Full Time MBA Program - Batch of 2027
4.5
Excellent School, best on ROI.
Tips: The college offers great infrastructure, interesting subjects and excellent faculty but the student needs to be motivated to make the most of the opportunities provided to them. It requires the ability to prioritize and focus. I received merit based scholarship.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): Post degree, Seattle has great potential to find employment. There are clear immigration and settlement pathways that you can pursue. OPT and H1B visa opportunities are going to be linked to employment and compensation going forward and the prospects for both is good here.
Dislikes (Part time work): I rated 4/5 because roles are available but competitive. Roles like teaching assistant, research assistant, library assistant and grades are common but there are a lot of candidates and students who are applying to those roles because they are well paying.

3.3
Fun but costly learning journey.
Tips: Seattle is a great place, but plan your finances properly. I didn't get any scholarship but I worked part-time and I got that through referral. Have to do a lot of self-studying, in some courses, there was less support from the TAs, but experience was great.
Likes (Student Life): The campus had a great gym, ocean view, bowling alley. The stadium was also near the sea so we went kayaking and swimming. A lot of trips were also organised by the Foreign student groups. UW also organises bi monthly meetups with seniors where we can interact with them and learn, and sometimes dinner is also offered.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): When I graduated, there were very few Data Science jobs in Seattle, many companies didn't provide relocation support, and most needed Java skills or were only offering W2 roles. These roles in Seattle were limited, most moved to California or the West Coast. H1B sponsor jobs were very less. I would suggest at least trying to get an internship within the first quarter, before December starts, so that you can try to convert your internship company offer to full time.

Master of Science in Human Centered Design & Engineering - Batch of 2027
4.4
An inclusive diverse and an academically rich college.
Tips: The campus events make the transition easy. I would suggest everyone try the design courses here as it's extremely well blended with research and tech as well.
Likes (Value for money): It gives a lot of great opportunities while you study here to connect with research out talk to mentors and seniors and so much more. It has events all the time to interact with industry experts and the college is very well known in the state of United States.
Dislikes (Safety): The safety at night can become a little risky. Especially if you are walking back alone at night and considering most Master's courses are in the second half and late at night you need a group to come back with. As an Indian, even racism is prevalent to a certain degree.

4.1
Good course structure. Public transportation is easy to access.
Tips: Culture is definitely present, however, it's great that people are punctual and they respect others a lot. They love to engage in small talk, which is sometimes fun. I did not avail of any scholarships because they don't provide those to international students. I am very satisfied with the university, the course is good only, the country is also good as far as I've known.
Likes (Public transportation): Seattle campus has great public transport, may it be the bus system or the underground metro. It's absolutely easy to travel around however it does take time.
Dislikes (Internships): I believe the career fair provided by the university are okay-ish and may not be that relevant to the opportunities I am looking for. However, considering the market is very bad right now, I probably can't blame them for the same. They also have career services like resume review and writing guidance which is good.

MS in Computer Science & Engineering - Batch of 2025
4.0
Great exposure for international students.
Tips: It is a commuter college mostly. On-campus jobs are moderately available and it's an amazing opportunity of exposure too. International students have multiple opportunities to socialize and network with the help of the events organized. Student groups are active too.
Dislikes (Safety): The campus and on-campus housing are safe. But the locations around are not as safe. The campus security ensures safety in the nearby locations and is available 24/7. They are accessible too. In general, weekdays are comparatively safer compared to weekends.

A perfect college in a perfect location with the best summer.
Tips: The culture shock is there and also be ready to face a lot of ups and downs. I was a graduate research assistant at my college and make sure you have some research experience in undergrad. I am very satisfied with my course and country and also the university.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is very good probably the best experience of your life. You have everything be it gyms, sporting events and various events and you are going to enjoy it a lot. Also, you have events at college where you can have the best time of your life and you get exposed to a variety of cultures.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Getting an H1B visa is very hard and most of the companies do not want to sponsor international students. Finding jobs is hard and getting accustomed to a new culture is never easy and sometimes you will miss family.

University of Washington is great!
Tips: It's an amazing university with great opportunities once you graduate. The beauty of the campus is enough to keep you going. The opportunity for scholarships for my programme is limited (1 or 2 out of 60 students). I am thoroughly enjoying my time in Seattle.

The university is very open and welcoming with friendly faculty.
Tips: Student life is very good and you have a lot of opportunities to participate in a variety of activities. However, getting an H1B visa is very hard and most companies don't want to sponsor international students. Finding jobs is hard, and getting accustomed to a new culture is never easy. You will miss your family sometimes. Scholarships for abroad students are provided by many organizations and the government of India. I'm very satisfied with my course, country, and university.
Likes (Value for money): The university has a well-developed campus, excellent infrastructure, and a quality library and labs. It also has excellent placement in top multinational companies that provide excellent salary packages.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I prefer to cook my own food, but if you don't like cooking, you can order food from restaurants near campus. The restaurants on campus and nearby have good food, but they don't serve Indian food.

