Study in UK: The admissions are open for both the September 2025 and January 2025 intake of the MSc Sustainability & Environmental Studies course at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.

University Of Strathclyde: Applications Open For MSc Sustainability And Environmental Studies

The University of Strathclyde, Glasgow is currently accepting applications for the MSc Sustainability & Environmental Studies course for the September 2025 intake and also for the January 2025 intake.

The program offers a cross-disciplinary approach to the study of policy, environmental management, sustainability and sustainable development in developing and developed countries and circular economy. The course is open to students from various academic backgrounds and they can choose classes to suit their background thanks to the many subject options.

The fee for international students is £30,250 for 2025/ 26 and for the January 2025 intake, it is £27,500. There is a Faculty of Engineering International Scholarship available for new international students.

Eligibility Criteria For MSc Sustainability And Environmental Studies

The following are the eligibility criteria for this course:

  • The students should have a first-class or second-class honours degree in any degree discipline. For international students, they should have the international equivalent of this qualification.
  • Students from all backgrounds are invited including form arts, social sciences, law, chemistry, engineering, physics, maths, biology, geology, and business.
  • In IELTS (Academic), the overall score should be 6.5 with no individual band should have less than 5.5.

MSc Sustainability And Environmental Studies: More Details

“Students will learn about major environmental issues and the circular economy and gain an understanding of the methods in which environmental considerations and climate change are used in development and planning decisions. Students will be expected to probe, for example, strategies and policy options for achieving sustainable development without increasing the ecological footprint of economic activities,” reads the official statement.

The students need to take three mandatory classes and a further 90 credits from various optional classes.

“This wide choice ensures that each student can tailor their curriculum to match their background and career aspirations, and also ensure the curriculum is cross-disciplinary. Each class is normally taught for two hours per week over eight to 11 weeks. Following successful completion of the taught classes, students will undertake a dissertation,” added the statement.








The program commencing in September 2025 includes a one-year full-time study with attendance at classes over two semesters and also a dissertation during the summer. For the January start, the students should do one semester, a dissertation during the summer and then the second semester.
