A powerful launchpad for driven students.
Tips: UCD is a strong, well respected university with excellent facilities and industry exposure but students should be aware that Ireland has a high cost of living and part time jobs are not guaranteed. The transition was challenging at first, as people are more reserved but it helped me grow in confidence and independence over time. I received a 10000 euro merit based scholarship based on my academic profile. I am very satisfied with UCD, my course and Ireland, as the programme is practical and career oriented and the country offers a safe environment and strong job opportunities.
Likes (Public transportation): UCD is very well connected to the rest of Dublin by multiple bus routes that run frequently throughout the day, making it easy to reach the city centre. Buses are reliable and affordable with a Student Leap card. This covers almost all parts of the city.
Dislikes (Internships): UCD offers good support through career fair, CV help, and employer events. The internships are highly relevant to engineering management and attract top companies. However, competition is high and there is no direct placement system, which makes the student responsible entirely for the job application MS.

Student friendly and value for money.
Tips: There are a lot of Indian students here so it feels like home. I got an international Student Scholarship of 4500 and I am very much satisfied with the course since the ratio of course fee and the Job salaries is on the higher side. Beware of the visa situation that your course offers.
Likes (Student Life): You have access to a lot of facilities and students from various backgrounds. I generally love going to libraries and the Student Centre which is in the Village. I participate in a lot of society events, ranging from Filmsoc to dramasoc, lawsoc, literary soc, and PolSOC.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): If you are in a course that comes under a critical skill, you will get a job very easily such as in Engineering or medicine. The package range is between 35,000 and 60,000 for freshmen. There are lots of tech and pharma companies in the Dublin tech hub of the EU and you can get a decent job from an associate role to any managerial role depending on your qualifications.

A great learning experience.
Tips: The buses in Dublin frequently face delays including hours of delay, cancellations and route changes that aren't well announced. My university being away from the tram station, the only option to commute is Buses. It takes me 70-80 minutes to travel to university for a distance of 7 km. The faculty are well experienced and have expertise in the subjects they teach, follow academic rules and guide students beyond academics. The teaching methodology, although varying from faculty to faculty, has always been a good experience for me. The faculty are from diverse nationalities, though the majority are Irish. There is no such concept of placement cell here, rather nowhere in Ireland, the jobs post studies have to be found only through my own effort. UCD do have a career support cell, but their help is limited to CV polish or other interview preparation sessions and organizing career fair. The on campus accommodation at university is more costly than off campus, but are very safe.

There are not many openings for part time on campus.
Tips: There are multiple bus connection college from the city centre and other locations. The students leap card allows you to travel 90 minutes for just 1 which is applicable on bus, DART, and Luas, where in this 90 min duration, you can switch multiple buses or between different modes of public transport. I received a scholarship of 7,500 which was given to me by the university for my profile. I am fairly satisfied with the university course, it provides hands on learning and pushes you out of your comfort zone. The job aspect can be better, where more support can be given to students.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are not many openings for part time on campus and it is challenging to find such jobs and even if you find one, it will require a lot of requirements. Most of such part time will require you to be available on weekdays and there might be high chances of class will be on same time, which will lead to missing out on lectures.

Best curriculum with top notch faculty. Industry ready curriculum and lot more opportunities.
Tips: A lot of Asian stores are open in all cities. And there are a lot of Asian restaurants too. There are many food channel also which delivers food to your doorstep. You can also cook at home as you are getting all the Asian food items at a lower price. Research the course curriculum in which you are planning to do your Master's or graduation. There are lots of modules and electives, so plan according to your future goals and then apply for that course. Consider whether the modules have an internship or not. Also research the faculty. Good experiences so far.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are limited on campus part time jobs. It's easy if you get part time job on campus then it will save a lot of time which can be utilised for study. The average payout is 14 euros per hour which is dependent on the company and job timings. Definitely you will get the minimum basic pay.

