college for business
Tips: I am highly satisfied with the university and really looking forward to start a career now. The course and everything are really satisfying and this country I can't say is comfortable but yes has a bad climate and no sunlight at all. But people are fine.
Likes (Post study jobs): There are ample amount of companies available for post study work visa but still getting a job is not that easy. You really have to put your foot forward to get a decent paying job without any hustle. The jobs are related to our roles and business analytics has a great scope.
Dislikes (Internships): Not much guidance is there when it comes to applying for internships. Also for postgraduate student there is lack of opportunities available when it comes to internships because of the working hours being less during the term time. With that said it's not an impossible task though to get an internship.

Good college with a better understanding of the courses.
Tips: Students should have a good experience and then come to get the Masters's as that provides an upper hand when it comes to job hunting. There are not many scholarships available for this course but I am highly satisfied with the university and would suggest people join it.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transport is well connected through the city of Southampton and you get a free bus pass when you live at student accommodation by the University and that is really of great help. Public transport is cheap and connects you through the entire city and no restrictions on the no. of times you travel.
Dislikes (Internships): Internship opportunities are fewer because part time student hours are less and there are restrictions on working full time on student visa. And with dissertation in hand, you hardly get time for the internships. But there are quite a few companies which do give opportunities.

Tips: I have learnt to do things on my own. There was not much cultural shift as I interacted with many Indian students. I got a scholarship of 5000 pounds on the basis of my merit. I am highly satisfied with the university and my course is quite in demand as far as the country is concerned it's fine.
Likes (Part time work): The average payout for part times is around 10 pounds and it is quite manageable with the academics. On-campus availability is not that easy to get but there are ample amount of opportunities outside the campus. I myself am doing part time on-campus job and it's manageable.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are good Indian restaurants but very few options are available. Pricing is high of course but prefer making my food by myself rather than going out and giving that much amount of money. On an occasion basis going out to the restaurants is good but a bit pricy.

Don't think twice before joining the University of Southampton
Tips: Ranked 21st in the United Kingdom, the University of Southampton is an excellent educational institution to opt for. Fantastic infrastructure, a beautiful campus, and a great environment for group as well as solo studies as well. On-campus accommodation is okay and the food options available are full of variety for Indian students and students of other nationalities as well.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation in the whole of England is very smooth and well navigated. I have never had a single issue while commuting from the campus to my residence and vice versa. There are special discounts for the travel of students as well in London.
Dislikes (Internships): Internships at the University of Southampton are at par with industry standards. However, there is more focus on academia and placements. The university focuses more on getting students handy with the outside world's requirements. But, for internships, easy to find, students have to step on their own feet.

A great experience, but do research the UK job market before making a decision.
Tips: I'm happy with the course I took at the University of Southampton. However, I was disappointed with the lack of job opportunities. If you are considering this university, be prepared to put in extra effort. Study the previous year's papers and understand the exam pattern. Faculty members will help you if you ask. Also, scholarships are available for business-related courses but are rare for engineering courses.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is very well connected to major parts of the city. The ticket prices are affordable if you’re a student, a student discount is available. The buses are frequent during the term time and very convenient. Transportation mode is mainly by bus. There’s a single train station in the city centre and an airport on the outskirts of the city.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Not many jobs are available right now. Especially for sponsored jobs, you’ll need to start searching very early on during the course. Despite that, many people still haven’t landed a job and are doing part-time work to sustain. PSW is another major expense at the end of the course. It’s a burden if you haven’t landed a job.

Likes (Value for money): It's a good value for money university. As it ranks among the best universities for computer science in the UK. Renowned companies take part in recruiting students from Southampton. Overall, not that expensive yet good value for money and the infrastructure is amazing too.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are some good choices available for Indian food but cannot match the taste. Low in quality food is there. Many Indian hotels are there that give good food and apart from that, even the tiffin service is available. However, I prefer eating at home.