A college where you can make friendships, create lifetime memories, and launch a great career.
Tips: I would say in the beginning, students can feel alone here because it's a very big institution. However, soon you will find your group, as there is a lot of diversity here at UTA. I was given a Residential Honours scholarship which was approximately 13,000 dollars annually. Because of this scholarship, I also got the in-state tuition grant which reduced my cost to 18,642 dollars annually. I got this scholarship because of my high SAT score, i.e., 1520 and my strong high school GPA, i.e. 4.0. I feel lucky to get a chance to study here in the USA and at UTA. If you are accepted into UTA, you should definitely come here. No room for doubts.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty of UTA (University of Texas Arlington), I will say, is very approachable. Even if it's a huge institution but you get a lot of support in terms of your academics. You get a TA to whom you can ask any doubts or questions about anything in your course. You can also just casually approach a faculty for research opportunities. Something that is unique in our department is the teaching style. Professors often conduct debates about a specific topic through which students can feel more involved and are able to understand the concept very well. The diversity of the faculty is great. There are teachers from other nationalities as well, i.e., from India, Pakistan, China, etc.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): These days its been very difficult to get an H1b visa which you get after completing your study to work in the USA. The immigration laws have become stricter and it takes a lot of year to get a green card in the USA. I will surely want to settle in the USA if I get a chance.

Fun campus, amazing courses, great faculty, moderately expensive, inclusive and diverse environment.
Tips: It's a completely new experience as things here are very different from how it was back in India. The luxuries and comfort are compromises but it also helps in building a stronger sense of independence and responsibility. The washrooms here are totally water-free, you only find hand-wash basis with water but other than that you have to carry a water bottle with you or succumb to using issues. But other than that there are not much of cultural shifts that one might notice on the surface level and one can easily get going with the culture here. I am quite satisfied with the university and course that I've selected since I found some amazing professors who teach most professionally yet make sure that everyone understands what they teach. I would 100% recommend my course to anyone from a Math or Computer Science background.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty members at UTA are great. They are well experienced in their field of study and have an amazing teaching style which makes it easy for students of any kind to understand. They have a more practical approach towards teaching rather than the effective traditional theoretical methods. Faculty members are easily approachable in their offices and can also be easily contacted via emails and Microsoft Teams. They give prompt replies and are available to help whenever needed.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The city of Arlington does not have any public transportation. While the university has its own shuttle service called Mav Move which is free for the students, computing within the city is a little hassle as Uber and Lyft are quite expensive. There are cheaper options compared to Uber and Lyft like 'Arlington Transportation by Via' which is limited only to the city of Arlington, student rideshare is the most commonly opted medium of transport by students for integrity transportation.

UTA: Nurturing success in a diverse environment.
Tips: Research UTA's academic programs, student community and support systems before enrolling. There were clear cultural differences at 1st it was difficult for me but now I'm used to it. UTA also has merit-based scholarships you can apply online and at the office as well. Overall, I'm satisfied with the university.

Thriving at UTA : A satisfying journey.
Tips: Before joining UTA, students should research its academic programs and campus environment. For me, moving to UTA was easy and I got some good friends. UTA offers scholarships based on academic records and unfortunately, I didn't receive any scholarship. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with UTA and UTA offers excellent academic programs and has good faculty.
Likes (Indian Food): I rated 4 for the availability of food options from my country of origin there are many Indian restaurants in the city ranging prices of budget-friendly to upscale dining. Not only Indian you also find Mexican, Chinese, Italian, and many other cuisines. I enjoy eating out and also cooking at home.
Dislikes (Public transportation): I rated 4 because UTA's campus has convenient access to various modes of transportation including nearby bus stops. Public transportation is affordable and reliable, connecting the studies to different parts of the city, and enhancing convenience and accessibility.

Sometimes staff used to be very rude to students
Tips: Students should know before joining this college is that some teachers will not talk to you nicely. They will always be rude no matter if you have done something wrong or not. And there is some lack of infrastructure in sports facilities. Student will get internship very easily in this college.
Likes (Internships): I rate high on internships because I got internship from my university very easily and out of 100 students 90 students easily get internship from University. The only thing student have to do to get internship is that they should have average communication skills.
Dislikes (Value for money): I rated low on value for money because I think University can improve the staff. Sometimes staff used to be very rude to students and they don't listen to students, what students want to ask them. And University should also improve sports facility for students.
