Master's Degree in Physics - Batch of 2025
3.6
Good faculty and a wonderful campus.
Tips: The Physics faculty is extremely good in research, and the master's curriculum is outstanding for theoretical physics. Regarding the city, the roads are not ideal for bikes, buses are often late, and trains frequently experience delays. However, the food is excellent.

Master of Science in Forest Science - Batch of 2025

A great journey through culture, nature and academia.
Tips: There will be a positive cultural shift as you start studying here at the University of Padova, Italy. You will meet a lot of students from different countries, literally every corner of the world, with different cultural backgrounds. A perfect place to enjoy the intensity of European heritage and academia simultaneously. Even though you might miss Indian food, you will get introduced to Italian food and culture, which is definitely enjoyable. It is one of the oldest universities in Italy, with historic buildings. I also had a regional Veneto scholarship of around 7000 euros per year, for which you have to apply separately without missing; search for scholarships Unipd or regional Veneto scholarship Unipd. I had an adventurous life as a student here. I used to have a lot of field activities in my course, for which I had to visit the beautiful mountains of the Alps. Of course, everything has a little bit of a negative side, too. It's a little bit hard to find part-time jobs here as it's a small student town, but it's not impossible. Language could be a barrier as outside the university everyone speaks Italian also, if you wish to find a job in Italy in the future, but if you are ready to learn Italian, life here could be more interesting and exciting.
Likes (Student Life): The university buildings, libraries, study centres, and student gatherings throughout town create a fantastic academic environment. Aside from the part-time job situation, it's a great place to enjoy student life.
Dislikes (Part time work): Padova is primarily a student city, not a commercial hub, so finding many jobs is difficult. Competition to find a job is also higher. If you learn Italian, the chances of finding part time job are easier. Most part time jobs are within the university, such as tutor buddy or different departments, and outside in restaurants

Independence, culture, and opportunity at Unipd.
Tips: Before I came to the University of Padua, I didn't know it was prestigious, and I wasn't fully prepared for how the education system was. You have to learn a lot on your own, and they don't hold your hand. When I arrived, it was a challenge to navigate the paperwork. I had to deal with the visa, the permesso di soggiorno, and hygiene. The culture was also a bit different. People here are more laid-back, focused on social life. I have been awarded a scholarship, the Padua International Excellence Scholarship. I got it through my early application; it was based on my previous education and a motivation letter. It included a tuition fee waiver and around 8,000 per year. I am very happy with my course and Padova. The city is small enough to have a community, but also full of history and art. The country itself is beautiful, rich in culture and very accessible to students. The language is important; I started learning English first, but I also learned a little Italian for everyday life. If you are willing to learn independently and are open to different cultures, Unipd will be a great place for you.

Master of Science in Chemical and Process Engineering - Batch of 2026
3.0
Affordable and valuable option for Master’s and PhD with intense but rewarding academics.
Tips: Students should research their courses, faculty, and job prospects. Some courses, like Environmental Engineering, Geography, and Economics, are relatively easier, while others, such as Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mathematics, and Physics, are quite challenging. Faculty are quite helpful and cooperative. Overall, I am very satisfied with my chosen course.
Likes (Safety): I rated 5 on safety because Padova is one of the safest and well-developed cities in Italy. The local police maintain strict surveillance, and law enforcement is strong. It's common to walk around the city, even at midnight, without any fear or discomfort. Although occasional cycle thefts happen, which is quite unavoidable in most cities, the general environment remains peaceful and student-friendly. Street lighting is adequate, public transport is reliable, and emergency services respond promptly. Overall, it provides a very safe atmosphere for international students.
Dislikes (Part time work): I rated 1 on part-time work because there are very limited on-campus opportunities available for international students, and they are highly competitive. Off-campus jobs are also difficult to find due to language barriers, legal restrictions, and high local competition. Balancing part-time work with academics is challenging, especially during exam period. Moreover, most part-time roles offer only minimum wage, which is not sufficient to cover living expenses in Italy. The average payout ranges from 5 to 8 euros per hour, and even getting consistent hours per week is uncertain. Overall, it's not a reliable source of income for students.

International students have to work extremely hard to achieve good grades.
Tips: Students need to clear many courses, and this is particularly difficult for international students. Therefore, international students must work extremely hard to achieve good grades. It is also important to follow up with the classes. After a Master's degree, obtaining a Ph.D. in Europe is generally very competitive, so top-notch grades are essential.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are very limited on-campus opportunities for international students, and they are fiercely competitive. Off-campus jobs are difficult to find due to language barriers and high local competition. Besides that, the city is safe, friendly and well-connected.