Part-time work opportunities in York are plentiful because it's a tourist destination.
Tips: It’s a beautiful, pleasant town. And the university was a good choice for my area of study. Students must be careful while choosing the place they wanna live in according to their preferences. It’s definitely not easy to live in a whole new place, leaving family and home. Part-time work opportunities in York are plentiful because it's a tourist destination. Students should be able to get good tips because the restaurants are usually busy. They also have the chance to work at stores and malls in the city centre, where commissions are paid on top of the base wage, providing an added incentive to perform well.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I personally wouldn’t want to settle in the UK as their healthcare system isn’t great. If you have a really high-paying job, then maybe it’s a good choice. But it’s not easy to manage the cost of living there as it’s too high. And kids won’t be getting any citizenship until 7 years old, which is another con.

Great campus life, amazing academics but dull UK job market.
Tips: Academics are rigorous but not stressful. It focuses on more independent study. Time management and self-discipline are crucial. York is a historically picturesque city but small compared to other cities like Birmingham and Manchester. It's great for students who enjoy a laidback atmosphere, as it gives easy access to nature and historically sits. The cost of living is on the higher side. You can find international stores to get desi stuff. UK academic culture stresses critical thinking and independent research, so that's one thing that was a bit different from India. For many the UK weather could be a challenge and sunlight hours also affect people. I did not avail of scholarships, but my friends did. You just have to write an essay or answer a few questions, and if you have done well, you can get a fee exception. I am very satisfied with my university and course. But the job market in the country is a bit of an issue.
Likes (Student Life): I would say exceptional student life. Lively campus and picturesque views. I mean, the campus is really beautiful. A short walk can cheer one up on your worst day. The university accommodation is fantastic. UoY provides an inclusive atmosphere. My day started with lectures and seminars followed by self-study in UoY's world-class library facility. Then I would go for free sports, where I made a lot of friends from different countries and backgrounds. The freshman week is the best time. You make really good connections and enjoy free food. The library is open till late hours and 24x7 during examinations. Various kinds of events are organized, and you can experience the Roses tournament as well. The variety of student-run societies like academic societies, sports clubs, and cultural and international societies allows each student to get involved. There are student discounts on food and gym subscriptions as well.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The job market exposure is limited. The university is known for excellent research, though, but it does not help that much to secure a job. But it can surely help the students who want to go into the research and development or academic path. The city is smaller than Manchester or Birmingham and has a reputation for tourism rather than industrial presence, which makes it difficult to get opportunities. But, in general, the whole UK job market is not in favour of immigrants. So, it's not just the university. Very few companies offer jobs to international students and even fewer offer sponsorship. Graduate roles are very hard to secure. It makes sense and a bit easier if one has work experience. Job roles offered: data analyst, software developer, consultant, process specialist. Salary packages range from GBP 25k to 35k.

A historical institution to build a better future for all people from all walks of life.
Tips: The transition to a new country is never simple but there is a lot of support for anyone that's looking for it. Before moving to York, it would be good to get in contact with coursemates and students you will be living with. In addition, spend time looking into societies you want to get involved in as early on in the year there will be plenty of taste sessions to go and participate in which will aid in socializing in a new environment. The university also has a buddy programme that would put you in touch with someone at the university who may have gone through the experience previously and guide you through an easy transition experience. Looking for part-time jobs is fairly easy as well, the university has its own platform, Handshake to look for opportunities. Indeed is a great widely used option as well.
Likes (Safety): Campus security maintains a very active presence on campus with routine patrols to ensure safety and is very helpful in medical emergencies as well. Other than campus security, York is generally a very safe city. It consistently ranks in the top 5 of the safest areas within the UK for student areas which means stepping out late at night can be stress-free for everyone.
Dislikes (Public transportation): York has a well established bus network that allows you to travel around the city comfortably with options to track bus timings. We also have an app as well. The train station in the city centre has great connectivity with direct trains to London taking about 2 hours.

