Bachelor of Business Administration / Bachelor of Computer Science - Batch of 2026
3.9
One of a kind experience.
Tips: Waterloo is a school that has truly lived up to its name. Great for business and entrepreneurship programs and if you're someone who likes to be on the field or in research. You'll meet like minded individuals and great faculty that can actually make a difference. If you manage a scholarship or part time jobs, you can get good return of investment.

Pretty nice place to study.
Tips: The university always has a lot going on and everyone is quite friendly and helpful, which really helped me through my initial days here. There is a lot to explore around, and it is ideally safe, but there are increasing incidents of pickpocketing, and it's recommended that you travel in groups if it's late. The city is well connected and there are every industry here as well, out of which a lot of companies come for placements.

Learning the ropes in Waterloo.
Tips: I have been exposed to one of the most multi cultural campuses there are, and this has helped me in building connections with people from all over the world. The networking potential is great, and if you acquaint yourself with your professors, they can be quite valuable for LORs and even referrals. There are plenty of Indians and Indian food options as well, and Canada has a welcoming culture, which is seen in the university.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): There were better chances of getting work here a few years ago, but now Canada has increased its restrictions on immigration and jobs for international students. Given a chance, I would certainly like to work here, and there are chances, but you will really need to stand out for companies to take a chance on you.

The University of Waterloo offers a global and diverse learning environment.
Tips: I haven't had too many culture changes as I have met people from my city here, which is also an indicator of how global the University of Waterloo truly is. The classes are quite academic, and it's hard to catch up on UPAT times. Also, the transport system can be a bit annoying. Rest, it's a lovely place to learn.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Well, Canada has become increasingly strict with immigration and giving jobs. You'll have better luck with part-time jobs than with finding a full-time opportunity willing to take you in. Be prepared for lots of applications and rejections in the process.

Great academic environment.
Tips: Waterloo has a great reputation both in and outside Canada, and they take their academics very seriously. Lots of Indian restaurants and supermarts are available all over the place; in fact, there are all sorts of cuisines easily available, as Waterloo has a very international campus. Masters are great here for research purposes, especially. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.

Tips: The University of Waterloo is very well-reputed, and the campus environment is very global. Lots of people from home as well. Good people and culture.
Tips: Waterloo takes a very modern and structured approach to education. Their co-op programme is one of their selling points, but if you won't be able to handle job hunting with classes, it might not be ideal for you. People are friendly, and you'll see a lot of Indians around. The winters are rough, and the course loads seem to be endless, so be prepared for that. Tips: One of the best things about studying at Waterloo is the diversity in courses and people. Not many places offer the same level of education, but it's very important to show initiative and participate in classes. The environment is free and accepting, and students are expected to have a similar mindset. My professors helped me publish a couple of my papers, and I've been part of the debate society.

Tips: I chose to come here because of the programs offered, and I haven't been disappointed. My degree allows for a truly comprehensive and detailed analysis of psychology and society, and is great if you are keen on publishing and academia. I have truly helpful professors. The space is limited, and for truly good Indian options, it's better to cook for yourself or find an underrated place a little off the city. Scholarships are available upon inquiry while you apply.

Prerequisites to adapt well and basic requirements.
Tips: Be very active in terms of studying, and be on top of your courses and assignments. You will feel the cultural difference, so be prepared to need some time to adjust to your life here. It is a great university with lots of courses offered. Plan your term courses selection way ahead keeping your work permit and specialisation requirements in mind so as to select the needed course in the term offered and plan it according to courses offered based on which term the professor is available. All this information is available on the University Website. The healthcare infrastructure here is not very good, carry your basic needed medicine along with a doctor's prescription from India. It is a cold country, so be well prepared in terms of warm clothes and gear. Also, bring basic utensils if you are planning to cook your meals, you might not immediately find the kind of utensils you use back home here. Also if wanting to stay off campus, start looking for accommodation well in advance through the Facebook marketplace or other WhatsApp groups present. Living within a 1.5 km of radius University will be a better choice in terms of time spent and winters.
Likes (Post study jobs): We don't need a sponsorship visa to work. Can apply for a Post Graduate Work permit, which has a set of guidelines on the duration of the course, field of study and an English Proficiency IELTS exam which makes you eligible to apply. Stay updated with the guidelines from the government regarding this. You can apply for Post graduate work permit once you are just 2 - 3 months away from graduation. Apply well in advance, once you are eligible as it takes time to get approved.
Dislikes (Part time work): Too many students but too few vacant jobs available. Sometimes job might not hire you as other experienced people are already working. However, start looking for it well in advance. It is unannounced on the University Website when they are hiring for what and which positions. Keep an open eye on it.

