University of Strathclyde Launches New MSc in Statistics & Data Science

Study in UK: To meet the increasing demand for data science professionals, the University of Strathclyde has introduced the New MSc in Statistics & Data Science.
University of Strathclyde UK has introduced a new MSc in Statistics & Data Science. The field of data science and applied statistics is expanding rapidly and this innovative conversion course will equip the students with the necessary skills required to grow in this career.
To apply for the new program, the students should have a minimum of a second-class (2:2) Honours degree. The fee for the international students is £25,500 for 2025/26.
Dr Kim Kavanagh, Postgraduate Director for MSc in Statistics & Data Science, commented, " This programme allows students to gain valuable analytical and programming skills in a short time frame. The accelerated nature of this programme means that graduates will be very attractive to industry due to their experience in the programming, modelling and visualisation skills required in the data science field."
About MSc in Statistics & Data Science Program
The program will commence in 2025 and students from various disciplines can apply for it. It is designed for those who wants to gain essential skills in big data processing, machine learning, data analysis, and predictive modelling. They will also learn using statistical software such as R and Python.
Interested aspirants can attend a webinar to be held on May 6, 2025 at 14:00 BST. It will offer an overview of the program and the students will get interaction opportunities with the admissions team and department staff. They will be able to ask them any questions through a possible Q&A session.
The students will be trained to work across a variety of sectors such as finance, insurance, health and commerce. They will develop advanced skills in data science and statistics.

The course's focus on practical skills, industry-relevant techniques, and cutting-edge research ensures that students are well-prepared for the demands of modern data science careers,” added the statement.
The students will also get a scholarship worth £5,000 which will be deducted from the tuition fees and they need not separately apply for the scholarship as it will be automatically given to the students.
