Academic pressure but good people.
Tips: Be prepared to spend the first couple of semesters just grinding and sacrificing your weekends as the academic pressure here is very real and difficult.Great professors and class fellow has made my journey a little calmer. The city offers a lot for the student population and there is a strong Indian community as well.

Good for career growth.
Tips: The leadership here is strong and the programme seems promising which is a big reason that many international students come here. The weather can get could and some of the places can shut down earlier than expected. Lots of background reading is the norm here and networking sessions and academic fair keep happening on a regular basis.

Tips: I was very excited to come here as I had heard good things and I feel it has lived up to my expectations. Berlin is a student friendly and very happening city but academics are taken equally seriously here. Work experience adds value both to your admission as well as for job hunting and knowing some German will make it easier to break communication barriers. Dedicated professors who are happy to help out whenever needed.

It is good and optimistic with a lot of room for exploration.
Tips: The lifestyle becomes self dependent and more active than that in India. There is more freedom and flexibility regarding classes, credit, examinations, and time management. I did not avail any scholarships but there are a few scholarships that might be applicable to Indian students. I am happy with my university, course and country.
Likes (Post study jobs): Companies all around Germany usually hire from TUs and covering study visas to job visas is a simple process. Job roles and salary packages usually depend on the previous work experience and specialisation of the individual. The course offers technical subjects as well as management subjects.
Dislikes (Part time work): On-campus part-time jobs are available but not too many. Part time jobs are harder to find since many require German language proficiency. Part-time is easily manageable with studies, depending upon how many credits you take each semester. And the payout is good enough to manage rent and expenses.

Easy going masters journey at TU Berlin.
Tips: Learn German as it goes a long way, and try to use the facilities provided by the university to integrate with the lifestyle. There are different workshops and a career fair organised by the university to get to know about companies, and a chance for networking. For landing a working student job, the estimated duration can be around 6-7 months based on your past work experience and German skills. Even though tuition fees are a bit high, this course is worth it and provides many opportunities.

The university is great, and the course is very practical.
Tips: Language skills are a significant advantage. Scholarship opportunities are available. The university is great, and the course is very practical. Plus, it's Germany, it's obviously a fantastic place to study. Housing can be a challenge, but finding a good place makes all the difference. Also, be prepared for the German winters.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport is included in the fees, and with this ticket, I can travel around Germany. It's safe and always running. You can use public transport to go anywhere and save money on tickets. The ticket is easy to use, and it's the best public transportation in Europe.
Dislikes (Value for money): For the value of money, the network you build is the best asset. The people and industry experience are good, the companies are great, most of the faculty come from industry and have a good academic background, the labs are amazing, and the projects will teach you a lot.

The GPE course is not recommended. Consider other courses at the same or a different university.
Tips: Learn as much Deutsch as possible before coming here. Be wary of scams when initially searching for accommodation. There are a few scholarship opportunities such as FEMTEC for women. While I'm satisfied with the post study work options I'm not happy with the course content; it could be more detailed and less stressful especially for a Master's student.
Likes (Safety): Students generally stay in Studenten Wohnheims (STW) after 2 semesters where it is generally safe to stay. Few experiences include racism against Indians especially when you appear shabby sell bad and do not speak German. Learn at least the B1 level before coming here.
Dislikes (Value for money): As a former GPE student I cannot recommend applying here. The 15,000 euros tuition fee is too high considering the limited classes and poor lecture quality which does not meet industry standards. With the current EUR to INR exchange rate, it's approximately 15 Lacs for substandard content. I would recommend exploring other free courses instead.

Best place for engineering and technology.
Tips: Learning German, exploring scholarships through university portals and student associations is recommended. This is a great university for applicants looking to build their careers. Students can find working student and student assistant positions both within the university and at other companies.
Likes (Safety): No one disturbs others. There are many safety measures and facilities available. Everyone is helpful in any situation. There are security personnel in all areas. Each floor has a reception desk, where you can check in if any problems occur. I haven't had any negative experiences.
Dislikes (Part time work): For parttime work German language is required in most cases. You can find jobs in restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, warehouses, etc. These typically offer fair pay averaging a minimum of 12-13 euros. However tech jobs can pay over 15 euros.

Tips: Before joining this college, students should I know that it offers a disciplined academic environment where consistency and self initiative matter a lot. The curriculum is structured, but students are expected to manage their time well and stay regular with assignments and classes. Campus life is comfortable and student-oriented, but those who actively participate in activities, club and peer interactions tend to gain much more from the experience. Being open to learning beyond academics really helps.

Have a clear understanding about the course and post course options.
Tips: There is a fee for some courses here. Not all German universities are free. Language is very important as it plays a pivotal role in integrating with the culture and surviving here. The course curriculum was very well-structured, and the instructors were very knowledgeable. I also liked the diversity of the student body. Students came from all over the world. It is very important to be knowledgeable about these facts before you come here.
Dislikes (Value for money): The staff at the university are very experienced and know exactly what they are doing. They are always reachable and respond quickly within hours. The curriculum is perfectly designed and the teachers come from different parts of the world.

