Jaideep shares his excitement for making it to his dream Masters course in the UK and how Shiksha's study abroad counselling team helped him get admission. Check out his entire interview below:
Q: Why do you aspire to study abroad?
Jaideep: Since I had a strong inclination toward finance, share markets, and investment I wanted to make my career in investment banking. Some of the top investment banks are headquartered in London like Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, and Credit Suisse, and, the UK is considered as the hub of finance. Hence, I wished to study in the UK and pursue my Master from there.
Q: Where in the UK did you apply and which university did you finally choose?
J: I applied to around 05 UK universities like NTU, University of Essex, University of Bradford, Aston University, etc. And was able to get through them. I finally settled for Nottingham Trent University (NTU) to pursue master in Finance & Investment Banking because NTU was one of the universities that I was focusing on getting admission into.
Q: How did you come across Shiksha’s study abroad counselling?
J: I began searching for the admission process for studying abroad and got a list of top 10 agents who could help me through the process. In this list, I saw Shiksha study abroad and there were positive reviews the students’ testimonials were also good, plus I had heard about them from my friend circle also and opted to go for it.
Q: What was your experience like with other agents?
J: Without naming anyone I would say that the other agents were not interested in checking my SOP and hence, I opted to back out and continue with Shiksha’s counselling. The counsellor here was supportive throughout and she edited and reviewed my initial 1000-worded SOP and finally got it down to 300 words. The experience with my counsellor was very good.
Q: What was the journey like while applying for admission abroad?
J: After applying on Shiksha’s website I got a call and was informed that Mariyam Zaidi – Shiksha Study Abroad Counsellor would be my associate throughout the admission process. With Mariyam ma’am’s help, I began researching my application and she solved my queries at odd hours too. This helpful nature of hers further encouraged me to give my 100% to this. With her help, I can say the journey was superb and very smooth. On the whole, the journey was easy and solved my myths about study abroad admission processes being very difficult. But because I got timely help from the right counsellor about the SOP and LOR’s and got my unconditional letter, I can say that I was on the right track.

Q: How was your visa application process covered?
J: The application process for a visa was very smooth as Mariyam ma’am shared the link and I filled out the form. Then she checked all the details and confirmed before final submission and visa fee payment, NHS fee and it was done. We had to wait for 15 days till UKVI approved my visa amidst this the Forex rates began to increase gradually by 1 Pound every day. Luckily my visa included funding for INR 105 per 1 Pound and I finally got my visa without more delay.
