MSc Data Science (UE Innovation Hub, Dubai) - Batch of 2026

Enjoyable with some up and downs.
Tips: Learn German until C1 is mandatory for basic jobs. Winter is fully dark for almost 4 months so be prepared for that. Try to live the German life instead of enforcing what you were doing back home. Go out more to have more knowledge about things. Back home you might have competition just within states but here it's with everyone in the world.
Dislikes (Part time work): Finidng part time is really hard especially with English language as a main and you have to learn German which is a tough language to learn. Making friends is hard; people are not talking to you randomly and attending events gets less because of this issue.

MSc Data Science (UE Innovation Hub, Dubai) - Batch of 2025

Research thoroughly first before joining.
Tips: Do the proper research. Don't fall for any influencer's video. Learn German at least A2 before landing in Germany. Try to target the public universities. Plan your finances carefully. Don't expect that finishing study will lead you to land a job in Germany.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport is commonplace and well-connected which makes life easier. The university also provides a semester ticket, in which students get a discount on a Deutschland ticket, which is valid to travel around Germany on regional trains, bus, and U-Bahn not the ICES.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There is no job search support provided after the course ends. International students are struggling to get a full-time job as per their profile. After course completion, there is no help provided by the university to help the students to get either an internship or full time job. Don't expect any campus interviews.

Very less chance of getting an internship.
Tips: Be ready to face new challenges in a new country. Learn at least B2 level of the German language in India itself. So that when there is a job fair in University, you have an upper hand in selection. If you pay the fees in one go, the University offers a huge discount up to 40%. I am satisfied with the University because they are genuine and provide a German as well as an English Degree.
Likes (Safety): You will be safe at the University. There is no racism, no body shaming, and also transportation is available at short intervals. The University do offer consultation for the students if they don't feel good or if they have any problems in a new country, they offer this all free of cost.
Dislikes (Internships): Very less chance of getting an internship as this is a private university and also they don't offer any mandatory internship. While some other private Universities offer a mandatory internship Certificate, it's easy to give it ahead to companies which are offering internships for students.

A supportive and career focused university.
Tips: Students should learn German. Course culture shift is totally different here, people use post for every documentation, it takes weeks to send or receive any post weather is very good should follow every rule or else you will be fined and the cost of living depends on the location but it's pretty expensive though.

Student friendly university.
Tips: You can get access to international faculty but I think there needs to be an improvement in creating opportunities for students like internships, etc., though there are a few seminars conducted but it's not covered on all disciplines. The good part is that the university is student-friendly.
Likes (Safety): Safety is considered a priority as I could see we can reach out to the police for any issue but in the other hand if we consider issue related to medical, it is not that much great, it might take days or a week to get a doctor's appointment once you book.
Dislikes (Part time work): Facing quite a tough situation in finding a part time job. Not like the USA, Australia, here the stores are less in number comparatively, increased flow of students and job seekers through chance karte is creating much competition for part-time jobs too. Even though it's nearly a year since landing in Berlin few of my known mates are not able to find a proper part time .

University is fun and people are friendly.
Tips: Language is the main issue here. You can survive with English here as most people do speak English but you cannot live here with English alone. There are also a lot of people who don't speak English or don't speak well so they don't speak at all. So most of the places for part time jobs prefer people who can speak their language. University is very peaceful, I did not feel stressed with assignments or exams, as Indians we survive worse during our indian assignments and exams. The German way of assignments and exams won't scare us anymore.
Likes (Safety): Haven't experienced anything to question the safety here. I feel people like Indians here. Everyone greets you well every time you make eye contact with them, they hold the door when they see you passing by and greet you again. You will realise how much India lacks civic sense compared to Europe.
Dislikes (Internships): I'm not sure if it is the job market or the university. The university will provide a job fair but I haven't heard from anyone that they got a job from this job fair. We had one subject in which our professor explained to us how to use LinkedIn to its best; that is the only guidance I have received so far.
