A. The Milwaukee School of Engineering is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin which is about a 90-minute drive north of Chicago. MSOE is located in an urban city with a lot to do nearby. The school has two grocery stores within walking distance, a basketball arena two blocks away and Lake Michigan is within walking distance.

Q. Does Milwaukee School of Engineering offer scholarships and student loans to deserving candidates?

A. MSOE offers merit scholarships to every accepted international student. The scholarship amount ranges from $10,000 up to $24,000. Students can participate in World Robotics and FIRST Robotics for scholarship consideration. International students are directly eligible for the scholarship and are not required to apply separately for the same.

Scholarships are dependent on a student’s ACT/SAT score and their secondary school GPA. A student with a high SAT score and school grades would be rewarded a higher scholarship amount up to a maximum of $24,000.







MSOE does not provide fully-funded scholarships to international students. They do not offer assistantships and neither student education loans. Students are advised to apply for education loans from their home country.

Q. What are the documents required for admission to the Bachelor Programs at MSOE?

A. The required documents for admission are: transcripts, ACT/SAT score, English proficiency results, passport copy, and financial guarantee with an affidavit of support. MSOE accepts scanned copies before enrollment, however, students are required to bring the official copy to the school.

Q. What is the cost of studying at Milwaukee School of Engineering?

A. The cost of tuition along with room and boarding is about $53,000 per year. Students can get scholarships to bring this down to about $30,000 per year. Tuition fees without room and boarding come out to $43,000 per year and the course duration is about 4 years. Fees for housing and meals are about $10,000 per year.

Q. What are the internship and job prospects at Milwaukee School of Engineering?

A. There are lots of on-campus jobs. Students can work anywhere from the admissions office to the IT helpdesk to being part of ustodial staff. The options are endless for on-campus jobs. Students at MSOE often receive paid internships over the summer, that goes towards the cost of tuition. MSOE works closely with Harley Davidson, GE, Johnson Controls, Direct Supply, and dozens of other companies. Students can earn $5,000-$10,000 over the summer at internship programs.

The Job placement rate is 96% for all majors. A famous alumnus is Dwight Dierks, who is the Vice President of NVIDIA Corporation. The average starting salary after graduation is about $55,000. MSOE also hosts a career fair every fall where companies come and hire students. The fall of 2019 saw over 330 companies present to recruit MSOE students.

Q:   What GPA is required for the University of South Dakota?
A:

The University of South Dakota expects a GPA score of 2.5 from undergraduates and 3 from postgraduates on the 4-pointer scale. Along with the GPA scores, undergraduates must meet the basic eligibility and submit an ACT score of 21 or higher and an SAT score of 1070 or higher. In addition, they must submit the required documents, such as academic history, transcripts, letters of recommendation, English language scores, and more.

Q:   What GPA is needed to go to Ohio State?

There is no minimum GPA score for UG admission at Ohio State. However, International students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale or equivalent) for graduate admission.
