Heriot Watt University was founded in 1821, as a public research university and is located in Edinburgh, Scotland. Heriot Watt University History
Heriot Watt University was first founded in 1821 including the Edinburgh School of Arts which is known to be the world's first mechanic institute. The university was founded by Leonard Horner and Robert Bryson. Later in 1852, it was renamed and became the Watt Institution and School of Arts. By the year 1874, Mary Burton had become the first woman on the School's Board of Directors. The International Centre for Island Technology had been opened at the Heriot Watt Orkney Campus during 1989.
In the year 1990, the Edinburgh Business School had opened up its first online MBA course for students. The Dubai Campus of the university was established in the year 2005 and the Malaysia campus in 2014. Heriot Watt University was awarded the Queen's Anniversary Prize for the third time for its higher and furher education in 2015.
