Opportunities for Growth
Tips: After coming here I learned to be independent, as I have to do everything on my own: earn money, study, cook, and look after my health. I received a scholarship for academic excellence, and I received a total of 2,000 euros. I'm pretty satisfied with my university course and the country. I love my course because it has a very good scope. Renewable energy is growing, and therefore you have a higher chance of getting jobs, especially if you speak German. University life is not like the one we have in India; we just go to the university to attend classes and maybe once in a while to attend any events. It's not as lively as Indian universities. I love Germany because you have the freedom to do whatever you want, and you don't have to pay a big tuition fee to study here, but you can still get a good education. We get a lot of opportunities to grow here; it depends on how well we use it and how SMART we are.
Likes (Part time work): I'm specializing in renewable energies, and I actually got a student assistant job in a company that is closely associated with the university, which is situated in the same city. If you are SMART enough, I think you can get a part-time job in companies like mine in the area because it's particularly famous for its renewable energy. There are also other opportunities for part-time work in the university itself, but it depends on the coursework and depends on how SMART you are. Off-campus part-time jobs are not as hard to find as in other big cities in Germany, but if you know German, it's much easier, as you may get easier jobs; if you don't know German, you mostly get work in warehouses and restaurants.
Dislikes (Student Life): The thing I enjoy the most about my college life is I can choose the subjects that I want to study instead of a fixed coursework; there are many options to choose from. For my course, particularly, there is no batch as such, so you SEE different people in different subjects' classes. You have total freedom to choose whether to attend the class or just to attend the exam. Attendance is not mandatory for the majority of the courses. At the end you just have to get all the credit points to finish your master's. There are many events like summer fest, chit chat with coffee, meeting and speaking with local people, and some traditional parties. But it's completely different from college life in India; we have to always choose to attend different events to meet new people, and I feel like the kind of unity and friendships that we have in Indian college life are not something that we can expect here. There are no such student clubs or communities like what we have in India.

BSc in Data Science & Scientific Computing - Batch of 2029
Offered by Munich University of Applied Sciences
4.2
Good and easy going college with occasional challenges.
Tips: Culture is very different; if you come here alone, it will be a very different experience than in India. If you don't have any connections in Germany/Munich, then getting a scholarship is quite hard. But overall the college community is nice; people in Germany are generally good.
Likes (Student Life): College life is good. There might be one day in a week that's stressful, but the rest are easygoing. Different faculty members have different events, but job events are often universal, allowing people to explore different areas and create lots of connections.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Trains and other transport services are often late and sometimes cancelled. The app that should show these delays sometimes does not, leaving you to guess whether the train is coming or not. Prices for a monthly student ticket are high and not worth it, but there isn't any other choice. But the trains themselves are clean, comfortable, and quiet most of the time.