The course is interesting but not easy to complete in 4-semesters and requires more effort.
Tips: The PSE course is not easy, and students have to put in a lot of effort and time to complete the course. There are a few who couldn't complete the course in 4 years, too. But the course is very structured and up to date, with very interesting subjects to study and further work. The department is quite demanding, and the number of courses per semester is high, which is why students take more than 4 semesters to complete. So, you need to be prepared to do the hard work accordingly. I haven't applied to any scholarships, but students joining here can apply for the DAAD scholarship and the Deutschland stipendium for BCI students. I am satisfied with the course structure as it is interesting to me. I recommend that applicants go through the course structure and the department's modules handbook before joining. Along with these, it is important as a process engineer to learn German, which is not easy. So, I recommend to start leraning German before coming here.
Likes (Public transportation): Dortmund is well-connected by public transport. It is very convenient to travel to the university or any other place. The local transport is free, it is included in the semester fee that students pay every semester. The Deutschland ticket is included in the Semesterbeitrag.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are very limited off-campus part-time job opportunities for students who are fluent in German. On-campus jobs are also scarce and are usually available only if there is a vacancy in a lab or if a student has good grades. Some students are unable to find any part-time work at all. Managing a part-time job alongside this course is challenging, and students who plan to work while also learning German typically take more than four semesters to complete the programme. Average pay varies depending on the workplace and the number of hours worked, but the minimum wage is 13.9/hour with a maximum of 20 working hours per week.

Fun student life; lots of sports and clubs.
Tips: I could do lots of sports which also helped me find many local friends. I learn from them not only their language but also their culture and how they have friendships. I feel good that Dortmund is a city that has many opportunities for everything.
Likes (Value for money): There are lots of Indian restaurants and other cuisines available but I prefer cooking for myself to manage my expenses. The University Canteen offers cheap food so whenever I can't cook, I eat at the University. If we miss some good foods from our home but can't prepare them on our own, we can eat at the restaurants. They aren't so expensive but frequent eating will be expensive.
Dislikes (Student Life): I usually attend the lectures and do sports in the evening at university. I especially love the many sports activities available. There are variety of events especially representing unity in diversity. I usually enjoy the International Cultural Fest where we represent each country's traditional food and culture.

Studying in Germany can be a bit difficult but the tuition fee is zero.
Tips: You should know that getting into college is a bit difficult, and even after getting in, the exams and everything, especially in Germany. I think if you work hard here and you come with that mindset you will do well.
Likes (Value for money): I think the tuition fee in Germany is zero and it is really good here because you get to learn a lot of quality stuff, but of course, to balance it out, the course will be very difficult. The value for money is going to be very good, but you have to be hard working.
Dislikes (Part time work): I think it is fairly easy to get part time work, especially for working in hot fields like artificial intelligence and you might be able to if you are decently hardworking and the pay is also fine. Especially in hot fields like software, you have an option.

Multi activity university with referrals.
Tips: The Technical University of Dortmund has many study plans that are difficult to navigate. The school does have the option to study abroad, and students can work with an academic advisor to help them navigate the selection of classes. Language is also a big part of the experience, and it's important to consider how your language skills will help you study. The study pattern is completely different from our country. Referral and planned plans can help you explore better. Balancing life and studies is the most difficult part.
Likes (Part time work): There are multiple part-time jobs but they are engrossing and tiring. Diverting focus from studies to earning money during study time. Part-time jobs are difficult to find during the intake time as all people are applying at the same time. Also, it might be that you need to travel for part-time jobs a lot.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are no campus placement options. You need to struggle yourself to find a job. Also finding English-speaking jobs is more difficult. Even if the course is in English companies are not that friendly to allow you to work with it. German is a must to have a career in Germany.

Challenging yet interesting international experience.
Tips: Learning German until the B1 level is compulsory. The weather during winter can be extremely difficult. The courses in the university are very intensive, and mostly oriented for Ph.D. aspirants. I didn't have any scholarship, hence I did a couple of technical as well as non-technical part-time jobs to support my finances. The university provides free education and only charges a small administrative fee for university degrees. The quality of education is excellent, and you can learn a lot from the co-curricular activities and develop many soft skills, such as representation skills and scientific paper presentations. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the course and the university.
Dislikes (Safety): There are Neo-Nazi Demonstrations sometime during the years, and a lot going on in the city that is difficult for international students to be aware of. Some areas in Dortmund Dorstfeld are not considered to be safe to visit during quiet hours. As an international student, you have to always carry your ID and stay alert if you find someone suspicious while travelling.

An overall good experience but a tough curriculum.
Tips: Germany overall is a nice experience, but knowing German is a must. Even if the course is in English many of the locals won't communicate in English (government officials as well). This is not the case in big international cities like Munich or Berlin but for Dortmund, you need to know some basic German. As far as this course is concerned i.e. Masters in data Science, one should be prepared to face a curriculum which is more into Statistics. If you already have a knowledge of stats, this course won't be that difficult (especially mandatory stats subjects) but for the rest, it's hard.