There is a lot of competition for off campus part time.
Tips: Coming from India where everything is fast paced and here things are a bit different, from communication with people to traffic rules and other cultural shocks. For my course I didn't get a scholarship. Usually no one in this masters programme gets a scholarship. This is one of the highly technical programme concentrations mainly on mathematics and statistics.
Likes (Indian Food): There are lots of cafes, food trucks and Delhi in every place. With a wide range of options in rolls and wraps. Most of these cost around 5 to 10 euros. Since I'm a vegetarian, I always prefer eating homemade meals. The vegan diet is more costly compared to a normal meal.
Dislikes (Part time work): On campus part time jobs are difficult to find. There is a lot of competition for off campus part time, you need to apply for a lot of jobs online and go to stores and give your CV in person. Usually, employers or managers require you to be available on weekdays but you will have college during that period. Average pay is from 13.5 to 14.25 per hour.

A wholesome experience with University College Dublin.
Tips: A whole new education system, it helped a lot in applying knowledge and skills and the fact that we could learn about what is currently happening instead of an outdated syllabus. I was awarded a 5000 towards tuition fees. I am very satisfied with the university and the country. UCD has a good reputation.
Likes (Safety): I had a good time in Dublin and don't have a negative experience to count. The university however consider student safety as a top priority. If any student gets into trouble - documents stolen, accommodation scams - they can contact the university for help and guidance.
Dislikes (Internships): The course did not comprise of internship experience. But, there was support from the university to help find internships and jobs: the university helps with links and repositories to look up and apply. There was guidance on CV and cover letter reviewing.

The university is good for professional growth.
Tips: Getting used to the weather and its unpredictability was something that took me more time getting used to as compared to other aspects such as time zones and classes. There is a strong Indian society as well so festivals are celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm. I mostly rely on cooking as eating out here can become reasonably expensive after a point. Tips: Great reputation here and very college town vibe as well. Students come here from all across the world and classes can be somewhat experiential as well. Professors are helpful and will almost always take out time to help you out even outside of office hours. The university offers adequate facilities and amenities and has plenty of potential.
Tips: I found it very difficult to submit my application on time. I suggest that you get started with your application as early as possible maybe by February. The process is long and you won't be able to get a scholarship that could help you cover a lot of those costs. Good experiences with the college.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The teachers are really racist in their behaviour and reaction to the foreigners and you will always see one of those statements posted after your assignment by default, as poor communication skills or grammar mistakes were spotted, even if you did so well, don't worry, it's something common among their teachers and in the culture.
Dislikes (Value for money): While the university provides good guidance for preparing applications, the responsibility to search for and apply for internships falls on the student. Courses that have internships as a mandatory part of their curriculum receive more structured support compared to others that get less direct help. There are a lot of internships relevant to my field of study, but they are very competitive, so securing one depends heavily on individual effort.

Great learning experience with strong academics.
Tips: Students should know that UCD offers high-quality academics, great faculty and a vibrant campus life but it is also a very independent environment. You're expected to manage your own deadline, keep up with reading and be proactive about internships, part-time work and networking. The workload can feel heavy at times but the resources, societies and student support services make it manageable if you stay organised. The transition was smooth overall, but there was definitely a cultural shift. Ireland is very welcoming and diverse but the academic style is more self directed and discussion based compared to what I was used to. There's a strong emphasis on critical thinking, participation and independent work. Socially, people are friendly, informal and open, which helped me settle in quickly. I received a Global Scholarship of 3,000. I got it based on my academic profile during the application process. The scholarship amount was applied as an education to my tuition fee which helped ease the financial burden. UCD offers several merit based and programme specific scholarships, so it's worth applying early and submitting a strong application. The course is well structured and industry-relevant, the faculty is supportive and the campus environment is vibrant with plenty of opportunities to grow. Ireland itself is safe student friendly and culturally warm. Some aspects could be challenging, the coursework can be intense part-time job opportunities are limited and finding internships relevant to your field often requires extra effort.
Likes (Public transportation): I rated it 5 because UCD is extremely well connected to the rest of Dublin, and public transport makes computing simple, reliable, and affordable. UCD has one of the strongest transport link among Irish campuses. There are multiple bus routes that stop directly at the campus gate and the internal stop, so getting to the city centre or nearby areas is very straightforward. Buses run frequently throughout the day and even late evening are well covered.
Dislikes (Internships): UCD does provide some support the process is quite self-driven and finding relevant internships especially for international students can be challenging and competitive. UCD has resources like the Careers Network, CV reviews, workshops and job portals but the guidance is mostly general rather than personalised. Students still have to search, network and apply on their own. The support helps you prepare but it does not guarantee internship placements. You need to be proactive, keep checking listings and apply to many roles independent.

