Master of Science in Quantitative Finance - Batch of 2028
3.7
I tried being objective, judge wisely.
Tips: There's no one right answer to whether a university is good or bad. Select the university based on the course you want to do and the modules they offer. If you decide to join the QF course, like me, be aware it's a pure applied mathematics course, not a practical finance course. So have a good math background, or be prepared to put in extra hours.
Likes (Safety): It's a rather small city, circled around 2 universities. Safety is not a concern at all. Avoid the area called 'Garden,' if you can. Walking around the city near the university is fun, given the weather is nice. People generally tend to mind their own business, so do not expect them to be too friendly, but they're not harmful, at least in my experience.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There's not a lot of Indian restaurants. As such, trusting the Indian food outside to be good enough is not a good choice. They are modified to fit the German taste pallette. There are other good options across cuisines, but I would suggest, try eating at home.

So far the experience is really nice.
Tips: Faculty members are excellent. Labs are well-equipped. Plenty of courses are available. So choose wisely and independently. Be well prepared. Study beforehand if required; do not wait before exams. Also note, this university is a 'universitas' from which you can do jobs or go for research. Not like a university of applied sciences. So, before applying, do your own research and align with your interests.

Safe, Friendly and Fun Part of Northern Germany :)
Tips: I have transitioned quite easily after coming here. It has been a very good experience up till now. The education system is a bit different, and the university is very research-oriented. Self-study is very important. I did not apply for any scholarships yet, but there are a few good options. I am highly satisfied with my university.
Likes (Safety): The city of Kiel is very safe and liberal. I have never faced racism here and the people here are friendly and kind. The students are safe and can get help from various facilities like psychological counseling at the university of Kiel. I have had many good experiences with a lot of NGOs and student groups.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The state of Schleswig-Holstein is not so popular for IT jobs. It's more agricultural land. Although the startup culture is improving in cities like Kiel and Lübeck. It's still not enough. There are very few companies that would offer visa-sponsored jobs in Kiel. The job roles would mostly be remote, and the starting salary would be around 50,000 euros per annum for entry-level IT roles.

Master in Finance - Batch of 2027
Offered by Munich Business School
4.3
Highly academic oriented and multi cultural.
Tips: There are many Indians, and the other national people are friendly as well. Scholarships are available, but I did not avail myself of any. I can give 7.5 out of 10 for the university and course. And 8 for the country. The weather can get crazy sometimes, and it will take time to adjust.
Likes (Public transportation): Getting around Munich is insanely easy since the trains, trams and buses run pretty much everywhere all the time. The only real issue is that the tickets are getting pretty pricey. The campus itself is super close to the city center, so the overall connectivity is solid. Just don't expect a ton of food options or cheap places to eat right around the college—the selection nearby is honestly pretty weak.
Dislikes (Internships): The university gives good guidance on internships. However, there is too much demand and also the language barrier; the skills alone are not enough. There are a good number of job openings, but also there is too much demand for each role. Knowing German definitely helps.

Strong Finance Program and Positive experience at Munich Business School.
Tips: If you're coming straight from a job like I did, just know that adjusting back to university life is going to take a minute. Flipping that switch from working a full-time routine back to sitting in classes was a total reality check at first, and it took me a while to get used to the pace. The whole learning style here is definitely a bit of a culture shock but it’s completely manageable once you find your rhythm. I actually lucked out and got a scholarship too mostly just from applying super early with decent grades—so definitely check the uni portals for that kind of stuff. But yeah, even with the initial hiccups the course turned out great and living here has been a wild ride.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Professors here are super chill and honestly really easy to talk to. Zero reason to hesitate if you need to pop into their office or ask a quick question. Plus, the teaching style is pretty hands-on—none of that just reading off boring slides crap. They just break down the complicated stuff using everyday examples and random discussions. Honestly makes everything way easier to digest.
Dislikes (Internships): Landing a job is honestly a massive headache if you don’t speak the language, since pretty much every local company expects you to know German. But if you actually put in the work to learn it and build a solid resume, things get way easier. The uni does have a career support team and some job portals to point you in the right direction, but at the end of the day, you still have to do all the heavy lifting yourself.

MBA General Management - Batch of 2025

Munich Business School is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn from industry expects.
Tips: Before joining this college, check the curriculum and faculty, and get in touch with students who are already taking this course. I would also recommend checking with the university to get details about your classmates so you can better align yourself and learn from the best environment. Public transportation in Germany is very feasible and convenient. You can get transportation from anywhere within a 10-15 minute walk. Transportation such as trams, buses, S-bahn, and U-bahn are very easily available. And the best part is that you can use all these transportation options with a single ticket, the Deutschland Ticket.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The job market is a bit tricky these days and companies in Germany are playing off people as well. But it depends on a lot of other aspects such as your course language skills and past experience. Networking opportunities could be easily available if you are open and willing to go to events and like to meet new people.

University that transform students to be globally minded, innovative and responsible.
Tips: Very expensive but if you learn and make use of the opportunities then it's the best value for money. Moreover, the professors are directly from the corporate world and you learn real-time lessons about what is useful in the professional world. The business project was very useful for me at the beginning.
Likes (Safety): No racism. No gun culture like in the USA. Even at mid-nights there‘s public transportation and anyone can freely roam anywhere across Germany. Most Germans are friendly and supportive. Personally never had any concern regarding safety in last 3 years.
Dislikes (Part time work): You need to know German language for working outside. But there are plenty of English-speaking companies offering working students internship roles, you need to work a bit on your profile and skills for getting those. Due to the hourly limit strictly being followed, you cannot earn more.

Good decision to come here if you have high expectations.
Tips: You should know that only some courses have option of internship in Semester 3 so look for those. Other courses have compulsory programmes. Studies are not so great but they are good to integrate professionally into the market. It is a multicultural university. Great array of course choices available.
Likes (Public transportation): Munich has excellent transportation system with buses, trams, bahns and regional trains. Very easy to move around and walk. Will not miss having my own vehicle. May be a good decision to get a cycle. Google maps are very good and handy. All timings and route options are accurate.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The professors are not so great and the studies were average. There is an option to get a German degree and legally find a job. German students tend to stick together so difficult to get into their groups. Simple exams, nothing compared to the toughness of Indian education system.