Computational Mathematics - MMath - Batch of 2026

University of Waterloo is great for STEM and the industry.
Tips: University of Waterloo with its coop programme is a very STEM and industry-oriented university. Many students through their coops will get work experience and skills that they then use to get full-time jobs and a lot do internships also offer students full-time offers if they do well. Overall the courses offered are useful and helpful, but the best part about the university is the coop programme.
Likes (Public transportation): So with your student card, you can use all the public transport in Waterloo for free. There is a bus system that connects very well all across the city to the university and is especially useful in the winter when it's hard to walk outside. There are also tunnels and indoor bridges that connect different campus buildings so it's easier to travel in the winter and there is also a tram that runs between big hubs.
Dislikes (Student Life): I put a 3 on student life because the University of Waterloo is very study-oriented. There is often a lot of work pressure and multiple things at once for students, so we don't get the chance to enjoy other aspects of university life, like events and going out.

The university provides a strong community spirit.
Tips: If you are creative and keen on embarking on research, this is a good place to consider. I do feel that it is extremely expensive and although placements were usually pretty good, it's no longer the same because of how strict the policies have become and how difficult it is to immigrate anywhere.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Getting any kind of long-term employment opportunity especially as an Indian is going to be a very tricky and unlikely task. They have become extremely particular and your chances of moving here to immigrate are slim to none. It is better to plan an alternative instead.

You are certain to find people you gel with but it is important to remember that academically, courses are quite hard to keep up with. Also before you commit, you must remember that Canada has become very firm with immigration. The public transportation is flexible and affordable so you can explore the city. Tips: Students should know that the people are polite and welcoming so you don't need to worry about feeling too out of place. You will be expected to prepare well for your classes to keep up with your coursework. Finding jobs is a big challenge and I feel it has become extremely expensive to survive here so if you can avoid Canada then you should consider that option.
Dislikes (Internships): You are going to have a hard time finding internships here since the college doesn't actively provide internships for students, you are left to your own devices which becomes even harder as we are international students and our options become limited.

University of Waterloo taught me hard work and resilience.
Tips: It is a warm and welcoming campus at least in my case. I chose this university because of its reputation but now I feel that it is a better idea to study outside Canada itself. Quality of learning is great and you will be expected to work very hard from the first week itself. The faculty will help you in every step towards your journey.

Pace university is good but the tuition fee is high.
Tips: Definetly there is a cultural change. There are different country students we have in our class so we face different cultures. We can avail scholarships of $2500 - $3000 per semester if you secure 65 in Bachelors. I am not satisfied with the university because the tuition fee is higher.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is good. Many students stay in Jersey City. If you catch the metro you will reach within 20 mins to World Trade Center. From World Trade Center the campus is 5 minute walking distance. In terms of affordability it just you have to send $100 pass per month.
Dislikes (Part time work): No part times are available off campus. We do have on campus jobs but we have 1 percentage chance on campus. You can work every week 30-40 hrs, remaining time you spend on your academics such that it is easy for you to get a job in the job market. It starts from 7$ - 15 $ depending.

Supportive and resourceful place for your career.
Tips: Outside the university, a cultural shift would be evident, but inside the campus, it doesn't hit that hard, because there are lots of Indians in the university and in the classes. I have received a scholarship of 4600 USD per year. Early applicants usually receive scholarships for up to 6000 USD per year. The earlier you apply, the more you stand a chance to receive a scholarship. I would say the university, course and country are a decent experience. Irrespective of where we are, what matters is how much we work on our skill development, which will eventually land us a job, not just a graduation Certificate from a University. And for such hard workers, our university definitely is very supportive and resourceful, providing ample career fairs, connections and opportunities.
Likes (Indian Food): There are quite a few Indian restaurants in and around New York and the adjacent New Jersey, and the pricing also is reasonable (5-20 dollars). New Jersey especially Jersey City, which is 15 min away from Manhattan ( where the college is), has everything Indian that you would want, from groceries to food and pantry. New York too, has a reasonable amount of places offering Indian cuisine or something closer to it. I however prefer cooking at home, and occasionally eating outside.
Dislikes (Part time work): The university does not have a huge campus, and it's mostly residential, there are very few on-campus jobs, and those too are available for students, and reserved for specific departments or professionals or undergraduates, and the remaining few on-campus jobs have tough competition, with a priority for the ones coming with a referral.

I am happy with my decision, the place is worth it.
Tips: I live in India square which is the same as India. Restaurants, temple, food groceries everything resembles India. I am pretty much satisfied with my university and I enjoy being here every second and a good place to make friends. I did not get any scholarship.
Likes (Public transportation): You are in NYC you can find transport from anywhere to everywhere. Bus, subways, path to New Jersey, local cabs, City bike to rent at affordable prices. Name the transport and you can find it here. No need to buy anything like car or scooter over here.
Dislikes (Part time work): Competition for part time is huge and one needs to work very hard. I am currently working on campus. NYC campus is a small campus which means less number of on-campus jobs compared to sub-urban areas. There are few but the competition is very high. The average payout will be 15$ per hour.

