Google Scholarship 2026-27 Overview

For Indian students aiming to ease the financial burden of an international degree, Google Scholarships provide some of the world's most prestigious corporate funding options. However, navigating these awards requires clearing up a common misconception: Google does not offer generic "study abroad travel grants," nor do they fund non-technical fields like the arts. Instead, Google Scholarships are highly selective, merit-based corporate funds reserved strictly for full-time students pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related technical STEM fields.

Your eligibility for an international Google award is determined entirely by the physical location of the university you attend, rather than your passport or country of origin. To use a Google scholarship abroad, an Indian student must first successfully apply to, gain acceptance from, and enrol in an accredited foreign university independently. Once enrolled as an international student at a destination campus, they become eligible to apply for Google’s regional flagship programs. 

List of Google Scholarships for students

Here is a list of scholarships provided by Google for students pursuing technical courses.

1. Venkat Panchapakesan Scholarships India

Amount- USD 2,500 
In honour of Venkat Panchapakesan, Google India launched the Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship for Indian students. This scholarship is open to enthusiastic and hopeful students willing to build a career in computer science. Anyone studying a UG course in Computer Science or a related field in India can apply.

2. Generation Google Scholarship (APAC)

Amount- 2,500 USD

This particular Google scholarship is designed to strongly encourage female students to pursue computer science courses. So, female undergraduate students enrolled full-time at universities within the Asia-Pacific region can apply. Open to aspiring computer scientists who excel in technology, the Generation Google Scholarship is designed to help students become world leaders in their field. Undergraduate students at any accredited Indian university can apply. Note that applications for the Generation Google Scholarships 2026 are closed. 

3. Women Techmakers Scholars Program

Note: Google officially retired this specific program name. It was folded completely into the Generation Google Scholarship global framework.

Amount- Varies by region

Aimed at establishing gender equality in the field of tech, this scholarship is designed for women who are interested in fields of computer science and gaming. By means of this scholarship, Google honours Dr Anita Borg’s vision of creating gender equality in the tech industry by encouraging women to be active participants and leaders in the field. This scholarship was formerly known as the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship Program. 4. Google Conference and Travel Scholarship
