Master of Education in Educational Administration and Leadership - Batch of 2026
4.3
A big university in a small town with modern facilities.
Tips: The university is truly awesome, you don't have to worry about that. If you are looking for a calm but fun town to spend your 5 years of the Ph.D, then you are looking at the right place. It's very fresh in here. If you are expecting US city life, then you probably need to go to Chicago, which is around 3 hours away from here. There are many on-campus jobs available and even plenty of off-campus jobs as well. If you are a graduate student, it's even better because you can work with professors on their research projects. The hourly pay is also not bad as the expenses in this town are very low. Overall, I am very satisfied with the environment, people, university culture, eating out options, etc.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): In general, there are fewer immigration options in the US. Provided the current scenario, the opportunities are getting even fewer. If I get a chance to permanently immigrate to the US, I would definitely not think twice about it. But the chances are better if you are from a STEM field or Academia.

Professional Master of Computer Science (MCS) - Batch of 2020
4.5
One of the best CS grad schools where I was able to make net positive money during my Masters!
Tips: Do not let cold weather be a reason for not joining UIUC, you get used to it. Apart from the thesis, there is no difference between MS and MS programme and both are considered the same for job applications but the thesis programme helps you improve your profile by getting to work with a professor on a research project. Computer Science programme has decent TA/RA opportunities and if you get one, you get 100% fee waiver and $2500 monthly stipend which is well above the monthly expenses. Post covid, intake to the professional MS programme has significantly increased from ~60 to ~300 resulting in a lot more competition to get a TA/RA.
Likes (Quality of faculty): UIUC has some of the best faculty in Computer Science, many times professors teach content that has been published in books by themselves. UIUC has many diverse professors, a very wide choice of course selection and a lot of flexibility in choosing courses.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Since Urban-Champaign is a college town, there are not that many Indian restaurants and for people who eat Jain food, there are hardly any food options outside. But there are many events in the department buildings where you can occasionally get free Pizzas.

Best campustown in USA which gives you most bang for your buck compared to anywhere in states
Tips: Very accommodating culture. It will be the best experience of your life. Teachers are very knowledgeable. MS programme can be tailored to your liking where you can take courses from any department without much restrictions. This happened to be the best experience of my life.
Likes (Safety): Campustown is organized in a manner where all the students converge to Green Street where we have everything needed creating an awesome environment to meet new people and have fun. Cricket lovers can join Cricket Club of Illinois for a rewarding cricket experience and tons of tournaments in summer.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Faculty is very approachable and compassionate. After first semester most Masters student can find a RA or TA position. Try to meet with the faculty and show what drives you to do research and teaching and you will get a way around. The faculty is well-educated and mostly from universities ranked above UIUC.

My Review on doing a Masters in UIUC
Tips: Since the university is in Illinois, the weather during the winters is brutal, which most Indians will find difficult to adapt to. Hence I advise you to buy proper winter clothes when winter approaches. The grocery stores on or near campus are also expensive, so you need to learn how to buy food in bulk without wasting anything. UIUC has a large diaspora of not only Indians but other nationalities as well, so socializing is necessary but not tedious. Despite this, feelings of loneliness can set in since everyone will be busy studying for their courses, which one should be prepared for.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus has a functional transportation service which is free for students of UIUC, with plenty of buses there to reach most parts of Champaign-Urban. Despite buses taking more time to reach the destination you wish to go to, the part that is already included in your tuition fees is convenient since one pays $60 as public transportation fees.
Dislikes (Value for money): Since I did my Masters in Aerospace Engineering, finding internships for myself was tedious due to ITAR. And unlike Indian institutes, we have to find internships by ourselves because most companies that come to the career fair look for US citizens only, though I would advise going to the career fair anyway to network.