3.7
Highly theory oriented course structure.
Tips: Try to look for accommodation 5 months before your arrival date. Find someone in your class who did a Bachelor's here or your seniors in order to understand the examination system and plan ahead, because it's difficult to graduate in 2 years. The campus is very student-friendly and vibrant.
Likes (Public transportation): Padova is a well-connected city with trams and buses. Students can get a cheaper monthly subscription, around €25 for urban rides and €40 for suburban rides. The city is building two new tram lines near all university buildings, which will make commuting to and around the university much easier in two years.
Dislikes (Part time work): The Italian language is mandatory for most part-time jobs in Padova. The university posts a few part-time jobs, and you'll be competing with 60,000 students. Many international students work in food delivery, earning around €1 per kilometre. Other jobs, like bar or water tender, pay an average of €7 to €9 per hour.

Master of Science in Food and Health - Batch of 2026
4.2
Value for money, oldest and research oriented university.
Tips: Attendance is compulsory for some courses, making it difficult to work part-time in most cases. Regional scholarships are available for low-income students. I am very satisfied with the quality of education I am receiving, and the scholarship is sufficient for a normal student life.
Likes (Safety): I haven't experienced any harassment or theft within the student community. It's a very safe place for students pursuing their bachelors and masters degrees. There are separate lockers for storming bags, and the buses run until 10 pm and are much safe than other tourist areas.
Dislikes (Part time work): Attendance is compulsory for some studies, so finding part-time work is often difficult. The average wage is around 1 euro per hour; however, wages can increase to 9 euros per hour for roles requiring specific skills, such as English proficiency.

Very good and liberal university.
Tips: It's one of the oldest and most celebrated universities. It's highly competitive but liberal at the same time. You don't need to finish your Bachelor's in 3 years; you can choose to do fewer courses per semester and increase the overall span of your Bachelor's to 4-5 years. You can apply for exchange semesters in various countries. I got in here as a part of the Erasmus Mundus scholarship, which gives an average of 1300-1400 per month. The whole city is perfect for students, there are several study rooms, libraries and a cafe, and the city is full of students. But it's not very safe, and thefts are very common.
Likes (Indian Food): There are several restaurants and grocery stores, and you can get literally every dal, spice, maggi, and sweet you need from India. I prefer cooking for myself because restaurants are not very affordable, but there is an affordable canteen at the university. Italy has more options for vegetarians than Spain or France.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are jobs but most are reserved for European and most have very low salary. Also, there are a lot of frauds and scams here. I have seen so many Indian and Bangladeshi students suffering for getting placed after graduation, especially mechanical engineers.

Most affordable university
Tips: I have a few pointers one should follow before joining the University of Padova. Learn Italian, that will be really helpful. Prepare your documents well in advance and carry them with you to prevent any bureaucratic problems. Keep an eye open for scholarships, there are various opportunities, so try applying for them.
Likes (Value for money): University of Padova offers various courses with low tuition fees. Compared to universities in the USA, UK or even other European countries, it is very reasonable and affordable. I have a scholarship which waives off tuition fees and also gives a stipend to cover other expenses.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Italy has strict rules and regulations for permanent residence. They require immigrants to stay in the country with proper documents for more than 10 years. There is also a requirement for Italian language knowledge and fluency. Personally, would keep options open.

4.1
Diversity, interdisciplinary and fun.
Tips: There is a great first week of introduction when the entire college comes together and gets to know each other through various events and programs. I was also part of Goldsmiths badminton team, representing the college. Sports are also a great way to get to know different students at the college. They do have scholarship options. Living in London and being in London was a joy.
Likes (Post study jobs): I completed my postgraduation during Covid, yet I was still able to immediately get a job in my field. Goldsmiths is one of the top colleges in the UK and even during Covid, it made 100% that students get the best learning experience. This made it easier for me to know and understand my field of work better than the rest of my contemporaries.
Dislikes (Indian Food): London is filled with people from Indian origin and South Asia, hence it's pretty easy to feel right at home with regards to food. There are various ways to be part of the different fairs, and a chance to have culinary experiences from around the world, thanks to London.

Felt ill-equipped in the job market. Made great friends though.
Tips: You'll have fun, but regular strikes and the tense political climate do make your future tenuous. And if you manage to even get interviews, be prepared to be seriously low balled. The government has made it hard for even well meaning companies to sponsor international talent. Your money can be better spent if you wish to plan your future abroad.
Likes (Indian Food): Absolutely love London's food scene. There are many Indian restaurants for when you feel homesick. I prefer cooking but if I'm in the mood for eating out there are a million options. It can get super expensive though so you must learn how to meal prep.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Terrible job market and anti immigration policies. You definitely don't get your money's worth in terms of long term prospects. They do not prepare you for the job market, imbibe very half baked skills. The money we pay is mainly to sustain the bankrupt universities, not for quality education.

