Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, Experion Technologies partner for R&D in Energy Systems and AI

Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg is one of Germany's oldest and most reputed universities, with a legacy of scientific excellence that includes 14 Nobel Laureates who have contributed to its history of research and academia.
Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU), a public research institution in Bavaria, Germany entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Experion Technologies, a global product engineering & digital transformation services firm to strengthen collaborative efforts in research and development in the realm of Energy Systems, Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The alliance will facilitate collaborative research projects focused on smart energy systems, with a particular emphasis on AI and simulation. Both partners aim to drive innovation in this critical domain by extending mutual access to research facilities, specialized laboratories, and computational resources to promote research through pooling resources and expertise.
The university and Experion Technologies will enable students immersed in research and theoretical work at JMU to collaborate with Experion project teams. They will establish avenues for reciprocal learning through exchange programs.
Under the partnership the JMU students get the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to research projects that involve real-world applications in Experion’s commercial environment while the Experion staff to engage in academic research, gaining insights into the latest advancements in smart energy systems and AI, which is in line with the organization’s Culture of Learning.

Prof. Marco Pruckner, Chair of Modeling and Simulation, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at JMU said, "This collaboration represents a convergence of academic rigour and industry pragmatism. Together with Experion Technologies, we plan to drive forward joint research and developing projects in the field of smart energy systems and vehicle grid integration.”
“It will be interesting to bring AI and energy systems together to obtain sustainable solutions for the future in cooperation between industry and academia. We are committed to fostering a dynamic ecosystem of innovation, where theoretical insights converge with practical applications to address real-world challenges in the field of energy systems”, says Prof. Dietmar Seipel from the Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Knowledge Systems.
Thrilled to embark on this transformative and collaborative journey: Experion Technologies
Binu Jacob, MD & CEO at Experion Technologies commented on the partnership and said, “Experion has ongoing engagements with global clients in Electric Vehicles (EV) manufacturing, Charging Networks, Smart Grids, Utility Billing Solutions, Embedded Systems, Energy Management, and ESG. We believe AI can act as a pivotal enabler for efficiency and sustainability in this ecosystem. We see trends crystalizing in bi-directional charging based on the impending dynamic energy pricing scenario wherein EV fleets or EVs are going to be power plants or power consumers in cities to thus manage the energy grid load and optimize costs for consumers. We are thrilled to embark on this transformative and collaborative journey alongside Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU), whose research experience in EV-related energy consumption data studies, together with Experion’s client mandates, can help deliver thought leadership in the EV charging solutions market. We're not just forging research partnerships, but also opening doors to a realm of unparalleled learning opportunities for both our employees and the bright minds at JMU.”