You will be required to work hard.
Tips: UIUC is a work hard-play hard type of university. If you're into that, then definitely do apply! Also keep in mind that UIUC does not give out many scholarships to international students. The research opportunities are great here, along with more than 1000+ clubs and organizations.
Likes (Public transportation): The bus transportation system is one of the best in the country. The bus system is free for all students, and the bus network extends beyond the campus, to the surrounding Champaign-Urbana area. There are a number of buses, which means there's never a shortage or long waiting time on them. Buses are also more so generally they are quite on time.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There aren't many authentic versions of Indian dishes in the dining halls. Although, you could get Indian food in restaurants outside the campus. Some days, in particular dining halls such as ISR, Indian food is provided in the form of samosas or paneer, however I wouldn't rely on the authenticity.

Vibrant campus and city.
Tips: Classes won't be every day, so there are breathing periods throughout. To score high you need to reason properly rather than copy pasting an argument you can't back. I'm satisfied with my course as there was lot of psychological issues it addressed, the back and forth we had with our tutors was amazing.
Likes (Part time work): Nobody looks down on you for working part time jobs, it's quite common. They are quite manageable u get to choose the amount of hours u want to put in. The average payout is 12.60 pounds per hour. You can always gain retail experience as they have a lot of openings during Christmas.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The changes of permanent residence are low as per the changing laws now, a person can get PR if he/she stays and work in the UK for 10 years excluding the study period. The right wing likes to throw immigrants under the bus for every other issue that they have, so it doesn't matter how hard working or resilient you are; if the laws are against you, you can't really do anything.

Strong academics and faculty, but career is shaped by self-efforts.
Tips: You need to adjust yourself socially and culturally and be more open towards people. The teaching style is more independent and students are expected to take ownership of their learning. Most of this comes from the discipline and habits of an individual. Also, one thing, a friend circle is really important to balance out life as you will grow with them.
Likes (Quality of faculty): You can contact faculty anytime on their contact details (teams), and you get to know if they are offline or away for sometime so you are not changing. The faculty are responsive as well and will give you time for your doubts and guidance. Apart from academics, you can also interact with them casually and they are open to that as well.
Dislikes (Internships): There is a team to help you out with applications and your profile but it's not completely helpful. It's just the basics that they cover and the internship opportunities that exist are limited and highly competitive so the chances to land one are low. You have to try hard each time.

Amazing student life and friendly peers.
Tips: The lecturers are absolutely top notch. Scholarships are available but can be extremely competitive to achieve. Warwick University is an amazing place to grow and learn but getting a sponsored job is something which only the top 1% of students manage to achieve. Good experiences.
Likes (Student Life): Student life at Warwick is amazing. You have the opportunity to meet people from all backgrounds. Work life balance with a lot of support available. Different clubs to take part in from academic and career societies to cultural ones. There is always something happening on campus to keep you engaged.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Fresh grads can expect to earn anywhere from 22,000 to 70,000 depending on the role. Front office finance and corporate law firms pay the most but these roles are really difficult to get. Most students have to return home due to them not being able to secure sponsored roles, which is especially true for master's students. The UK job market is turbulent right now and the number of students looking for sponsored roles is very high.

A place which helps you get out of your comfort zone and makes you strong and independent.
Tips: Being an international student, it’s quite difficult to secure a job here, especially with sponsorship. It can take you months to land one job. So the sooner you try, the better. It also depends on the role you are aiming at. So targeting the right companies go a long way. Compare the course structure with other universities when applying. You might want to consider the place also as Warwick is in Coventry which is a small town in the UK. The university provides great exposure if you use the facilities to their full potential.

Enriching experience with both personal and professional growth.
Tips: Before coming to Warwick, just need to know the basics of cooking and how to do your personal laundry. I learnt a lot of stuff after actually landing here. However, it's a great experience as one gets to learn to be self-independent. I unfortunately did not avail any scholarship as I applied quite late. Overall, I am very satisfied with my course and the country.
Likes (Post study jobs): Since I studied business and marketing, I was keen on applying for jobs in the UK however I started this process while pursuing my Master's. I was fortunate to secure a job right after that at Amazon in Manchester. The University of Warwick does provide ample support when it comes to supporting student jobs.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Since Warwick is quite pricey, learning the basics of cooking is of utmost importance for every student, I feel. The old coffee tavern was my go to. Lots of places have a lot of student discounts so one must carry their student ID. I personally prefer cooking myself since I prefer eating healthy.