Public transport in London is absolutely amazing.
Tips: Transitioning after coming here was really easy. It's very easy to meet new people and make new friends as everyone here so social and the university is very encouraging of people from different backgrounds and courses socializing and will even host a lot of events just for that. I got a scholarship of 4000 through the university website. Extremely satisfied with my university, course, faculty and the UK. It's been an amazing experience.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport in London is absolutely amazing and the most convenient. Bus fare is fairly cheap and affordable and you can get anywhere by spending just 1.75 per trip. Train travel is a bit more on the expensive side but really fast if you want to get somewhere far.
Dislikes (Internships): There aren't many internships that Goldsmiths offers in my field of study, but they do have a lot of opportunities in Fine Arts as it's mainly an art university. Their CareerSPACE portals are really helpful for finding paid or volunteering opportunities.

This place changes the way you see the world.
Tips: The university is very liberal. Everyone finds their space here. Though I’ve lived and worked abroad before, it left me feeling more culturally aware, more opinionated and confident in my thoughts. It connected me deeply to my art. Besides that, London is a fabulous city. Lots of things to do, so much to explore and everyone finds their area of interest.
Likes (Student Life): There are lots of clubs and events for students to mingle with. The campus is huge and very student friendly. The events organised by the student clubs are also great. Lots of opportunities to network and meet new people often. Though a lot of these activities are for Bachelors courses. Masters students usually have so much to do that there’s little time to spend on the campus.
Dislikes (Internships): Unless you have good experience, this course won’t prepare you to find good opportunities. There will be free internships and full support to find those from the university but paid ones are hard to find. There are good networking opportunities though.

Be open minded before joining Goldsmiths.
Tips: To have an open mind to everything, to be able understand way beyond just what is happening around you. I got scholarships too. I’m very satisfied. It was a game changing experience for me. Every time I think of Goldsmiths, I think of the personality differences I had after studying there. I opened up to the core of myself, to be able to receive and then to be able to build.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): It’s closer to the London Bridge and the central area. Events like welcoming events in the first week of your uni and then every festival you can celebrate your own way. Chinese New Year, Christmas. All types of communities are on campus. You need to choose what you resonate with.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): They’re very different from other professors. At Goldsmiths nothing for right or wrong. They were open to understanding your pov. Teachings were more experiential and that made it easier and fun plus very useful. The faculty is very diverse. But you’ll find less Asians as professors, more all over the world maybe now things have changed.

Good learning environment and helpful faculty.
Tips: I was an introvert to say the least. This university gave me the wings to take off, express myself and my views creatively and am glad to say that I'm a changed person altogether than how I was when I joined in 2019. I'd applied through clearing, hence didn't avail any scholarships, but people do get options of it, quite decent ones.
Likes (Quality of faculty): In my time at Goldsmiths, I never had to worry about the tutors at all. Each of them possesses the best knowledge from reputed institutes that they've graduated from, and the way they impart knowledge, as well as the ticks and methods they use, is quite commendable. Since I studied design, there would be interesting lectures and workshops for us to understand things. I would any day go back and get back to being taught by them. We had British tutors in our course, but some were Asian, South African, and of Indian descent.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Around Goldsmiths University of London, New Cross, Indian food is available but mediocre as you would find in central London or towards Wembley. They have takeaway options and many restaurants are 15-20 minutes away by public transport. I preferred cooking myself to have fresh food and dietary restrictions being a Jain. But, I would also eat out once in a while, not always Indian. But, apart from Indian food, there are many other restaurants and takeaways that are quite amazing - multiple cuisines are available in the area - Italian, Lebanese, Turkish, Pan Asian, and of good quality. There are many amazing cafes too.

An all encompassing system and experience.
Tips: People here are politically and socially woke, and very welcoming. Extremely liberal and friendly environment. A great balance between social and academic lives. Sensitive to the needs and expectations of the students such as neurodivergence, mental healthcare, gender and orientation, accessibilities. Very satisfied.
Likes (Public transportation): There's an overground station right across the campus. Two bus stops a few hundred metres apart from each other, both close to the university premises. A DLR station within a 15-minute radius. Extremely accessible with several pubs and cafes around. Fun arts culture, great experience. A liberal atmosphere.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The UK is currently going through a period of recession which has reduced the scope of immigration and settlement options in the country. Permanent immigration seems like a considerable option however, given the new immigration laws and the recession that's going on in the UK immigrating isn't as easy as it once was.