Amazing faculty and good learning environment.
Tips: They should know how to manage part time jobs and academics.
I got a scholarship that waived off my tuition fees to some extent but the living costs in Ireland are too much at this point.
I am very grateful for the opportunity that I got. It was challenging but I really enjoyed my degree.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculties are just amazing, easy to approach and they are experienced and help you out in every possible way.
There are a few Indian faculties as well here but all this doesn’t matter. They all treat you equally and help you with everything whether you miss your exam or any assignments.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are Indian restaurants but they are quite expensive for a student to afford that 1-2 times a week.
I usually used to cook and rarely ate outside which helped me save a lot of money. It takes a lot of your time so for that you can meal prep.
Ireland is quite expensive in comparison to other countries.

One of the best research oriented universities in EU.
Tips: Students should be aware of the content of the course and the job opportunities in the EU post studying the course. The fee is high compared to the colleges in Ireland, but scholarships like the Global Excellence Scholarship and institutional fee waiver are available for international students from India.
Likes (Value for money): The course is of the best quality and aligns with the career path post study. The university offers many facilities including such as a free gym and accommodation support. The campus is very large and it is situated in a place with 24hrs bus connectivity to Dublin city.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The job roles in Ireland are in decline. UCD doesn't provide placement drives, but it holds a career fair for graduate roles where mostly EU residents are selected and not so good for students with prior experience. Even though the course offers career oriented learning, the lack of direct placement is often a drawback.

Good environment and good experience.
Tips: Communication plays a vital role here. The ability to adapt to the weather and food blending with the people from different backgrounds. There is no scholarship for my course. I'm satisfied with the syllabus but felt the teaching is fast as it is a one year course.
Likes (Student Life): International exposure and campus life are good. There are so many clubs in the college that conduct events regularly which allow students to get exposure and learn from peers. Mostly my time would be spent in classes and projects and the frequency of attending club events is rare for me since I'm occupied with academic work.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Many companies across different sectors offer employment sponsorship. Referral works here to enter the industry. Not sure for the freshers. People with a minimum of two years of relatively experience can break into graduation roles before graduation. Getting an internship is also great for breaking into the sector.

It was an average experience.
Tips: There are some cultural differences. I was basically not very satisfied with the country and everything. I think going abroad to study is quite a boring job and I will move back to my country and live with my family, that's the best feeling for me. I will stay here for 2 years and then start applying in India and move back. I want my mental status to be much better. For me, money doesn't matter; mental status matters and with my family, I will get that rest I know with my experience combined, I can easily earn 1 Lacs in India per month and I am very happy with that.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport, unless you're a student, it's good with comfortable seating but when your student card is gone, it's a bit expensive. But the seating is very good. The problem is that the bus is not full 24 hours. If you're doing night shift, then it's very hard to commute.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I have finished my course and am still applying for a job and I don't think I will get a sponsorship. It's very hard to find a sponsorship job unless you have 3-4 years of experience. I would say now it is very hard to even find a part-time job.

I liked my course a lot and I would recommend it to people looking to pursue marketing.
Tips: No scholarships for me in UCD but I got scholarships in UCC, University of Galway and Maynooth.
It takes time to get a full time job, you need to have patience and perseverance to get 1 and it’s better to come with some corporate experience minimum of 2 years, to be able to get a job.
Likes (Part time work): There are loads of part time opportunities, you just need to keep trying by making different CV’s. It is not very difficult to manage as you don’t have college every day as a master's student and you are just allowed to work 20 hours weekly. The average payout is about 13.5 euros per hour.
Dislikes (Internships): There’s guidance available everywhere but you have to work very hard to get an internship. It’s not a piece of cake. If you get an internship then it is obviously related to the field of study or something you are interested in otherwise why would you apply for it.
