Yes, the Hilde Domin Programme is one such scholarship. It is offered to students who have been denied the right to education in their country of origin. This offers them a chance to complete a PG degree or a doctoral programme at a German University. The scholarship is administered by DAAD.
The scholarship offers monthly financial support, travel grants, and German langauge courses, among other services to students. The duration of the same is usually 24 months for a PG degree and a 48 months for a doctoral degree.
To be eligible, students would have to prove threat to their personal well-being or safety, and submit the required documents like transcripts, and test scores.
Indian students can pursue TUM courses in both German and English. It is not mandatory to learn German. It is only needed for courses that are delivered in German only. Student dorms are better for Indian students at TUM Germany. Dorms are more affordable, offer easy access to campus, and are better for socialising with peers. Private apartments do offer more freedom, but are also more expensive.
