A new one-year MSc course in sensor and imaging systems has been launched in UK todevelop skills that will open opportunities in various applications.

Two leading universities of United KingdomUniversity of Glasgow and The University of Edinburgh, have jointly launched a one year Sensor and Imaging Systems MSc course.

The programme has been designed to develop skills that will open opportunities in various applications. This will help bridging the gap between academic research and industrial application. Research leaders from the two universities will jointly teach this course. The two institutions have supplementary research strengths: Glasgow is strong in fundamentals, imaging, nanofabrication, microwave and precision measurement; Edinburgh has strengths in applications, microfabrication and CMOS devices.

The programme will be divided into two semesters; the first semester will focus on understanding the fundamentals of sensor and imaging systems, while the second semester will be about providing training in more specialization aspects.