Experience at the University of Warwick.
Tips: Self study is very important. Applying for internships since year 1 is essential. Learn how to cook before moving to the UK. Living alone abroad changed my perspective towards life and how I think. As someone who has lived abroad, I highly recommend the experience.
Likes (Public transportation): Buses from the University to Leamington Spa and Coventry are very convenient. Uber is also available to go anywhere. The nearest airport is Birmingham. And trains for London are also available from both Leamington Spa and Coventry. You can get a bus pass made for students for everyday commute.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Warwick is a campus university about 15-20 minutes away from both Leamington Spa and Coventry. On campus food options are very limited and delivery options are expensive. Please learn how to cook before moving to the UK. Grocery stores and Tesco are available on campus.

Been an eventful journey.
Tips: There was a slight culture shock but nothing that took too long to get used to especially once I adapted. People are more particular on boundaries here than a lot of other places and classwork is taken very seriously. Warwick is located in a charming town where the rent is much lower than places like London, which helps in bringing down your cost of living. Strong learning and enriching experience.
Tips: Students should know that Warwick is academically rigorous and offers many opportunities but it is important to plan well for finance, accommodation and cultural diversity. My transition was smooth, though I had to adjust to fast-paced academics and a multicultural environment, which turned out to be very enriching. Part-time jobs are available on and around campus but they can be competitive. Warwick also has strong career services and global networking although the current UK job market for graduates is not very favourable. I did not avail myself of any scholarships.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus is well connected to Coventry city centre and nearby areas through frequent bus services, especially Stagecoach and National Express buses. These buses run regularly even late in the evening and offer student passes that make travel economical. Trains from Coventry station also connect easily to major cities like Birmingham and London, making travel beyond the city very convenient. Public transport around Warwick is well structured, student-friendly and cost-effective.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): My main focus in choosing Warwick was the quality of education and international exposure not settlement opportunities. Immigration chances depend largely on government policies and career pathways so I believe the chances of permanent settlement are limited and uncertain. I may be open to short-term work opportunities in the UK for experience but I do not plan to settle there permanently.

Likes (Indian Food): Coventry offers a wide variety of Indian restaurants for dine-in and takeaways. I often cook my own meals because I am a vegetarian, and also because eating out every day is too expensive for a student; it can cost 20-30 each time.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Due to recent government immigration rule changes, the post-study work visa period has been reduced from 24 months to 18 months. Diverse learning environment and a vibrant community.
Tips: Transitioning to college life is a major phase in any student's life, and studying in a new country comes with its own set of challenges. You need some time to adjust and adapt to the new culture/environment, and after that, the new country/college starts feeling like home with your friends around. Freshers need to understand that they are not alone feeling like, there are thousand of other students away from their home feeling the same way- the best way to cope with initial adjustment phase is to attend as many events as possible, network and socialize this way you will find your own people which will make this phase a lot more easy and fun. There are various scholarship options available at Warwick; information regarding them is mentioned on their website. I am very much satisfied with my university and my course. Studying Economics at Warwick was an amazing experience; the academic rigour, faculty support and diverse student community truly enriched my personal and professional growth.
Likes (Safety): A typical day in college would be like attending classes, working on assignments in the library, running errands like grocery shopping and unwinding with friends and flatmates. The thing I cherished the most in my college life was having fun with my friends on the college campus. Warwick's campus is one of its standout features- set in the countryside, it offers calmness and refreshment- away from the bustling noise of the city, while some might not want this vibe, but I personally loved it. All sorts of events happened on campus, ranging from different types of festival celebrations to career-focused fairs, TED Talks and speaker sessions- every week there is something or the other happening, and you can choose to attend/participate in them. There are around 200+ different types of clubs and societies on campus, focusing on various things, whether to want to join the Indian Society, play badminton, support social causes by volunteering or by joining groups like UNICEF, there is something for everyone at Warwick. You can choose the ones you resonate with the most according to your liking and associate with them.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The faculty is very friendly and supportive; if students have any doubts/problems, they are always willing to offer that extra help. You can reach out to them via email regarding your doubts or even set a time for a one-on-one meeting virtually or in-person; they are genuinely eager to help the students in any way possible. The thing which I found unique in my department was the provisions of pre-recorded video, approximately an hour long for each designed module, that we were meant to watch at our own pace and convenience before the classes, which was basically an overview of the upcoming lecture content. This approach helped us come better prepared to the classes, prompting more active engagement during discussions and group activities. The faculty is very diverse; you can find lecturers/tutors from various parts of the world, each bringing their own unique perspective.