University of York is all thing from study to support
Tips: The University of York is a research based Russell group university. University is located in York, a welcoming and peaceful city, with historical architecture. Apart from the city, campus itself is beautiful and has a lot of study space for individual as well as group study. Also, the university offers student assistance right from the application process to the move to York. Staff is accommodating and helps students to their best knowledge. University provides guidance to improve skills for academics and professional prospects as well as in managing living expenses. I received Chevening Scholarship funded by UK FCDO, in which 20% of the scholarship is funded by the university.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty at the University of York can be contacted via email or in-person. They are friendly and understand the demands of the diverse student community. Instead of traditional methods of providing classroom lectures, university employs a novel approach, they are a mix of lectures, seminars, practical, and also drop-in sessions for questions.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The University of York provides a free campus shuttle bus to students and faculty. Campus shuttle connects all of the major bus stop from West to east campus. Aside from the free campus shuttle, various paid public transmit options are available. The campus is well-connected to the main city, York City Centre is in 10 minutes walking distance from campus West.

My Experience with University of York
Tips: One of the most important changes that I have experienced is the change in the weather. The winters in York can get really cold so please be prepared to buy good quality winter wear that will last. The University has done a lot to make the transition smoother. There are a number of fresher week activities including college lunches and coffee meets where students can meet other international students as well as home students. There is also a lot of mental health support available at the university which are easily available to all. There is a visa office that helps with any queries regarding your visa or stay. The curriculum is different from what it is in India and there is a dedicated academic skills hub for helping students ease into the university curriculum. York itself is a beautiful city, especially for history buffs like myself. The university campus is serene and green and there is plenty of study space. Overall I am satisfied with the University campus and its curriculum.
Likes (Part time work): There are a number of on campus part time work available like International ambassadors, academic representatives etc. In addition, there are a number of shops and cafes like Nisa and Greggs within the campus which can offer possible employability. York is a relatively small and historic city with enough part-time jobs available. Update the resume and use indeed and LinkedIn to do the applications. The minimum wage is 10 pounds and since there is a 20-hour work limit per week, it is possible to effectively manage academics and work.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are a number of Indian restaurants in the City Centre but they are a bit expensive. The groceries however are pretty affordable. It's highly recommended to cook for yourself during the initial months until you're settled in. Indian groceries are available in shops like Morrisons and Makkah which are about 30 minutes away from the University.

The University of York is an excellent university in each aspect.
Tips: York is a good university but primarily depends on your course. However, the Computer Science department is very good. I didn't get any scholarship, but a couple of people whom I know got it, which means yes, scholarships are being offered in my course. When I joined, the fee was 24000 Rs. But now it's around 27K. Moreover, the campus is really good it's like having your own city. I lived in Annelister College, and the accommodation was around 8k when I joined. It was a well-balanced shift in a good way.

Check for scholarships before you start your course.
Tips: Scholarship details should be checked before coming because a lot of people tend to miss the scholarship and end up paying a lot more. Part time needs to be applied really quickly because the number of students completing for part time is a lot which can leave you jobless while studying.
Likes (Safety): It feels safe to walk around the city at any time of the day and night. Everyone respects one another. I have walked all around the city on a cold winter night while never facing issues from anyone. Did not even see anyone else have any safety issues.

The University of York is a beautiful experience.
Tips: I received the Be Exceptional scholarship of 37500. I would advise you to apply for the scholarships well in advance. Overall I'm very satisfied with the course, university, and country. I would also suggest being a part of social clubs and societies as they always have something going on.
Likes (Post study jobs): A plethora of events are organized by the university including bar crawls, social, game nights, karaoke, etc. I absolutely love socializing with people and I never miss an opportunity to take part in social events. Additionally, the campus is also very beautiful.
Dislikes (Value for money): I believe the faculty at the University of York is top-notch. They are extremely friendly, approachable, and supportive and have always helped me throughout the course. Being a part of the Biology department I spend most of my time in the labs. The labs are exceptional with all the facilities.

