The University

SRI Program
The SRI Program or the Summer Research Internship Program is a global program that offers interns from around the world to come and work with a certain research project. Open to all, the internship is about 8 weeks long and is conducted during the summer months of June and July. (Mostly. The actual dates, however, may vary from year to year.)
The successful students get an allowance for the tenure and also receive a certificate from NTU at the end of it. The research is also presented during the closing ceremony.
Eligibility
- The program is open to all students who have NEVER studied at NTU before. So if you are say contemplating doing your master’s at NTU but have not yet applied for it, then you are eligible.
- Open to all students from across different nationality – suggesting that the applicant must be a current student at an overseas university. In other words, if you are studying at a university in Singapore, you are not eligible but anywhere else, you can apply.
- Students have to be able to commit to the 8-week program.
- Applicants must possess good academic track records and have completed a minimum number of semesters at their universities –
- Students who are in a 3-year Bachelor programme must have completed 4 semesters
- Applicants who are in a 4-year Bachelor programme must have completed 6-8 semesters
- Students who are in a direct Masters programme (ex. Integrated 5-year courses) must have completed 8 to 10 semesters
How to Apply
Students who are interested need to first check for the ongoing research programs. Based on the interests and the schools and the topics, students can apply for the same. Once the application is logged, the students can then apply through the website directly to the specific research program they are interested in.
The applications for the same usually open in the month of October for the next year’s summer program. Here is a list of documents that would be required for the application:

- Two recent colour photographs, passport size
- Printout of Online Application Form
- Curriculum Vitae
- Photocopy of Particulars page of passport or Identification Card
- Official Transcripts (Degree Programme)
- Official Transcripts in Original Language
- Official translation in English (if any)
- One academic referee's report
- Endorsement Form

Students get an allowance of about SUD 3000 for the internship. This, however, does not cover the insurance and other sundry expenses. The students would be offered accommodation at the hostel at a deductible fee from the stipend promised. Also, the students can choose to stay outside the campus but would have to inform the university beforehand of any such choices.
Requirements
Students would require a Student Pass and Entry Visa. They would also need to take a Health Insurance mandatorily.

Applications to all the courses offered by NUS are done via online application portals of the university. Check out the steps below to see how to fill undergraduate and postgraduate applications on dedicated portals:
Undergraduate Students
International applicants need to follow these steps to apply to an undergraduate programme at NUS:
Step 1: Visit myaces.nus.edu.sg/uasonline2/catD/catDapplform.do and sign up to apply.
Step 2: Enter personal details and contact information.
Step 3: Enter details of academic qualifications.
Step 4: Enter information on university/tertiary education.
Step 5: Enter the information on all outstanding achievements.
Step 6: Insert the programme details and paste the application material in the boxes provided.
Step 7: In this step, input the following:

Step 9: Press 'Continue' to complete the appication
Graduate Students
International applicants need to follow these steps to apply to a graduate programme at NUS:
Step 1: Sign up on the university’s application portal at inetapps.nus.edu.sg/gda2/Applicant.aspx/Account/SignUp.
Step 2: Click on ‘Create New Application’ and choose the following:
Step 3: Read the instructions from the faculty/department/school carefully.
Step 4: Fill up the information as stepping through the application process.
Step 5: The system will perform an application completeness check for the selected programme.
Step 6: Once the above steps are completed, fill up the declaration section.
Step 7: Click on the 'Submit' button in the declaration page to complete the submission.
Step 8: To make an online payment for the application/acceptance fee and view details of your application (e.g. application status and admission status), click ‘View Application/Make Payment/Submit Reply on Offer of Admission’ at the menu on the left.
Step 9: To make changes to basic programme information for an application, click ‘Edit’.
Step 10: To apply to multiple programmes within the same application cycle and to change the order of preference, please click on the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ links as required.