Economics, Politics and International Studies (BSc/BA) - Batch of 2026
Offered by The University of Warwick

Great place to live and learn.
Tips: The academics are rigorous, but the campus life is also very active. I was surprised to see that life here is not as fast-paced as in other cities, such as London or even Manchester, which is also what many students seek. Finally, Warwick is very research-driven driven so you will be required to dig deep and analyse a lot of your projects. I have had a pleasant experience here so far.

MSc Engineering Business Management (EBM) - Batch of 2025
Offered by The University of Warwick
4.1
Highly academic, supportive and career oriented.
Tips: After coming to Warwick University, I noticed a big cultural shift in me and the surrounding people. People are polite and supportive here. However, people tend to be independent from a very early age, which is why they are competitive and strong-willed. Coming here, I started being independent myself, pushing myself beyond my comfort zone, which helped me grow and mature as a person. I got the WMG excellence scholarship, thus reducing my fees by 25%. I really love the university. It is vibrant, welcoming, with an on-campus cafe and a support centre for everything like career, well-being, health, academic, etc.
Likes (Value for money): The tuition fees are around 30,000 pounds. However, you have free access to the library, computer centres, all software, teachers, networking events, career events, and career counselling. Furthermore, Warwick is a top university with a great reputation. There are job fairs and events where employers come to campus, and this is a great way to network. In addition, the university is inclusive, equal to all, safe, and academically effective.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Fast-food restaurants, such as McDonald's, have menus that average 3 to 7 pounds. Other options include Franzos, with an average meal cost of 10 pounds, and Greggs, which averages 2 to 5 pounds. There are several cafes and restaurants where the average cost of a one-time meal is approximately 6 pounds. I would rather cook for myself; however, there is a tiffin centre that can deliver vegetarian or non-vegetarian meals directly to your residence for 7 pounds.

Integrated Science (MSci) - Batch of 2024
Offered by The University of Warwick
3.7
Warwick is an excellent educational hub with lots of growth and learning.
Tips: The first part of the process is to get accepted as Warwick is one of the most competitive programs and the acceptance rate is below 20%. Getting scholarships are even more challenging and I was not eligible for one either. If you are someone who was absolutely no familiarity with the UK or its customs, there are pre enrollment courses and manuals which are pretty helpful. The campus is very student-friendly and welcoming to people from all over the world. The cost of living in general is very expensive. You can work part-time for up to 20 hours a week with your student visa, and there are a few places around campus that encourage student employment. Overall, students get a lot of support here and I am quite satisfied with the university, course and the country.

Very enriching and insightful experience.
Tips: Many things here exceeded my expectations. For instance, Indian food is surprisingly good, especially if you visit a few authentic food vendors and restaurants. Although the cost of living in general is very expensive. If you want to live comfortably, you will need to budget between 850 and 1500 pounds each month. The accommodations are also decent, though some of the more popular ones are hard to reserve. Lastly, as an undergraduate, you are allowed to work part-time. Overall, I have learnt a lot from my experiences and am pretty much satisfied with my course and the country.

Social and Political Thought (MA) - Batch of 2025

Good professors and strong academics.
Tips: I have experienced a lot of change. Among a lot of colleges, Warwick manages to hold its status and reputation. You can work part time for up to 20 hours a week with your student visa, and there are a few places around campus that encourage student employment. The political science and international relations programs are pretty good, though they are underrated compared to the business school. Overall, it’s been a good experience so far, and I am pretty satisfied with my experiences.
