MS in Biology - Batch of 2031
3.9
A mixed journey so far.
Tips: I think College Station is a friendly town, but the temperature widely varies. Mostly it is very hot throughout the year and when it is winter it might be extremely cold for a week or so. The spring season brings in allergies, so you might want to be up to date with flu and allergy shots. Ph.D. students get a TAship, which covers the duration of our course. I would say I am pretty satisfied with my course.
Likes (Internships): It is comparatively easier to get internships given that the alumni network at the university is pretty strong, There are also webinars to help students navigate the journey. In addition, seniors are also helpful in guiding you to apply for certain internships which might be good for international students.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There aren't many outlets that have Indian food available except a few like Taz, Tikka House etc. I would prefer eating at home since it save a lot of cost, and also helps me stay healthy amidst the hustle of college life. On weekends I would probably order something from outside.

A great university with lot of student support.
Tips: I have been studying in other countries before coming to the US. The cultural shift is huge however the university does do orientation to help you settle in better. I was fully funded which means my tuition fee is waived and I get a stipend based on research assistantship or teaching assistantship. The university is great so is the coursework and quality of research.
Likes (Safety): There are a lot of measures taken to ensure safety on the campus. There are also corps of cadets safety escorts who can help you navigate from one place to another if you feel unsafe. In addition, during the orientation days, one usually gets taught about a lot of safety measures.
Dislikes (Public transportation): There are two mainly used bus services apart from which you wouldn't find public transportation as rampant as in other cities. However, services like Uber, Hitch and Lyft are available but can be costly for students. The bus to campus and allotted spots are free for students.

Could be a good option with funding
Tips: Try contacting professors directly for part-time work as assistants, T. A or GA. culture-wise, especially in CS department you will find many more Indians as is to be expected, you won't unnecessarily feel out of place. University and other student bodies like IGSA, organise many socializing events to transition international students.

Master of Science in Computer Engineering (STEM) - Batch of 2025
4.1
Great college, good opportunities in research labs and brilliant professors.
Tips: Apply for positions like Grade and assistantship, etc. ASAP as they fill up fast. Scholarships are usually given by the department for the first semester and subsequent scholarships are on an application basis. Extremely satisfied with the coursework and university.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Extremely approachable faculty, each faculty will have their own course structure. Need to research the faculty and subject before taking a course and unfortunately there is no forum for that, most of it will be done by interacting with students.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Taz restaurant is the only Indian restaurant around. Mostly cooking at home is preferred. Plenty of restaurant chains around and on the campus. The college is in a small town so finding ethnic food is tough. Few Arabic restaurants fill the void but mostly serve non-veg.

One of the best colleges in the United States
Tips: The college is a great place to be. The tuition and other college expenses are more than expected. I wouldn’t consider this an affordable university. I realized this after joining the college. Thesis students get in state scholarship offered by department.
Likes (Student Life): Students have full freedom while on campus which makes students comfortable trying out various things. The Recreational Center here is a major point because of the size and the number of activities that are allowed at the Center. There is huge number of on-campus events with lots of gifts and food.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are Indian food markets available but they are quite far and require personal transport to travel which is difficult. There is a place called HEB which has most of the vegetables and general food. If you are looking for Indian food and vegetables then minimart and spice market are the options.

My experience regarding college was good, I am happy.
Tips: The opportunities offered and the curriculum is well structured.
Research opportunities provided by faculty are too good.
The lab equipment is highly developed and new.
Scope for students to conduct research is good which highly encouraged me to recommend Texas A& M University.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Number of options of my origin country food is less.
I need to cover far distances to get Indian food.
Bus routes are not in that way so I need to book a cab and go to that store.
As a student, it becomes difficult for one to bare those expenses. So my rating is 4

Good university with affordable cost and living.
Tips: There are many Indian students. So didn't experience much cultural shift. I was offered a scholarship from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering with a waiver of out of state tuition fees. The university is good with many on campus part time opportunities. My course is interesting and the faculty here teaches well. I liked this city as it is peaceful to live in.

Not satisfied for MS in computer science course.
Tips: I did not receive any scholarships. Additionally I am not satisfied with the place where the University is located as we do not have any companies. Hence, no opportunities for internships and fewer opportunities for part-time jobs. To be honest, for the course MS in computer Science this is not at all a good place to study.

Good value for money if you get a scholarship. I find more fascinating activities related to sports.
Tips: You get to experience American culture here when you roam around college and get involved in college activities. Most of the students will get scholarships in their first year of college and will be offered for the second year too if you maintain a good GPA.
Likes (Value for money): If you get a scholarship in this university then the tuition fee would be very affordable. And the chances of getting scholarships are high at this university. Faculty are also good from ECE department perspective.
Dislikes (Part time work): As there are too many international students its difficult to find a part time job inside the campus. On-campus part-time shifts are scheduled as per our academic schedule so it won't affect any of the classes. The average pay would be $10 per hour on-campus.

Big in area, best in culture and bold in teachings.
Tips: This college is good for hard working and persistent students. It has the best professors you can expect. It has the biggest campus in the whole Texas. You have to start searching for on-campus jobs as soon as you come to campus. If you want to do any of that you have to go to managers and talk to them. Please come financially prepared it's so important.
Likes (Safety): People are friendly here, you can make many friends here once you get out of your comfort zone and talk to them. You have to invest in making new friends here. It could be beneficial for us being students. Also, you'll have fun with them. Try hanging with locals here.
Dislikes (Public transportation): There is limited public transportation and only on weekdays. But uber is available 24/7. Public transport here called Citibus runs on weekdays but not on weekends. But you would be surprised that lubbock texas is so flat you can ride your bicycle anywhere.

This university is great and beneficial
Tips: You should have knowledge of at least one programming language as that is helpful. Also being friendly matters a lot here because having contacts is really important. Having all the documents ready will also save you time.
Likes (Indian Food): I think student life here is really great because when I see it from studies perspective, I think I have great benefits here. And also speaking about the place Lubbock, it’s really budget friendly place and alone a student can manage his bills. Apart from that, the student life in Texas tech university is exciting because we do have many sports games conducted in college.
Dislikes (Safety): All the professors are Ph.D. holders with great knowledge, they are friendly and helpful. They hold their students to high expectations and help students reach their goals and grades. They contribute one hundred percent to learning in the class which is highly valuable.
