Study Abroad: University of Strathclyde announces British Council GREAT Scholarships

The scholarship was announced to offer financial support of a minimum of £10,000 to a student pursuing a one-year postgraduate course within the Faculty of Engineering at Strathclyde University. The scholarship deadline is - May 3, 2024.
"The University of Strathclyde, Faculty of Engineering is offering one scholarship to students from either India, Malaysia or Thailand applying for postgraduate courses within the Faculty of Engineering," reads the official statement.
Under the scholarship program, a student will get a minimum of financial support of £10,000 while pursuing a one-year postgraduate course within the Faculty of Engineering at Strathclyde. The last date to apply for the scholarship is May 3, 2024. The applicants should hold passports of India, Malaysia or Thailand.

British Council launched this program with 49 UK universities to support students from Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, India, and Vietnam to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.
Also, UK GREAT Scholarships in India is available for a range of universities in the UK. It is for Indian candidates who have an undergraduate degree and are interested in continuing studies in the UK. There are a total of 26 postgraduate scholarships available from UK universities for the academic year 2024-25. Each scholarship is worth a minimum of £10,000 towards tuition fees for a one-year postgraduate course. These scholarships are jointly funded by the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign and the British Council with participating UK higher education institutions.

The postgraduate scholarships are available at the following institutions for the academic year 2024-25 - Anglia Ruskin University, Aston University, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Hartpury University, JCA London Fashion Academy, Norwich University of Arts, Robert Gordon University, Royal College of Art, Royal Northern College of Music, Sheffield Hallam University, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, University College London, University of Bath, University of Birmingham, University of Chichester, University of Kent, University of Nottingham, University of St Andrews, and University of Stirling.
GREAT Scholar Eligibility Criteria
A GREAT scholar must be:
- Who have an undergraduate degree, are motivated and have an interest in the proposed subject area.
- Be a citizen of India.
- The student should be willing to attend a networking event for all UK-based GREAT scholars, to discuss experiences and capture perceptions of studying in the UK.
- Meet the English language requirement of the UK university.
- Establish an engagement with the UK as a scholar, through personal and academic fulfilment.
- Be willing to maintain contact with the British Council and their HEI and act as an ambassador for the GREAT scholarships.
- As an alumnus of the GREAT scholarships, be willing occasionally to speak to potential candidates about his or her own experience of studying in the UK.