Also, we could find our Indian community here which is helpful. Overall it's worth it I say with all the activities they conduct for every thing.
Dislikes (Part time work): On- campus jobs are not easy to get in NYC campus as there are so many indian students. But, still I have seen many Indian students working. Dislikes (Value for money): No. It's not value for money as it's really more expensive than other colleges. It shouldn't be the case where the faculty and other factors are making the college not value for money. I would have taken the factors easily however it dominates over every other aspect.

A great place to grow and learn
Tips: Pace University is a diverse university with students from all over the world. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs with scholarships. It is a competitive university with a high acceptance rate and cost of attendance. The cultural shift was challenging at first but I have adjusted well, I have made new friends from all over the world and learnt a lot about different cultures and about myself. I am very satisfied with Pace University, my course and my country. I think Pace University is a great school with a lot to offer students.
Likes (Internships): I rated 5 out of 5 on internships because they offer a wide range of internship opportunities in a variety of fields. The career services office also provides excellent support to students in finding and applying for internships. The university has partnerships with many different companies and organisations. The wide range of internship opportunities and the excellent support from the career services office makes it easy for students to find and land an internship that is a good fit for them.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I rated 4 out of 5 on post study jobs because they do offer some assistance with this, but it is not their primary focus. They are more focused on providing high-quality education. My university does have a career services office that can help students with their job search. They offer resources such as CV and cover letter writing workshops, mock interviews, and job postings. However, the job market in the year 2023 is not as strong as it should be. Although there are multiple opportunities still open, and offers work visas with a package of 65000 per annum on average. Overall, I think my university offers a good service in terms of helping students to find post-study jobs. I believe that next year would be better.

Likes (Value for money): I have heard from every one that pace is the most value-for-money university. Many people got the desired position in their desired company. They are organizing career fairs every semester so it benefits the students a lot in terms to get hired by their desired companies.
Dislikes (Part time work): I have been trying to get a part time job on campus but I got rejected every time despite being a good computer and software person. And less part time job option as well. Good collge for academic and future job prospects
Tips: The University is located in New York city and by far I’ve not encountered anything unsafe in campus. The campus is very safe and the students are treated equally irrespective of the culture and ethnicity they come from or belong to. The professors are good and make students industry ready, they even help us get good internships to boost our careers. There is more focus on academics in our university but the university is keeping up with other activities too like there are many clubs to join in the university. You’ll not feel alienated here as an Indian even if you don’t make Indian friends here, there is a unity in diversity here which meets our Indian standards of ‘Vividita mai ekta’.

Pace University is charming, friendly and budget friendly
Tips: The college is situated in the famous downtown Manhatten with tourist spots like Brooklyn bridge and the world trade center right in front. Pace University is known for its friendly staff and competitive students. Also getting a job here is much easier as compared to other universities.
Likes (Safety): Manhatten area is very safe in general. But the security at the university is very tight, as you can't enter any campus without your chipped ID card. Also, the university is laced with surveillance cameras and security guards. The world trade center is also nearby, even if you're leaving late, the subway system runs for 24 hrs.
Dislikes (Internships): As internships pop up daily from reputed firms, there's one for everyone. The career services staff is accommodating in guiding you through your resume and every other thing needed to crack internships. Also, many big and reputed firms are taking interns.

Good can be great.
Tips: No culture differences. But struggling to get jobs is the hardest part. More importantly, having guidance will help us better achieve the goals. I got 5000 scholarships, but now the fees have increased. I would suggest trying to get into other universities instead of Pace because it’s expensive.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The quality of faculty is great and knowledgeable and their guidance is appreciated. The faculty is great, but if we get more on campus jobs, that would be more beneficial for students studying at Pace University. The fees are more than the cost of living and getting jobs is very less.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The job market is down and the US is very weak in getting jobs, especially on OPT, and no companies are coming forward to sponsor the Visa because the government is putting new rules and issuing new orders every day and it’s becoming a challenge for all the organisations to hire students.

This University is great to study for student.
Tips: This University is very popular and here placement is 100% and they tought very politely and the professor are very intelligent of our subject . In this University campus is very big. This University is best for MBA and all others course.
Likes (Safety): Here there is high safety because students who have not received ID card they are not allowed to enter in campus. In this campus students are very discipline on campus and no ragging of girls and boys on campus because their rules are very strict on campus
Dislikes (Part time work): Here no part time work is available for students and those students go anywhere to work for money to pay fess and for other facilities. Here there is only one problem of the part time work.