Stepping out of your comfort zone and living the world that lies beyond your constricted boundaries
Tips: The cultural shift is very evident and yet it is not overwhelming or unmanageable. Staying true to yourself and being open-minded and accepting takes you a long way. There are University competitive scholarships available. However, I was unsuccessful in attaining one. I am very happy with the choice of the University I made. It has far exceeded my expectations in every manner.
Likes (Value for money): The study curriculum is designed very thoughtfully and imparted very practically. The professors are very friendly and easily approachable. You can not only discuss with them the academic difficulties that you might be facing but also any personal challenges that you will encounter. They are always more than happy to be of assistance.
Dislikes (Internships): Finding an internship is your own task and it is very difficult to manage an internship and your studies. The internship almost always requires more working hours than you are allowed. The professors and the academic supervisors don’t even suggest a part-time job as it is considered very time consuming.

One of the safest and best university in UK
Tips: Look and research thoroughly about your course and also about the city. If you are more interested in party rich and more lively city life then this is not the city as there is not much of a young population. Also one should look into the availability of cheap options for rent.
Likes (Safety): York as a city is one of the safest city in UK. Also this particular university has very low or no racism and has a good amount of cultural diversity between students. Also as there is not much young crowd in York so there is not much crime happening in the city.
Dislikes (Internships): Less internship options are available for my field of study. Also as York is not a big city so there are obviously fewer options available but the university should focus more on providing internship opportunities and should organise more workshops and awareness events.

Fun loving University with many interesting activities to explore.
Tips: There were few cultural socks at the start of my college but later on got used to it. I did not get any scholarship as when I applied the deadline was already passed. I feel okay about my university experience but there is always room for improvement in terms of course modules and other facilities such as labs.

Good university, life is awesome and studies are a bit hard
Tips: I would ask students to just join the university and then it would be easy once you are here. However, think about the course that best suits you or else it would be a waste. Life is good here, you would be having a lot of fun parties, night outs and get together etc. Assignments are the main area of focus as it would be new to some and adapting would be difficult so a proper understanding of what you are doing will help. Always there will be support from the teachers so there is no issue just don't hesitate.

My 3 years in York studying Psychology at the University of York were the best!
Tips: I got an EU bursary (that was before the UK exited the EU) to help with my accommodation costs. The transition to a new university in a new country was very easy personally, I made friends and the academic environment was really welcoming to everyone. I was really satisfied overall.
Likes (Indian Food): There were many restaurants from all around the world, namely American, British, French Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Turkish, Italian, Spanish, Middle Eastern, Greek and more in such a small city. Pricing varied from affordable everyday food to very expensive quality restaurants, so there is something for everyone! I personally prefer cooking myself, but whenever I ate out I was never disappointed.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The campus is on the outskirts of the city centre, meaning a 45' walk or 30' bus ride or 10' taxi ride. During my time in university, the buses on which all students relied for their daily transport across campuses and the city centre were beyond disappointing. They were constantly full, late, some times did not stop to pick up passengers even if there were available seats on the bus. We raised concerns about all of it but not much changed during my time there. I hope things have improved as I had to spend a lot of money on Ubers, since there is no other way of travelling around quickly and efficiently.

Excellent University for studies and fun.
Tips: Students should know the subject modules of their courses. Because some of the courses have the least number of subject modules which will have an impact on in depth understanding of the main course. It's better to take on-campus accommodation to minimize the transportation cost as travelling inside the campus is free.
Likes (Student Life): Student life in York would be friendly. There will not be any discrimination. There are many sports activities, dance programs, societies, party events and so on. All facilities are available on campus. Students can enjoy and do their studies peacefully.
Dislikes (Value for money): This course offers a limited number of modules as compared to the other courses in the university. Though the extracurricular activities are many, the course modules are not enough for high tuition fees and it got increased for Sept 2023 intake.

Best place to pursue your research work.
Tips: If you are fortunate enough to have a government sponsorship, then York is a great place to study. However, scholarships are hard to come by if you don't have that kind of support. Also, although York itself has few job opportunities, three major cities are nearby, so you might be able to find something. The cost of living in York is relatively high, but housing and transportation are affordable.
